had a bad experience today with the customer service here. i went with my family which had my parents and grandparents. we had to literally call some to attend to us everytime we needed something as simple as a bottle of water. noone was at the entrance for checkingnreservations or to say which table can we sit at. food arrived 40 mins late , and we really felt they treated us different because we opted for a la carte instead of their buffet. the staff was least interested in serving us and they served the starters after main course was over. we asked for lemon hand bath since the washroom was in the main lobby. the waiter said i'm sending it and it never really arrived. the only thing that came really fast was when we asked for the bill. expected a very customer friendly enviroment from such a reputable organization, considering the price we pay for all the overpriced dishes. my advice, go for the lunch buffet maybe, but never opt for a la carte, because their customer handling is really bad and your family will not enjoy theirtimehere.

been to le meridian for so many times.... the ambience is really good. my family has celebrated many of our family celebrations. we always have a good family time. thistimei was at latest recipes. we were celebrating my birthday and the staff surprised us with a cake which was a very heart warming gesture from their side.

talking about the food. my kids enjoyed pizza. pizza counter gave them an chance to decide what they wanted in a pizza. but comparing to my last few visits i was not impressed by the spread. live counters took lot of time. seafood options were very few.

staff was very helpful but delay to serve beverages and especially water needs some serious attention. they were kids friendly which saved me lot of walking up n down. overall we had a very good time.

stayed in le maredian for a longtimeand was able to taste there buffet services at there restaurant 'latest recipe'
starting off the breakfast buffet is a very normal thing offers the standard bakery, fruits, north indian and south indian dishes.
coming to the lunch buffet it's a carefully planned thing so that the guest are able to have a taste of the local food along with the international and indian cuisine. the chef's at latest recipe's' try their best to give the authentic local still keeping the spices mild so that all the guest can enjoy. there is an elaborate variety of salads and deserts.
at the dinner buffet the restaurant keeps coming up with events we were able to attend the tandoori nights and the bengali food fest.. the food on both times was amazing.. the buffet at the restaurant are really worth their cost and a must try..

this place is one of the finest restaurants in kochi. i have been a hardcore patron of this place from a longtime. whenever in kochi it's always on my bucket list to come down and taste the lovely hospitality of this place . the food here is extremely awesome . the ambience and the service are above expectations . i must mention the way the staff treat you here . mr ranjan who's a chef is a highly professional and does take care of his guests who visit the restaurant . been here more than a 8 to 9 times in the last 6 to 7 months and never has the cusine of this place failed to delight me . from the breakfast spread which is like wow to the dinner menu has been astounding . one must also try the nasegoreng and the fish preparations here from the alacarte menu. i must say a must visit place in cochin . so 101 out of 100 to this lovely place . thank you for the lovely service to the staff of this property. cheers to le meridian .

i never do negative reviews usually. if the experience is bad i jjst leave it as it is and never go bqck that is all. but this was unbelievably awful. especially coming from a place like le meridien. went for a lunch buffet there. never had experienced such worse attitude from any other hotels.
they switch off ac sharp at 3:00pm. they don't even care whether there are diners left or not.
before 3 itself they will start clearing all the items and stopped refilling items right after 2:30 itself. diners were not informed that they will stop refilling items even before 3pm. a person came and asked us what we want from live counters and we gave the order. and he disappeared. we didnt get our order. then we ourselves went to the counter and placed. one ray of hope was the chef in north indian section and the boys who promptly cleared the plates by thetimewe came back.
many desserts were not refilled and the items drastically reduced.
overall will not recommend at all. especially in kochi when we have better places near to le meridien itself which provide better service and spread.

hi i love it kathi rolls. just one suggestion from my side. these rolls either be veg or non veg goes with a mint chutney and some salted onion rings. ketchup is not at all suitable with these rolls. i hope u guys take this review seriously and nexttimewhen we order this.
will see some changes... reducing one star for this only.

was staying in this hotel so had a natural chance at hitting this restaurant for breakfast. first appreciation to chef balamurali for making an amazing mysore masala and world class appams! he's a magician, anticipating our needs always! the spread is plenty but not too enticing. the pancake and omlette station need some serious re boot. the staff asks you for a table number everytimeyou order an omelet, water needs to be requested atleast 5 times before you get it, filter coffee gets replaced by a black coffee,so on and so forth..it's a buffet breakfast, but they have so many things they can do with it. the kerala breakfast station is intense with some serious flavors coming out its undoubtedly the best if you love the spicy, wide variety and nostalgic breakfast spreads! but i give a flying shout-out to the lengthy buffet its worth a visit..

le meridien is a brand that always elevated kochi to next level. infact, it is one of kerala's biggest convention hub. so naturally, i was expecting a much premium level buffet service.

unfortunately i was disappointed to the core. been to several le meridien across india and outside, so i must say, the lunch buffet is one of the most ordinary, perhaps more fit for a 4 star hotel than the levels of le meridien.

i cannot say, the food was bland or tasteless. infact it was tasty. but the options were too little that i believe fits more for a 4 star hotel than a 5-star hotel, especially when le-meridien has a worldwide repute as gastronomic's paradise.

i feel if compared to its competitor brands like marriott in kochi (please see my review about marriott), le meridien's flagship restaurant- the latest recipe stands no where. i am not intending for a direct comparison as the rates were different and probably the uninspiring nature of le meridien's buffet may explain its lower rates.

there were around 5 salads + assorted veggies on the day i visited. i personally loved the german potato salad and the grilled chicken salad. but rest all where ordinary, something we can cook at our homes. i was surprised to see how our normal papaya thoran being presented as a salad, which was just average.

the breads were okay, especially the onion bread. the options were limited to just a country bread, onion bread, and few rolls. but surprised to see butter are made available on request, not kept as an option either on the buffet or on the table. two soups were there, which i didn't try, so not commenting.

there is a pasta station, but no board listing the options. we need to ask the chefs about the options. but still i would say, i loved the pasta as the best dish in the whole buffet. however, the preparation took ages to reach to our desk. infact we almost finished the buffet, when the pasta which we ordered first arrived and i had to cancel one option it was ordered for one of our group member who had her tummy full by then. i don't know whether its fair to complain because i felt they were making fresh pasta. still they could have told us, that it will take some time.

in main course there was 1 chicken kadai (north indian dish), one continental chicken dish (guess it was baked chicken with potato wedges), one fish dish, one mutton dish. the fish was okay-okay. it wasn't bad nor excellent.

chicken kadai was really good. it was highly authentic and really good. the continental chicken was too bland, but the worst to complain was it was as cold as taken freshly from fridge despite of listing as a hot food. i complained to the chef, who removed it. but by thetimehe brought, we almost finished our food.  mutton too was not hot enough, but still okay as it was warm. average fare.

coming to veg, i tried only the paneer dish. it was fair enough. there were 2 more other options which we didn't go thro'. tried hakka veg noodles which were cooked by the chef in front of us and served. that was good, though oily. the 2 rice options were average.

the chef at paratha station couldn't tell us what all options he can offer. he said, there was only naan (plain and butter), tandoori roti etc. when one man asked do you have aloo, he said no, immediately a senior chef came and said yes. so he and i ordered one aloo paratha each. its hard to believe, that single paratha took 25 mins to reach our table. the waiter later said, these orders will taketimeand we decided not to order any more aloo paratha considering thetimeframe required for one paratha.

coming to sweets option, it was too limited. they had 3 pastries (brownie, strawberry cheesecake, and mango sorbet cake), umm ali and ada payasam. umm ali was just average, perhaps local arabic cafes in kochi can make much better than this one. ada payasam was normal fare.

coming to ice-creams, they have a coldstone for ice-cream mixing and hence a dessert chef was there at the counter to offer ice-cream. but thetimehe takes to mix those ice-creams were mindblowing.... i calculated using a stopwatch. its exactly 14 mins-21 seconds to mix just one small kid scope of chocolate with another similar sized butterscotch. i don't understand why he needs so muchtimeto just mix two ice-creams, that too without any toppings or even a sauce. infact nearly 1 hour was lost in this process of getting ice-creams to our table. in meantime, some of our members even had a walk in nearby gardens.

the waiters were good enough, but they were helpless with the extremely slow cooking process. infact my main complaint will be this erratic delays to get the dish on the table.

towards the end, the waiter who was assisting our table also started helping in ice cream counter as even some other people in other tables were complaining.

i won't say the food was bad or lack tasty. but there is a purpose in coming to a 5 star brand as we expect something premium. unfortunately, there isn't anything premium, rather a much ordinary. even some 3 star/4 star hotels in kochi serves much bigger and better one.

anyway, one won't feel cheated as the rate is low, just less than 750 rs per head inclusive of taxes. but not the premiumness that you expect from such a brand.

this is the secondtimein the last few months that i have come here for dinner and gone away thoroughly disappointed. very uninspiring spread for the buffet, erratic service and a dull melancholy feel at the restaurant. they definitely need to infuse life into this place.
