i am sorry to have to give a poor review but the treatment of my group by the owner/chef lastnightwas less than acceptable. i made a booking for 9 for a celebration 2 weeks ago, and received text confirmation othat chef's menu was the only option at $70pp (no alc as it is byo) and a 8.15pm seating which we agreed to. when we arrived lastnightthey admitted their error by not having the reservation and were obviously stressed. but rather than being apologetic for the inconvenience and offering some compensation, he was pretty much "sorry not sorry". he did suggest going for a drink next door to juanita's (where we had just come from) to re-organise some seating but when one of my group expressed displeasure at the error given the late hour, we were told he could not seat us after all. i was disappointed for my group (it now being 8.30pm on a friday with no restaurants in walking distance and presents and champagne and no where to go!). i did say the complaint was just that he seemed really put out by our arrival and perhaps he could have been a bit regretful, may be offered a discount or voucher but he said no and that it was human error and seemed to really wanted us gone. he said we were holding him up from cooking inside. he really did not want our business, and my advice to readers is that maybe he won't want yours either.
