nostalgia thats relevant. the last resort cafe probably should be re-named try here first!! this truly relaxed & warm, cozy atmosphered haunt, easily makes up for the wait, which you almost always have, unless you're like megalotto lucky -lol- from a biz standpoint, i can see both sides to the "to take reservations or not to" debate. it's a shame for the restaurant to lose the many, many folks b/c they don't have the patience to wait if the place is busy, but perhaps this adds to the charm and "homemade exclusiveness" draw to make up for it! i can only hope they try again and eventually give it a try. food is absolutely terrific and i especially loved the praline chicken --but you must, i mean must, save room for desserts which are among the best in athens.servicei guess varies, depending, but not enough to bother me, considering the set-up and busy-ness. great place for sunday brunch, and the day i went last year -there was no wait!! i have no kids of my own, and love them, but resort is not well suited for the youngsters, unless you're willing to be disappointed with service, etc. -do yourself a favor! prices, for the quality, are amazing! give yourself a treat and go to the first, i mean last resort, as much as possible. bon appetit and bon a mi.
