lexington grill - waldorf astoria ras al khaimah

the lexington grill was a restaurant everyone had mentioned so as being steak lovers we had to give it a try. we visited the day before and spoke to man on front of house who was very friendly told us all about the restaurant and others within the waldorf we appreciated his time and booked for the following day. he took our names and asked if it was a special occasion we mentioned we were in holiday.

we arrived and were greater by the staff by our married name and a book table had been reserved for us. the staff were so helpful and chatted through the various steaks - we decided upon the mixed selection as wasn't disappointed as got to taste a bit of everything they have to offer it included , steak, short ribs, prawn and lobster. the food, service and staff could not be faulted. it was a lovely touch when they appeared with a cake saying happy honeymoon and a congratulations card signed by all the staff.

i would recommend this restaurant but it is on the pricey side so be prepared!

possibly the best steak ever tried in uae, we had the rare to medium done tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. also tried the grilled jumbo prawns and they were lip smacking good. the restaurant is perfect for a romantic dinner with the dim lighting and very classy decor. not to mention the service was flawless and our server was very knowledgeable and was quick to suggest options to suit our taste. they also had a brilliant selection of wines to pair with the food making it just the perfect place for a special evening.

whether it's the service, food taste, hospitality or generosity; lexington grill blew me away.
i had the chateau briand to share with my friend and it was the best with a side of potato gratin and creamy spinach. the waiter got us amuse bouche which was very good and then a mini dessert platter with our coffee.
to end it perfectly, the chef himself came to check on us and ensure we're happy.

you know that a place is popular when they've been overbooked a week in advance. we had our name down on their waiting list and given that we drove all the way from dubai for the dry aged steak, the manager was kind enough to seat us for a quick bite as soon as the restaurant opened.

dry aged steak- never had it before, and please do correct me if i'm wrong but they seem to be one of the only restaurant serving it in the uae.

they did mention that they typically recommend the sirloin to women as there's less fat.. not going to lie, i do enjoy ribeye more, but we had to order both the available cuts for tasting purposes- sirloin and ribeye- medium.

the amuse-bouche, wine recommendation, bread selection with butter and smoked salt accompaniment were all absolutely stunning. the second we were offered a range of knives to select from for our steaks, we knew something great was yet to come. and we were not disappointed. at the end of the day, one really can't compare the sirloin with the ribeye as they're so different, but as i said- i do prefer a good ribeye. the fat just makes it all the more flavorful.

we ordered the truffle mash, corn on the cob and wild mushroom sauce- none of them failed to disappoint.

i left the table shortly after my main, however, my partner did inform me that they brought out a tiny dessert sampler at the end to try. i so wish i had stayed back but this is something to look forward to for the next time we're on rak. cheers!

the steaks were good. i have ordered rib eye and in my opinion it misses some spices. also i tried the caesar salad but i did not like it at all.

the location and sittings in the restaurants are nice but the lights are very dim.

overall i rate it 5/10

the staff at lexington grill exceeded my already high expectations. one of our servers could have penned an entire essay just on knives! i loved their passion for everything from cuts of steak to varieties of wine and choice of cutlery. fun fact: the interior decor of this restaurant has been crafted to reflect the marbling in meat. that kicks mcdonald's "red and yellow" color psychology trick to the curb. lexington offers dinner and a show with the dramatic preparation of the monroe - a cocktail served in a cloud of smoke. one of the many jewels in the waldorf astoria's crown.

طعم الستيك لذيذ الصراحه من الاذ الستيكات الي كلتها في الامارات، وبالنسبه لسعره مناسب ويستاهل، مشكلته الوحيده انه الاكل ياخذ وقت وايد لين يوصل وفي شي بعد المشروبات كلها كحوليه

best steak, do order the tenderloin! great customer service :) loved our dinner experience. definitely a must try if you are staying at the hotel!

excellent steaks is what you can expect at this specialist steak house in one of uae's grand hotels. the restaurant has a nice cosy ambience and the service staff are really helpful and eager to please.

have been there a couple of times and will be going there again soon.

one of the best steaks i've had in uae in a kinda sleepy yet nice restaurant.

food first, loved the tenderloin done medium to rare paired with some nice single malt my wife ordered grilled king prawns which was great as well.

the place was a bit sleepy & service a tad slow but we were in no hurry so had a lovely dinner while staying at the hotel.

alert: this restaurant is closed on tuesdays for some odd reason!

the place is nice and good option when you are in rak... the starter in general was fine and nothing special about it except the tomato soup which was exceptional.. we had the lexington salad, waldrof salad, burrata & tomato salad and the crab cake... but i have to give them the credit for their bread and mocktails... the steak was definitely one of the best very tender and melts in your mouth

definitely one of the best steakhouses in the uae. we have visited lexington grill 2 weeks ago, and i am certain that there has been a change in service, pricing and menu... 

zomato will have to update the uploaded menus accordingly. the waldorf salad sadly is not longer on their menu... they have the decompressed waldorf salad now... their chateaubriand, is surely not 420 aed, and costs around 480 (can't remember the price anymore).. but i'm sure the menu has been amended.

my husband and i ordered the decompressed waldorf salad, buffalo mozarella salad with basil, and the chateaubriand to share.  the decompressed waldorf salad is unbelievably flavorful and disappointingly small! we were sharing the appetizers, and this portion could be barely serve a kid. the buffalo salad is very rich and creamy, it's a must try!! the chateaubriand was cooked and served to our liking medium rare and hot from the inside. they offered us all the homemade sauces to accompany it to taste from... our favorite was the red wine! we also loved the selection of salts (himalayan etc...) which were also served to us to garnish the steak..

we got to learn that their executive chef used to be the executive chaf of the rib room, so no wonder why our steaks were cooked to perfection and to our liking... 

the chef, and f&b manager visited our table twice to ensure that everything was done correctly. service was impeccable. we were celebrating our anniversary, so they offered us a chocolate mousse cake, and wine for free.. that was so sweet of them.

we recommend this restaurant to the carnivores!

wonderful atmosphere and refreshingly professional service (considering it's in uae). the steak tartar was wonderful so was the amarone properly decanted and the chocolate fondant was a cherry on a wonderful cake.

this is a difficult one. i can't say i didn't enjoy the food, in fact i liked it. i went for the t-bone medium rare, it came medium but i'm not complaining. whilst we were waiting we had the waiter come 3 times with other people's food to our table, not a good sign.

and this is the crux of the problem here, the staff are a friendly bunch but not trained/ capable: a bit like your mates serving you. we had to wait 40 mins for our mains 30 mins for our bill. the food was good but not perfect. you can get better. not a signature restaurant in a 6* hotel standard.

if i paid half the price it would be 5 stars but at these prices and this hotel, i have to say i enjoyed my meal but left dissapointed.
