thai sushi is my friend, and so are tables.. the traditional sushi i tried were ok but what really stood out were the crazy ones...like thai sushi with cilantro, mango, peanuts, etc. thedrinkswere good and left me wanting to take an extended drinking tour of the menu.

their arrangement of space inside does not quite work. when i was last in there was a distinct lack of seating. they could probably get rid of the couch/armchair style seating and fit in some tables. i find it awkward to sit in these "comfy" chairs when i have to lean over a tiny short table to eat. it becomes un-comfy.

have not decied if i will return. disappointed, despite the good reviews and great things i've heard about liberty i was not impressed. to begin, our server who claimed to be the bar manager was extremely inattentive. in the hour plus we spent there we had one drink with complete intentions for more. regardless of the emptydrinksand clear eye contact he ignored and avoided us. he seemed busy but clear negligence is unacceptable. additionally i ordered a "chefs choice" for food and when it arrived it consisted of three piece of sashimi and a cucumber roll. granite i did not order an expensive "chef"s choice" i would expect my trust in chef would be something he would be proud of.

not that great. go somewhere else.. came to this so called trendy bar/sushi place. if you really like sushi, this is not the place. if you really like well made drinks, this is not the place either. go somewhere else where the food anddrinksare halfway decent..there's plenty in seattle.

sushi and a well stocked bar. i visited this spot on a tuesday evening after work with a girlfriend for some much needed "girl talk." we snagged seats up at the bar versus opting to wait to occupy one of the sofas in the "main" dining area of this fairly small establishment.

aaron, our bartendar, was patient with us the entire time through our various "oh mah gah"s and "girrrrrl, you don't even know" conversations and was very helpful about telling us what different bottles of alcohol were when we started playing "i spy" with their extremely well stocked bar. (note: they had st. germain which i swear only 4 bars in this city ever carry). thedrinkswere incredibly stiff and delicious and complex in taste--these aren't your typical "belltown"-tinis. i ordered the dragon's toe because...well, i love whiskey, and i was pretty buzzed after sipping 3/4 of my whiskey, ginger ale, ginger water and cucumber concoction. bonus points for strongdrinksthat taste like candy.

as for the food...well, it's similar to what you'd get in belltown. the usual suspects were on the menu: spicy tuna and rolls slathered in mayo. it's not that the rolls were bad, or that the cuts of sashimi were bad, it's just not anything special.

the staff is mostly pleasant, sans one guy who looked like he was their version of macguyver. mg was a bit of a jerk when my girlfriend tried looking for the bathroom and asked if there were specific guy and girl bathrooms because they weren't marked.

overall, this is a great laid back location with very good drinks, a knowledgeable and nice bar staff (mostly), and decent food.

good drinks, "meh" sushi," meh" service. went here for the first time. 4 of us. thedrinkswere strong and great, almost on par with zig zag (drinks were bigger too). the so loved the lemon drop, and the dragon toe was tasty.

sushi- we ordered a bunch of rolls- some were good, and some were not so good. they were out of a few things, but no biggy. al in all the food was ok- better sushi can be found.

decor and service. seattle art bistro typical- with art for sale on the walls , some tables, some couches. the service was bad- slow and inattentive. the bartender was overworked, and had very little help. however, he catered to people he knew and not to us- again i can understand the need to please the regulars, but a little annoying nevertheless...

all in all i liked the place for drinks, and would go back again.
