love doughnuts - and this place has the yummiest doughnuts in newmarket 🙂 their othersweettreats are pretty good too, but i go for the doughnuts

a quick lunch for two. not an obvious street presence or even obvious street. walked into a warehouse annex with white tile counter, white walls, exposed brick and concrete attached to a fabric shop - a nice quirk.
the counter food display is gorgeous with oversizedsweetand savoury jewels. the service is good. seats (secondary school rejects) are at a premium and surround two industrial tables held up by scaffolding and seating about 15.

the coffee is supreme and our two trim caps were pleasant, quite well textured and unburnt.

beetroot and blue cheese tart looked dead on the plate but was delicious - quichey blue cheese and spinach, very good pastry and very well flavoured. accompanied by a small mound of limp rocket.

in contrast the tamarillo tart looked beautifully alive - glistening with the tamarillo stalks sticking up. a fork showed the tamarillo to be surface deep however. rather than being luscious the bulk was a deceptive, rather dry almond base. it was ok but didn't live up to the promise.

love this place even if i don't have asweettooth. we popped into when we drove past. everything was yummy in my memory. we definitely go back again if we have a chance.

i have been here a few times and i am totally in love with their cream donuts. i never really dine in as the place seems to be so busy. today i decided to try their mushrooms tarts and i was not disappointed. it was delicious! filled with mushrooms and mozzarella.

i also bought their lemon and coconut cake with cream cheese icing today, since they ran out of donuts. the cake was beautiful! moist, not overlysweetand it was just right.

i find little and friday a little on the expensive side, but i keep coming back from time to time for some treats.

i am usually hesitant to leave the comfort of north shore for food as traffic and parking can be awful but i am so glad i decided to go, because i got to experience the wonderful taste of @littleandfriday!! i met 2 friends here for coffee and wow, i am still dreaming of the wonderful food.

the interior of little & friday is minimalistic and clean, with a clear view into the kitchen area. the cabinet is filled with so much beautiful food, whether baked or cooked.

🍌 i had such a hard time choosing what to order but i ended up ordering the banana & caramel brioche ($9). i am a sucker for banana and walnut, and this brioche was not exception. the banana cake was softlysweetand soft, which balanced out perfectly the sweeter caramel and icing. the sugared walnut was also a nice touch, adding some crunch to the texture. in fewer words: this brioche was delectable.

🧊 i also ordered an iced mocha which tasted wonderfully caffeine, and was the perfect partner-in-crime to the brioche. the coffee flavour created an interesting new taste when consumed at the same time as the brioche.

🍩 🧅 🧀 my friends decided to order the raspberry cream donut ($6.50), the caramelised onion scone ($6.50) and the cheese scone ($6.50). the donut was wonderfully light and fluffy, and the cream tasted like a warm embrace with the raspberry added a welcomed sourness. the caramelised onion scone had the perfect caramelised onion, and even today i am still dreaming about it. the cheese scone was also perfectly cheesy and when smothered with butter, made me feel more and more fulfilled with every bite.

overall, i would rate:

@littleandfriday i will go through all the terrible traffic and scarce parking just to get another taste of your delicious food 💌

my go to place for coffee and asweettreat. but today experience ruined. all i did was ask the barista if there were a glass for water as the usual place for them was empty, she rudely told me to find someone else. i was a barista myself, and i understand stress from having too many orders but that was unacceptable. service and food were good but did not overtake the poor experience. not sure if i will return

little and friday is a great place to dine at, if you're craving their desserts! my absolute favourite would be the lemon coconut! their cabinet food is a bit on the expensive side, but it's worth it! it's not toosweetand i just love the taste of lemon going down my throat! i love it! i was quite disappointed with this look-a-like quiche. i took a few bites and to be honest it tasted a little bland. i also tried their coffee, and it wasn't that satisfying either. their coffee supplier is from eighthirty, and i was hoping to get a good cuppa. nevertheless, this place is definitely worth a visit if you want desserts!

we ordered: bruschetta of smashed avocado 🥑 $18, a generous serving of avo (i suspect 2 large avocados worth) seasoned with lime and coriander sprinkled with goats cheese. was sooo yummy but was it worth $18? maybe during winter when avo prices are rocket 🚀 high but during summer 🏝 you can probably whip it up at home at a fraction of the price. wrap (around $12) was a good size and quiche (around $10) was creamy, they nailed the texture too👍🏻! appreciated the side of salad 🥗 that accompanied the cabinet food💕. the raspberry donut 🍩(around $6) was divine. not toosweetand the perfect filling to bread ratio 🙌🏽.

average price: $23 including drinks 🥤

vibes: casual business meeting 📁 or brunch with family friends. either or 🤷🏽‍♀️

parking: free parking in front of the cafe. 🚘

negative: perhaps consider decreasing the price of your avo 🥑 on toast 🍞. come on $18 is a bit steep 😬 . introducing more food on the actual menu would be great too as there are only 6 items on the new market menu.

loved: free sparkling water! 💦 little and friday will always have a special place in my heart 💓 because it’s one of the first cafes that put effort into making their food look 👀 just as good as it tastes in auckland! kudos for maintaining the quality food and service throughout the years 👏🏼! also love the animal table ‘numbers’ though ours was a whale missing its mandible 🐳. lighting is also ideal for gram pics 📷 haha.

this cafe has one of the best cabinet foods on offer fromsweetdelights to savoury goodies. i have yet to have an average tasting item from this place and doubt it'll happen anytime soon. the staff are really friendly and all know what they are doing and it shows. the cinnamon donuts are a must and their coffee is great.

i came here for the first time for asweettreat - i was not disappointed! i am not usually a sweets person but the display of treats just call out to you, they almost look too pretty to eat! and when you do eat them, they taste just as good as they look! there is also a great variety to choose from, which i will definitely be back to try! the place itself was super cute as well!

marvelous food experience at this hidden restaurant. just like that proverb, you can’t judge a book by the cover, the owner of the restaurant did not pay attention on the decoration from the inside out. i have to say that i do not have any expectation for their food, but the well-balanced dishes are really surprising me. if anyone likes me(a avocado lover), you will definitely go for their smashed avocado. i also ordered their donut because i saw lots of pictures showing on the reviews. actually, i’m not a dessert person, but that’s not sosweetand pretty good. by the way, it’s a very popular restaurant in this area, may not suitable for business conversation.

this place has a real nice environment for breakfast. the cakes are amazing, just how i like it, not toosweetbutsweetenough, just the right amount of flavor. as for the wrap, it was a pleasant surprise. i was expecting a menu with something like eggs benedict and big breakfast but i didn't see any so i ordered the wrap. i can say that i could eat that wrap 3 meals a day. there was bacon, hash, egg and salad, felt like a whole breakfast plate wrapped together and not taste messy at all, btw the wrap itself is crispy!!! the barista makes good coffee so that's a plus. the pastry is the star in this cafe, definitely recommended. everything in the cabinet looked very beautiful so you might have difficulty choosing. im going to go back and try everything they serve and update later.

full house packed in, it was one of the most busiest cafe i have been to.
but it was certainly worth the wait. it was such a hot day i needed something to fresh myself so i grabbed their famous donut, iced moch and last but not least lemon coconut cake.
i aboustely adore their donut they were well known for a reason. they were nice a cold and when you bite into it you taste the bittersweetrasberry jam and soft cream full in your mouth and soft donut sponge comes next they were amazing🤤
i have tried their ice mocha they were alright it would’ve been better to order ice latte to taste the coffee bean. lastly the lemon coconut cake was alright i loved the sour lemon and the creamy coconut combined together.

it's so hard to choose from such a variety of freshly madesweettreats! we opted for the apple crumble and orange/rose water cake - both were incredibly delicious. i will be back to try their famous donuts!

i absolutely loved little & friday food sooo delicious. the xmas-cooking that you can buy in the jars are 100% recommended. thesweetfood is especially delicious even the way the cooking is presented in the jars. love it
