lexington grill - waldorf astoria ras al khaimah

the views and location of thisrestaurantare wonderful. we were seated outside overlooking the pool and to start, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable. we ordered the goats cheese and crabcake for starters. my goats cheese was a little boring, amounting to what actually tasted like rubbery camembert and a few slivers of beetroot. for mains we decided to order the 'chef's selection' for two which was a selection of the day's best meat cuts and seafood. today that was lobster, prawns, tenderloin and braised beef cheek. the beef cheek was heavenly - melt-in-your-mouth heaven! the rest of the selection was cooked well but did not offer too much excitement. after our main dishes were cleared, we were left waiting for quite some time. little did i know that my husband had pre-arranged a birthday cake for me, but it took about 30 minutes after mains to get to us with absolutely no communication from staff. it was unfortunate that we had to leave in a bit of a huff. mixed experience, lots of potential.

thisrestaurantwas an unexpected delight, my only wish is that it would come to dubai!  it is definitely in my top two of steaks i've ever had, and i'm dying to find an excuse to go back! 

my oh and i were very hungry when we entered this quietrestauranthidden in the corner of the waldorf.  we therefore ordered quite a lot of food, thankfully all of it was amazing.  we started with the burrata which was creamy without being too rich. for the mains we went a bit over the top, and ordered the chateaubriand, and the slow cooked pork ribs.  the steak was a perfect medium rare and wonderfully tender.  the ribs were unbelievably good, with the meat falling off the bone and the sauce incredibly tasty and delicious.  for sides we had a beautifully creamy mac n cheese, as well as the creamed spinach and fries.  the portions were generous and everything was served hot, and tasted fresh.  we washed this down with a reasonably price bottle of red.

unsurprisingly we did not have room for dessert, and waddled off back to our hotel planning our next visit! 

the only element the lexington falls down on is atmosphere, i think this place would do so well if it was in dubai as the quality of food and service sit far above what's on offer at the moment.  hopefully this will make an appearance in dubai soon, otherwise it's definitely recommended if you are looking for an amazing meal in rak!

didn’t reach our expectations at all... we’re waiting steaks for 50 min andrestauranthas only few tables occupied. price doesn’t equal to quality at all.

order special salad with smoked duck - to say it was salad with duck - to not say anything : literally huge stone plate with cutted nuts and apple between you can find with loop 3 pieces of slice meat - even my cat will be hungry after this portion )

happy with the service.restaurantmanager was great and very welcoming. unfortunately the chateau briand was fully sold out but you can’t blame them for that as it’s a crowd favourite.

overall, a great eating experience and they have soft pillows to lie and rest on after a good feed.

must say that one of the best in uae. i stayed at anantara before this and was extremely disappointed but waldorf astoria has restored my faith in the resorts here. the rooms and amenities are top notch, service and staff are friendly and fast, the food is unbeatable and the view is just mind blowing. all the restaurants are good but we didn’t get a chance to try the japanese cuisine however i would like to give a 11 on 10 to lenxington grill. the waldorf salad and rib eye usd steak is out of the world. they also serve many types of wine of which i had heard the portugal astonia is good so i tried it and it just over exceeded my expectations like everything else. azure, the italianrestaurantis also one of my favorites. the veal risotto and chicken caesar salad was scrumptious and tasty. the portions are perfect and the food is just worth every cent.

ordered a 250g aussie wagyu sirloin and a 200g green bay tenderloin - both were well-rested, beautifully seasoned and cooked exceptionally well, to our liking; medium rare. 

service was spot on, from the moment we walked in. our server was helpful and very attentive. we weren't sure which sauce to order along with our steaks, so he brought us a few. we had a 3 sides, creamed asparagus, wild mushrooms and the hand cut chips - all were decent portions and very tasty.

in retrospect, i wish we had belly space for starters and dessert - if their main meals were anything to go by, no doubt we would have thoroughly enjoyed it.

overall, we had an amazing time here and would highly recommend thisrestaurantto anyone in ras al khaimah and in the mood for steak.

the lexington grill was arestauranteveryone had mentioned so as being steak lovers we had to give it a try. we visited the day before and spoke to man on front of house who was very friendly told us all about therestaurantand others within the waldorf we appreciated his time and booked for the following day. he took our names and asked if it was a special occasion we mentioned we were in holiday.

we arrived and were greater by the staff by our married name and a book table had been reserved for us. the staff were so helpful and chatted through the various steaks - we decided upon the mixed selection as wasn't disappointed as got to taste a bit of everything they have to offer it included , steak, short ribs, prawn and lobster. the food, service and staff could not be faulted. it was a lovely touch when they appeared with a cake saying happy honeymoon and a congratulations card signed by all the staff.

i would recommend thisrestaurantbut it is on the pricey side so be prepared!

possibly the best steak ever tried in uae, we had the rare to medium done tenderloin which was cooked to perfection. also tried the grilled jumbo prawns and they were lip smacking good. therestaurantis perfect for a romantic dinner with the dim lighting and very classy decor. not to mention the service was flawless and our server was very knowledgeable and was quick to suggest options to suit our taste. they also had a brilliant selection of wines to pair with the food making it just the perfect place for a special evening.

you know that a place is popular when they've been overbooked a week in advance. we had our name down on their waiting list and given that we drove all the way from dubai for the dry aged steak, the manager was kind enough to seat us for a quick bite as soon as therestaurantopened.

dry aged steak- never had it before, and please do correct me if i'm wrong but they seem to be one of the onlyrestaurantserving it in the uae.

they did mention that they typically recommend the sirloin to women as there's less fat.. not going to lie, i do enjoy ribeye more, but we had to order both the available cuts for tasting purposes- sirloin and ribeye- medium.

the amuse-bouche, wine recommendation, bread selection with butter and smoked salt accompaniment were all absolutely stunning. the second we were offered a range of knives to select from for our steaks, we knew something great was yet to come. and we were not disappointed. at the end of the day, one really can't compare the sirloin with the ribeye as they're so different, but as i said- i do prefer a good ribeye. the fat just makes it all the more flavorful.

we ordered the truffle mash, corn on the cob and wild mushroom sauce- none of them failed to disappoint.

i left the table shortly after my main, however, my partner did inform me that they brought out a tiny dessert sampler at the end to try. i so wish i had stayed back but this is something to look forward to for the next time we're on rak. cheers!

the staff at lexington grill exceeded my already high expectations. one of our servers could have penned an entire essay just on knives! i loved their passion for everything from cuts of steak to varieties of wine and choice of cutlery. fun fact: the interior decor of thisrestauranthas been crafted to reflect the marbling in meat. that kicks mcdonald's "red and yellow" color psychology trick to the curb. lexington offers dinner and a show with the dramatic preparation of the monroe - a cocktail served in a cloud of smoke. one of the many jewels in the waldorf astoria's crown.

excellent steaks is what you can expect at this specialist steak house in one of uae's grand hotels. therestauranthas a nice cosy ambience and the service staff are really helpful and eager to please.

have been there a couple of times and will be going there again soon.

one of the best steaks i've had in uae in a kinda sleepy yet nice restaurant.

food first, loved the tenderloin done medium to rare paired with some nice single malt my wife ordered grilled king prawns which was great as well.

the place was a bit sleepy & service a tad slow but we were in no hurry so had a lovely dinner while staying at the hotel.

alert: thisrestaurantis closed on tuesdays for some odd reason!

definitely one of the best steakhouses in the uae. we have visited lexington grill 2 weeks ago, and i am certain that there has been a change in service, pricing and menu... 

zomato will have to update the uploaded menus accordingly. the waldorf salad sadly is not longer on their menu... they have the decompressed waldorf salad now... their chateaubriand, is surely not 420 aed, and costs around 480 (can't remember the price anymore).. but i'm sure the menu has been amended.

my husband and i ordered the decompressed waldorf salad, buffalo mozarella salad with basil, and the chateaubriand to share.  the decompressed waldorf salad is unbelievably flavorful and disappointingly small! we were sharing the appetizers, and this portion could be barely serve a kid. the buffalo salad is very rich and creamy, it's a must try!! the chateaubriand was cooked and served to our liking medium rare and hot from the inside. they offered us all the homemade sauces to accompany it to taste from... our favorite was the red wine! we also loved the selection of salts (himalayan etc...) which were also served to us to garnish the steak..

we got to learn that their executive chef used to be the executive chaf of the rib room, so no wonder why our steaks were cooked to perfection and to our liking... 

the chef, and f&b manager visited our table twice to ensure that everything was done correctly. service was impeccable. we were celebrating our anniversary, so they offered us a chocolate mousse cake, and wine for free.. that was so sweet of them.

we recommend thisrestaurantto the carnivores!

this is a difficult one. i can't say i didn't enjoy the food, in fact i liked it. i went for the t-bone medium rare, it came medium but i'm not complaining. whilst we were waiting we had the waiter come 3 times with other people's food to our table, not a good sign.

and this is the crux of the problem here, the staff are a friendly bunch but not trained/ capable: a bit like your mates serving you. we had to wait 40 mins for our mains 30 mins for our bill. the food was good but not perfect. you can get better. not a signaturerestaurantin a 6* hotel standard.

if i paid half the price it would be 5 stars but at these prices and this hotel, i have to say i enjoyed my meal but left dissapointed.
