only critism is the layout and figuring out how to get a table. it's tucked around the corner upon entry. aside from that food was amazing and great portion sizes. coffee was also great.staffwere friendly and attentive. definitely coming here again when i am on the area.

food wasn’t amazing but nice enough for a quick feed. would’ve given a higher rating but thestaffwere rude and not helpful at all. i think if they had a better and friendly atmosphere it’ll be much more enjoyable.

what an absolute debacle,
not only is this place ridiculously overpriced, the quality is well abysmal.
waited over half an hour for a coffee that was sour and luke warm, obviously none of the baristas know what they’re doing. might want to invest in some real baristas… and as for my breakfast, yuck, paid far to much for something i wouldn’t feed to my dog. none of thestaffseemed to be wearing their masks properly or seemed to care once i told them about my experience… i will not be back and will be telling everyone i know about how atrocious this place is.. i would give a zero if it was possible

a very overhyped and average cafe. been here twice, decided to give it a second shot after being quite disappointed the first time hence my overcooked eggs burnt bread and hefty bill at the end.
came with a group of 5 and ordered a toastie to avoid disappointment yet it was not melted, and again overpriced. atmosphere was below average and waitstaffwere not enthused nor were they friendly. my friend ordered a juice and was given a coffee instead, and waitress insisted she just keep the coffee instead of what she asked for.
a dollar surcharge for scrambled eggs also frazzled me and the price vs quality ratio was completely out of wack, won’t be returning on my next trip to the peninsula

restaurant was not clean,staffseemed confused. ordered a juice, waitress brought me a coffee and i told her we didn’t a order that she then asked if i wanted the juice instead. not instead i just wanted what i ordered for, but hey mistakes happen. no cutlery was given, no prices in the display fridge and food was quite overpriced

my parents are regulars at laneway and always take us when we visit the peninsula. thestaffare friendly, the coffee is spot on, the food is delicious, and the vibe of the place is perfect. love our casual brunches by the bay at this place!

where to even start..
the café’s interior and styling is unlike anything i’ve seen before. it really screamed local coastal town hot spot! very busy! thestaffwere really wonderful and friendly. thank you for making our mornings so memorable!

we tried some delicious dishes that they have to offer on their menu. we were really impressed with some of their choices. for example, they have a thinly cut bread. no more having to use a steak knife to cut through your toast.. it is perfect for cutting and does not fill you up completely just from bread too.

seriously one of the best smashed avo’s i have had all year! delicious! thankyou for bringing back my love for this classic brunch favourite.

another favourite of mine. the flavours were do unique and really delicious to start my day with!

laneway waffles
such a standout! usually with sweet dishes you can leave feeling like you’ve had too much and a bit ill… but this sweet dish has been done in such a way that you don’t feel sickly sweet afterwards. really subtle, deliciously good.

roasted mushrooms
the flavours within the mushroom was exceptionally tasty. my favourite element of the dish!

mediterranean breakfast
once again, the unique dish that laneway espresso plates up offers really different flavours and changes to our usual brunch classics.. which i love.

drinks – we ordered both juices, the karma rama and the green power. fantastic!

you’ll be looking around in awe at the venue until your food comes out.

we ordered the pancakes and they were so light & fluffy! they were also layered with nutella 🤤 the caramelised banana was a beautiful addition, and the ratio of maple syrup to pancake was perfect!

we also got the heirloom avocado
i’d had this dish 3 years ago and it has always been one of my favourite smashed av dishes.
it was so great to see that nothing had changed
simple. faultless. delicious.

my tip: get a piece of cheesecake to go. life changing.

i also just want to mention how nice it was to be in a community where everyone wants to chat and have a laugh with you.

quirky place with funky music. a real gem of a place on the peninsula. generous size breakfast my fave heirloom with 2 poached eggs. coffee on point. politestaffand child friendly the kids corner keeps my girls busy everytime we go. highly recommended to anyone looking for a quality breakfast and coffee.

set facing the beach a heritage decorated cafe.staffare professional and friendly. coffee smells awesome. smash pumpkin favour balanced with acidity and added nuts for crunchy texture. love the peacefulness sitting and resting after the long drive.

we've been here a few times. the owner is welcoming and happy to share what he knows about the antiques he has on sale (some are not, much to our disappointment), and hisstaffmake great coffee and food. we always enjoy dropping in and having a coffee or a meal in the sunshine among the olive trees. a very unique space that maintains its commitment to good food and exceptional service.

appalling service by lady (perhaps owner?) was so dismissive and rude when advising that the table we were directed to by one of thestaffwas reserved with no apology, that she might as well be ushering along anyone but paying patrons. i can understand it's a busy day, but that shouldn't be any excuse for rude service. what a joke. never coming back again.

this place is a reasonable staple for brekkie in dromana. food is ok- nothing wow-worthy but not terrible either ,staffare friendly, it's pretty busy most of the time and so food in the cabinets is turned over daily on weekends so generally fresh. portion sizes can be a bit hit and miss and sometimes i've needed to supplement brekkie. coffee is pretty good and there are usually a good number of newspapers to share around. this is all 'round ok.
