came for dinner, it’s a small venue with a mixed style of seating (long tall table with stools, 3 tables for 4 inside and seating outside. the staff were friendly and attentive. we ordered our meal and asked if we could have all dishes together as two were veg dishes to accompany the mains. unfortunately our veg dishes came out about 15 minutes before the mains. the broccoli dish is nice but a little overpriced. the saganaki was not as good as others i’ve tried but was a decent portion. the smashed peas were average. abitof mint would jazz it up. i had the lamb which was average. nothing special with over cooked potatoes. the takeaway custard tart was nice. nice flavour and good pastry. wouldn’t be my first choice of venue as i can cook this food at home myself pretty easily. it’s byo and i think the corkage may be $5 per person or per bottle as we got charged $20 for two bottles of wine and 2 bottles of beer between 4 people.

i am sorry to have to give a poor review but the treatment of my group by the owner/chef last night was less than acceptable. i made a booking for 9 for a celebration 2 weeks ago, and received text confirmation othat chef's menu was the only option at $70pp (no alc as it is byo) and a 8.15pm seating which we agreed to. when we arrived last night they admitted their error by not having the reservation and were obviously stressed. but rather than being apologetic for the inconvenience and offering some compensation, he was pretty much "sorry not sorry". he did suggest going for a drink next door to juanita's (where we had just come from) to re-organise some seating but when one of my group expressed displeasure at the error given the late hour, we were told he could not seat us after all. i was disappointed for my group (it now being 8.30pm on a friday with no restaurants in walking distance and presents and champagne and no where to go!). i did say the complaint was just that he seemed really put out by our arrival and perhaps he could have been abitregretful, may be offered a discount or voucher but he said no and that it was human error and seemed to really wanted us gone. he said we were holding him up from cooking inside. he really did not want our business, and my advice to readers is that maybe he won't want yours either.

have been here on many occasions usually in groups. small lively venue, please don't go if you're after a quiet night out. good food, abitexpensive but it is byo.

not sure why there are so many negative reviews on here- been here twice 1 year apart in time and i have had 5/5 experiences both times!
i agree that the place and serving sizes are quite small for the price but overall in a big group sharing lots of the dishes our dinner was $25/pp including our byo wine!
i must admit the booking system was not a problem as it was a weekday however i recognize that on a busy weekend it might be abitdifficult.
overall great night in a cosy spot 😃

food is always tasty, simple and authentic, with a home style feel. service is generally good but can be abithit and miss, particularly when busy. a somewhat frustrating sms booking service but there is always the option to have a drink next door and wait. can get noisy inside as it's quite tiny, but this adds to the overall cosy atmosphere.

a close friend booked this restaurant for 8pm. i've not had a dinner reservation that late since my twenties. we arrived ten minutes early to find them allegedly clearing out table , but after a while we had to ask where we would be sitting. they organised an outside table, brought water to the table and fetched a wine cooler for the byo bottle. then we were stranded for twenty minutes, no menu, no nothing.... the waiter eventually grabbed the blackboard which serves as the menu (how authentic) and we chose three dishes off that. things improved abitfrom there. the octopus was tender and tasty, the haloumi cheese was squeaky and delicious. the slow cooked lamb had plenty of flavour, albeit abitfatty and came served with pearl couscous on the side. we asked for the bill three times, it still didn't arrive so we made the move inside and asked the girl behind the counter if she'd like to take our money. $70 for two, abitsteep maybe.
quite tasty food, great they allow byo, let down by service.

second time here and was abitdisappointed. the first time was better. cosy spot where you sit on little tables - wasn't enough space for all the plates and sit quite close to other guests, got abitloud at times inside. only 5 spears of asparagus on a mediocre sauce, snapper was ok nothing special, eggplant was charred abittoo much and burnt in some places, tahini sauce could have been thinned out abitmore, spanakopita was good. good that it is byo but it should have been made known it was $5 corkage each. only found out when we looked at the bill. was hard to get the waitress's attention for ordering and getting the bill. lots of potential but could be better.
