a great little place in salem. an old chum, who now lives in the d.c. area, was in town with her twin teen daughters, so we spent a day in salem. did the usual touristy things for their delight, then decided for dinner to grab a bite at the lobster shanty. the shanty advertises "warm beer, lousy food, surly waitresses, rude bartenders and cranky cooks." how could we not love it? the menu may boast about "limp salads", but in all seriousness, nothing could be further from the truth. thefoodis amazingly fresh. everything from pizza and burgers to lobster and grilled seasonal veggies is prepared with a creative twist by the chef. it's a small place, casual and fun. i look forward to returning for many more wonderful meals.
