i ordered the “prawn ceviche” at $16.50. when it arrived it was 3 cooked prawns (like you get from the freezer section of the supermarket) on the side of a glass, with lettuce in the glass and a couple of garnishings. i wasn’t happy paying $16.50 for essentially 3 prawns so i took it to the counter and told them that i ordered ceviche, and that this wasn’t it. they told me it was ceviche, but i was unhappy with it so i apologised and said i’d get something else instead. the rest of the table was already eating so i just got a cabinet frittata.
i would have been happy if that’s where this ended but when we paid the bill, instead of removing the ceviche and charging me for the frittata ($8.50) they left the $16.50 ceviche on the bill.
overall thefoodwas good, everyone else enjoyed their meal just very disappointed by their conduct and left feeling embarrassed by the whole situation. i definitely won’t be returning.

definitely some creativity has been put into the menu. not your usual brunch menu. their duck pancake was delicious and unique. the prawn ceviche was good with a good variety of salad and the garlic bread was nice and crispy. a great place for a good and filling savory lunch.

the matcha latte and beetroot latte were very nice too, and well portioned.

best way to have started our weekend! thefoodwas delicious! oh how i wish i could eat these perfectly poached eggs every morning. the smashed avocado on sourdough was worth not being able to afford a house in auckland. i would highly recommend this place. the service was exceptional, the staff were all professional and friendly. the only suggestion would be to serve coffees hotter, maybe we should've made a special request to have it hotter. other than that, definitely a great place and would easily go again!

had brunch here with my friend for a catch up. cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, goodfood(eggs bene), ☺️ also ordered a matcha latte but it wasn't as flavourful as i would like. would still come back and try other options!

update: i feel like i've had a better experience to give them one more star :) visited again, this time with my family, ordered heaps and liked every single thing. the team at little dream was very accommodating despite us coming at a late lunch. the highlight for me was the squid ink risotto and soft shell crab. worth mentioning is their beer batter fries which is probably one the best side fries you can get at a cafe. also, thanks for making it a special day for my sister!

a great find on a back street in industrial surroundings. interesting varied menu and well thought out and presented food. their version of avo on toast was so much more than that! my burger was compromised by not being of a similar temperature to the excellent freshly-cooked chips. i should have requested a re-heat but my partner and her elderly aunt were very pleased with theirfoodand i did not wish to spoil their happiness with a “moan”!

thefoodhere was really tasty. however, im not sure what happened my coffee but the soy milk was curddled really badly. i think they oversteamed it. i still would retirn however as its an easy fix. cute cafe with little nooks

really enjoyed thefoodand coffee here. especially the coffee, there is a natural sweetness taste, loved it! and the staff was all very friendly and attentive. would definitely love to come back.

thefoodlooks great, but tastes bad. the french toast wasn't cooked properly, the burger had something hard in it like a stone or something. when i asked for mayo on the side, not only did they change for it, but it seemed old and slimy and tasted bad. staff were rude and wouldn't comp the burger when told about it. would never recommend on many levels.

seems like i need to clear up with what's wrong with this overrated cafe. i ordered their version of the blt. put simply it's bland and filled with that soggy lettuce you get from leaving it in the fridge for way too long. so gross i couldn't stomach finishing my meal. now instead of thinking about why theirfoodsucks, they spend more of their time crawling through zomato and berating their customers. i think they put effort into managing their replies here than thefoodthey make. it's no wonder this place is pretty much always empty.

came here with friends, after a visit to the french market, and was pleasantly surprised. thefoodwas awesome and the portion size was massive, as you can see from the photos. tucked away in parnell, i wouldn’t have found it otherwise. the service was quick. good find.

thefoodis what i would rate 4/5. it was very tasty however the creamy mushroom became a one note meal and felt like it was missing something to make it a superb dish. i went on a saturday brunch time and saw a few families there. the bathroom could have done with a bit of sprucing up. the coffee was strong but very tasty. would recommend and go again. well worth it if you have gold

good atmosphere, good portions and excellent presentation! both times i've come here thefoodwas excellent - bacon was very crispy and poached eggs were done perfectly. my new go to cafe in auckland. would definitely recommend!
