lemongrass sushi & wok

really fresh. we went there this past week and wow...so much better than rain. it was very fresh and i liked how the spicy tunarollshad full pieces of tuna, not the ground up stuff. the tempurarollswere great and it was very reasonable.

sewergrass. the first thing i noticed was the smell, and we should have walked out then. therollswere not good, and after eating less then half of the 3rollsand 2 beers the $70 charge was icing on the cake.

the worst food i've ever had. flavorless and a funky taste. chicken was sour and slimy the fried springrollswere burnt to a crisp and no flavor. horrible. don't waste your money.

what happened?. since my last visit earlier this year, lemongrass sushi & wok must have changed hands. instead of ordering as you walk in, you are now seated at a table and a server takes your order. the booths are gone and in their place are benches. the paint is off of the walls where the old booths were but no one bothered to touch up the paint- how sad. the sushi we were served smelled like old fish, a big indication that it was not fresh at all.rollswere horrible. waitress didn't seem surprised that we didn't like them and offered to bring us something else, but it was too late to try another potentially bad dish. lettuce wraps were delicious however. we will scratch lemongrass sushi & wok off of our list and head down the street to bangkok tokyo.

nice choice @ western & i-40. a recent lunch visit was a nice experience. you order as you walk in- the menu is is on the wall or you can take a menu to a table to look over, then return to the counter to place your order. you pay when you order, so if you are using plastic you have to add your tip in then. risky to tip before you dine, but luckily our server was great. egg drop soup isn't amarillo's best (must visit thai star), but tasty. summerrollsare either shrimp or chicken- we tried chicken for a change and they were fresh and flavorful (for better ones try thai palace or ly's). california roll was good, a bit heavy on the rice though. kung pao chicken was delicious, great sauce and spice with dried peppers. i wouldn't call it spicy, but a bit above mild. the jasmine rice was light and delicious. our server was great- we never had an empty glass and he made sure everything was wonderful. another person (owner?) also checked on us, and we were greeted as we entered and left. wine is also available. we will return and try more items!

outstanding. we enjoyed the food, price, and selection. the atmosphere is nice and not overbearing with loud music, nor is the restaurant over decorated. our waiter was a super cool fellow, very attentive but not always interrupting the meal. we had a chance to meet the owner who politely asked our opinion; he was a well mannered gentleman, who seemed genuinely interested in our opinions. the food was great, i had 2 different sushirollsand fried rice, my wife had 1 sushi roll and dumplings. nothing out of place or overbearing in flavor, just as anticipated. the food was presented well on the plates and "sauced" correctly (for my taste), not too much to remove the other flavors. the staff was knowledgeable and willing to answer the seemingly simplest of questions, being that we are sushi novices. we decided we found our new favorite asian restaurant.

best sushi and springrollsi have had in amarillo!! it is very inexpensive and delicious!!
