yes this is a great bakery with yummy treats so reasonably priced! and while there is often a queue, the service is fast. the only thing about thisplaceis that their coffee needs to improve and then it is a one stop shop. i have to buy coffee elsewhere as my one purchase of a coffee was really bad. hopefully they will improve this!

going for a date at the beach, i was craving some delightful french treats to go along with a sunny day of water and fun.

having read a few reviews, we knew that it was essential to get to thisplacea bit earlier to avoid the lines and to have the whole range of treats avalible.

to our surprise, theplacewas still packed at around 9 am, but thankfully they looked like they had quite a lot of stock left.

we ordered a variety of french delights and they all tasted fabulous but i must say the ratatouille toast and chocolate croissant were favourites.

showstopper: all the baking was nice and buttery. good service amongst the chaos as well.

overall grade: a. such beautiful and tasty food at an unbelievable cost.

loved their blue cheese with mushrooms on toast. it's a gemplace- their pork sandwiches, croissants baguette, chocolate eclair, bacon twist /roll was piping hot when i bought them. especially in the weekend mornings a 10 mins wait queue which means their bread and pastry are fresh from oven. great coffee too. not much seats more of takeaway concept. feels like your in france after eating their baguette :) never fails.

i have been trying their bread ever since they opened. i must say that i have yet to encounter a better bakery in all of auckland .

the pastries are crisp and flaky while the sandwiches combines their delicious bread and fresh ingredients to create the optimum savoriness. i have tried all the sandwiches they offer; in my opinion the best sandwich they offer is the ham and cheese. in terms of pastry, the croissants are simply the best (chocolate, normal or almond, they are all equally delicious). the cravate they offer deserve an honorable mention since it contains the optimum combination of sweetness through the use of slightly bitter chocolate and brioche bread , however, the chocolate usually only cover 3/4 of the bread, resulting in 1/4 of the cravate being simply sweet bread (still, not too bad if eaten with coffee).

the bread they have on offer completely crushes all other bakery in all of auckland. whether is it the baguette, white loaf, brioche.etc, they are all of the highest quality. i particularly enjoy their baguette, which has a crunchy exterior and a chewy interior. it tastes so good that one could eat the whole stick by itself as a snack without needing any sauces or fillings.

all the desserts they offer are all sublime( eclairs, chocolate tarts, mousse slices, macrons .etc). one cannot go wrong with trying any of them, but in my opinion the chocolate tart surpasses all other desserts. the chocolate tart contains three pieces of meringue placed around a tower of sweet cream on top of it. when one bites into the tart,&; all of three components harmonize together to form a crunchy, silky, chocolaty, not-overbearingly-sweet flavor.

the coffee they offer is quite smooth and delicious as well, however, i am not an expert coffee drinker so i cannot really make any absolute judgement. i have to say that it does go well with their bread and dessert offerings.

in terms of interior design they have renovated quite a bit since first opening. their latest look prioritizes line efficiency, allowing people to reach the counter and ordering quickly(line could be 10 people long and in less than 3 minutes one couldplacetheir order). it is also quite beautiful and modern. note, i do not care too much about ambiance of a bakery as long as it looks welcoming and clean thus my opinion could potentially differ from others.

one of the most important factor influencing someone buying from a bakery is the price of the products. i am happy to state that this bakery is extremely fair priced, especially when the sheer quality of its products are so high. most pastries most go over $5, desserts usually well below $6 and sandwiches around $5.5. i usually buy 1 dessert/pastry, 1 sandwich and 1 small coffee and i pay around $10 each time. taking into account their high demand, they could have most likely increased the price of their products significantly but their price has not changed too much since opening (accounting for inflation).

overall the delicious products, low cost and modern ambiance pushes this bakery well above all others in auckland.

out of 100, 100.

hands down my favourite bakery in auckland. the only “negative” thing about thisplaceis everything i sold out very quickly so because they are so good and there’s always a bit queue especially on the weekend. but service is always quick and impeccable. perfectplacefor french treats.

the onlyplacein auckland i know that sells clavate. chocolate and custard sandwiches brioche. i first ate them in nice and never thought i’d walk into one in nz.

you have to be quick if you want to get the best range, head there before 9 am, regardless of weekday or weekend.

the price is very reasonable, and although the sandwich seems small it’s very filling and satisfying. really good value for money is sausage inside sourdough pastry - has some mustard inside. it’s very delicious although quite cheap. good coffee too.

if they had seats to dine in, it would be amazing.

good, this is a good average french bakery. nothing amazing, most of the time a wee bit overcooked (for my taste)... it is still a greatplacefor auckland. worth giving it a try and make your own mind.

i've heard good things about thisplacefrom a workmate (long queues from early mornings) and it wasn't until a friend coincidentally bought a festive cake from this bakery, that i finally made it here!! i was excited to try their pastries.

they bought a cake and i bought myself an almond croissant (cannot resist) and also 2 macaroons.

i must say, the price was very reasonable!! my croissant was $3.50 and was a good size too. the pastry was buttery and i loved the filling. just the right amount of sweetness and wasn't too nutty.
the festive cake they bought was amazingggg! was pretty much an almond croissant on steroids. delicious.

macaroons however were disappointing as it was too sugary for my liking and not much flavour. but i have not much to compare to as i have never had an actual french version.

service was very nice, they were actually french! the bakery has simple decor but very french feeling. i liked it.

would definitely be back if i crave more pastries :) glad to know there is a simple humble bakery so close to town!

greatplacefor pastries and quiet authentic, their banquettes are the best in auckland, a nice crisp to the outside and a tenderness on the inside which make them great for sandwiches. i've tried a entirety of their pastries but my all time favourite would have to be their raspberry tart, a great match of sweetness and tangy tartness from the raspberries. well worth a visit!

thisplaceis so good i almost didn't want to write this review and just keep it to myself. everything is delicious but the standouts for the me are the brioche (so light) and the canelles (perfect...crunchy outside and custardy in the middle)
the bread is excellent too.
they have a couple of tables where you can have a coffee and eat, and parking is generally fairly good with space directly outside
