the best brunch in dromana, that’s for sure 👌🏻 every summer i come down for brunch here when i stay at my holiday house. the food and the coffee never disappoints 😁

the chocolate milkshake was absolutely amazing. per the bloke's recommendation at the counter, i went with soy milk to add some extra and much-loved thickness. now his advice must always be heeded. the eggs benny was good, the roasted mushroom was yummy, and the avocado mix was tasty. a nice, friendly atmosphere inside as well! hugs and hand pounds all around!

never had a bad meal or coffee from this place! i make a point of coming here every time i'm down on the peninsula. coffee is always spot on, eggs cooked to perfection, everything is very reasonably priced and they're so friendly!! perfect place to hang out in the lane way, watch the ocean, have a delicious coffee and and enjoy one of the beautiful homemade cakes! (made in house, totally worth it!!) treat yourself ;)

only critism is the layout and figuring out how to get a table. it's tucked around the corner upon entry. aside from that food was amazing and great portion sizes. coffee was also great. staff were friendly and attentive. definitely coming here again when i am on the area.

food wasn’t amazing but nice enough for a quick feed. would’ve given a higher rating but the staff were rude and not helpful at all. i think if they had a better and friendly atmosphere it’ll be much more enjoyable.

i think for the food i received it’s quite over priced. the chili eggs were a disappointment. it was just scrambled eggs on a sad piece of toast priced at 16 bucks or something. same with the croissant the bottom was soggy and the benny sauce was just a tiny blob. the coffee was just ok. and had to get in a big que to pay for the meal.

really upset to see this place go so down hill over the passed 12 months.
this place a year ago was making some of the best coffees that i’ve ever had.
very sad to see that they haven’t managed to hold on to their wonderful baristas from previous years….
i’ve been in several times over the passed week and each time the coffee has been well below par with long wait times and not being told the true wait time. as someone who has worked in the hospitality industry for over 20 years this is not how you should be running your business and you will soon lose so many of your customers..

what an absolute debacle,
not only is this place ridiculously overpriced, the quality is well abysmal.
waited over half an hour for a coffee that was sour and luke warm, obviously none of the baristas know what they’re doing. might want to invest in some real baristas… and as for my breakfast, yuck, paid far to much for something i wouldn’t feed to my dog. none of the staff seemed to be wearing their masks properly or seemed to care once i told them about my experience… i will not be back and will be telling everyone i know about how atrocious this place is.. i would give a zero if it was possible

i had a lovely brunch with friends at laneways espresso. it was a busy sunday morning so we were spread out over a couple of tables outside but that was fine.
i ordered the smashing pumpkin and added crispy bacon. the meal was delicious and really filling. i also ordered a weak mocha which was also nice.
the process of paying for our meals was very slow (the lady that was on the register may need some extra training).

a very overhyped and average cafe. been here twice, decided to give it a second shot after being quite disappointed the first time hence my overcooked eggs burnt bread and hefty bill at the end.
came with a group of 5 and ordered a toastie to avoid disappointment yet it was not melted, and again overpriced. atmosphere was below average and wait staff were not enthused nor were they friendly. my friend ordered a juice and was given a coffee instead, and waitress insisted she just keep the coffee instead of what she asked for.
a dollar surcharge for scrambled eggs also frazzled me and the price vs quality ratio was completely out of wack, won’t be returning on my next trip to the peninsula

restaurant was not clean, staff seemed confused. ordered a juice, waitress brought me a coffee and i told her we didn’t a order that she then asked if i wanted the juice instead. not instead i just wanted what i ordered for, but hey mistakes happen. no cutlery was given, no prices in the display fridge and food was quite overpriced

found in a small laneway off the main road (hence the name) i loved this cafe as soon as i walked in.

my parents are regulars at laneway and always take us when we visit the peninsula. the staff are friendly, the coffee is spot on, the food is delicious, and the vibe of the place is perfect. love our casual brunches by the bay at this place!

went there over our xmas beak, but just realised my previous review didn’t go through. the guy there (possibly the manager/owner) was super accommodating to our kids and made a special effort to fit us in even when they were fully packed. food and coffee was delicious and service was great. also has a nice ambience.
