really good food in a beautiful location!
this restaurant is about more than just serving food. it's a whole experience. you can take a scenic walk through the vegetable garden and orchards, where they grow many of the ingredients used in their dishes. or you can lie on the lush grass and soak up some sunlight. the restaurant has a very laid-back feel to it and the views from the outside tables are stunning. the only issue with eating outside is that you get quite a lot of bees buzzing around your drinks and food.
we had the sunday lunch buffet, and between the four of us, we tried pretty much everything on the menu. there were many different options and most of the food was very flavourful (which is often not the case with healthy vegetarian/vegan restaurants). my personal favourites were the pizza slices, the creamy broccoli and cauliflower, the cabbage "meat" balls, the french onion dip, the sprout salad, the iced tea and the malted carob drink. the sushi was the only food that i found rather flavourless (or maybe i just didn't see the sauce that goes with it). the one downside of having the buffet is that it is difficult to determine whether the food contains ingredients to which you may be allergic. i think that the restaurant should have more descriptive name cards with a list of allergens for each item on the buffet table.
all-in-all it was a wonderfully relaxing sunday afternoon out. for anyone that cares about healthy, plant-based and sustainable eating, a visit to this restaurant is an absolute must. they even use biodegradable straws!
