literally everything we ordered was the most delicious items ever to have eaten from a bakery. the bread is sooo lovely- crunchy on the outside and soft and chewy on the inside. omg the praline macaron! god it was to die for. the chocolate and coffee mouse cake the absolute best. absolutely divine. i went at 11am on a sunday and there were about 8 groups in the line in front of me. got in about 10-15min later and i could see there was food already sold out so i’m coming at openingtimenext time!

i came to the french bakery around 1 o'clock on wednesday. i was full of expectations, but unfortunately the cabinet food was almost empty. i asked the lady at the till when is the besttimeto come for more variety, she answered it will be around 9 or 10am. however 2 kind of sweets which i could get that day were both nice, almind croissant + apricot danish, $4 each.

great bread, great coffee and loved the pastry! staff was very friendly and although there are coming customers in all the time, they taketimeto explain their products and still make sure other customers get served quickly.
i loved the french flair and the board with the french word of the day. what a nice idea!
make sure you ll come here early as favorites get sold out quickly.
will definitely come back! yum!

good, this is a good average french bakery. nothing amazing, most of thetimea wee bit overcooked (for my taste)... it is still a great place for auckland. worth giving it a try and make your own mind.

great place for pastries and quiet authentic, their banquettes are the best in auckland, a nice crisp to the outside and a tenderness on the inside which make them great for sandwiches. i've tried a entirety of their pastries but my alltimefavourite would have to be their raspberry tart, a great match of sweetness and tangy tartness from the raspberries. well worth a visit!

la voie francaise is one of auckland's best kept secrets and is undoubtedly one of the best bakeries the city has to offer. incredibly modest, the creations of this japanese run, french bakery are marvelously creative and well executed. there are so many of them it's hard to list but in true artisan bakery tradition, each hour brings different products so that freshness is never in doubt. sometimes it is annoying to have to go at a specifictimeto have your favourites, but some may see this as just more reason to bow to their perfectionistic approach to baking.

been back for a 100 times!!

its really nice to have something quick for breakfast and if you are in a budget budget but want something very nice to eat in the morning or brunch time, well, come and visit la voie. smell the freshly baked breads they make in hundreds everyday as they've got an open kitchen here. i have tried most of whats in the shop.

the eclaire here for example is not saggy and its got that nice crust in it, the cannelle is always as amazing as usual, nice crust on the outside a bit chewy in the inside, the far breton, cakes, oatmeal breads, brioche and baquettes are all baked with love. my favourite is the croque monsieur, simplicity at its best with ham, bechamel, cheese and a nice bread! well done, though fromtimetotimei get really bad coffee, i will still be back.

" little secret: you have probably ate their bread in some of your favorite fine dining places and cafe here in auckland "

great baguettes - crunchy on the ourside, salty and soft on the inside. don't be put off by the queue because it gives youtimeto choose what you want and it actually moves really fast. their sweet offerings were a bit fruit-heavy for my taste but it makes sense given that it's summer. i would have loved to have seen some more non-fruit french pastries like opera cake or rum babas or paris-brest. the caramel eclair i got had a crisp eggy choux but was leaning towards being almost burnt, but still edible. the caramel cream patissier filling was abundant and not sickly sweet and the smear of caramel icing was nice and thin so didn't overwhelm with sweetness either. i shall just have to buy another one sometimeto compare the choux pastry!
i was disappointed with my pistachio macaron however because the buttercream filling had dabs of a berry jam in it! it was a not very nice surprise when i hit the jam and it overpowered the delicate pistachio flavour. i am sure it was a good quality jam and i can see how one would think that the flavours might complement each other, but being someone who isn't a big fan of fruit flavours it ruined the macaron for me. the macarons were really big, so good value, but nexttimei'll quiz them a bit more about their macaron fillings. the savoury items looked really yummy. i'll definitely come back to try some more goodies.

we love coming here for a sunday breakfast. be warned that early is best as it gets packed pretty quickly and there's not much parking available.
i normally always get a cabonos (frankfurters in a wheel of bread) and a cravate (brioche roll with custard and chocolate chips inside). my boyfriend normally gets an egg and bacon bap but has started to opt for the cabonos too.
the coffee isn't too bad and the staff are friendly. my main problem is trying to pronounce everything and i normally end up pointing like an idiot. never mind.
definitely worth a stop if you're in the area and not badly priced either. i like to change my order up every now and then and will go for a croquet monsieur nexttimeas they look amazing.

this is the first and only 'french' bakery that i've found in nz that comes close to the real deal. the firsttimei tasted their baguette i thought i was back in france.

absolutely outstanding. this bakery is seriously at the top of his game - we are lucky to have him here.

great bread.
ok prices- although these have just increased by up to 20%.
slow service is your achilles heel. when anyone orders a coffee the service grinds to a standstill and the lovely owner yells "service" to attract the attention of one of the kids out the back.
you need to streamline coffee orders and have a better system in place so those of us who want some bread to have for breakfast can do just that.
half thetimewhen i arrive after 8.30 on a saturday morning they have run out of baguettes... this is now getting a little silly... maybe spend moretimebaking bread and lesstimeon fancy norwegian salmon rolls at thistimeof the day?
almost 5 stars for quality of baking, 2 stars for service.

this place is amazing - i live on the shore, but can't stop coming back here. the macaroons are to die for and so reasonably priced. everytimei come here, i leave with something different. most things are gone already when i have stopped in, so i can't wait to get there in the morning one day when the place is stocked! it is obviously popular and rightly so. one of auckland's best kept secrets.
