la vie parisienne

i used to love this place actually. back when it was simple and quaint. it is understandable that one is looking to expand the business, however in doing so, they've overdone it a bit and lost their charm and the "exclusivity" feel. my family and friends rarely go here anymore which is sad.

ambience:: 4/5 true enough, it is a sight to see and a photo op material for location. place is well-lit outside. the restaurant (la maison rose), is on the 1st floor of the pink house. tables are limited, so it will do you good to call in advance and reserve. there is an area which you could hold a small gathering (but limited to 10-12 only - private parties). the second floor is utilized for alliance française de cebu. there's a patisserie/delicatessen on the right side with an ice cream/gelatto area and apizza& pasta further inside. not sure what else they've added. the one thing they should really work on is parking.

food:: 3/5 the only thing i love in their delicatessen/patisserie is the croissant. it's the real deal french butter croissant! that being said, the restaurant's food is not bad. not that great either. thepizzaand pasta was a meh. wine is definitely cheap for those who just came out to get a buzz or "socialize" but for wine connoisseurs, they also have their list of wines to choose from.

service & staff:: 3/5 la maison's menu is digitalized (you get to order in an ipad! haha) everything else, you have to line up and place your order. line in the delicatessen can be challenging during weekends. wait staff outside do try their best to cater to everybody. but i think it would be better to increase the staff at night since the area they cover is also quite large. you end up bringing your stuff to your table becuase it might take 48 yrs before things arrive. so patience is a needed virtue sometimes here.

value for money:: 3/5 given that there are different things to consider, i.e. restaurant, delicatessen,pizza& pasta, gelatto; price varies. restaurant is decently priced. as i have mentioned above, you can buy a 2-3$ bubbly/wine but don't expect much. same goes for the rest of the areas. nice but don't expect much. the croissants are worth their price though!

pizza is just ok.
ceasar's salad is too bitter.
carbonara is ok.

nothing special here but the ambience.
they have 3 separate areas, the restaurant, the winery and thepizzaarea. all have different cashiers. service is very poor. 😑 the girl from the restaurant seem to be not in the mood. we asked for water, we were 3, she only gave 2 and never came back.
another lady from thepizzaarea seem to be not customer-friendly. it was annoying.

sosyal2 hahaha katkat goals be like lol lami ang fud i meanpizzawas okay. madeleines, desserts were okay but the best part was the wineeeeeee! ofkerz order jud mog wine especially this one, i posted as photo. haha i think my friends and i are "immune" to the drunken effect of the alcohol, coz we never get drunk that night or was it just becauze we were happy seeing each other 😂😂😂 nevertheless great place to unwind and chikas with friends 😊

interior design is so vintage and luxurious. the wine cellar is really instagrammable. the place is good to chill at night and super cozy with their multiple variants of wine, beers and vodka.
wish i could try thepizzahere next time.

great ambience and great selection of bread, dessert, ice cream and even food. this resto also have options to sit inside, outside or at the 2nd floor. tried several dishes here like the vegetariana and la vie pizza. both tastes great like an oven-brickpizzabut the crust is not too crunchy. the pork roast and caramelized pork belly are okay, nothing fancy... although the salmon carbonara and the beechwood smoked ham carbonara tastes the same, the pasta itself is cooked very well (al dente) and stays saucy even after several minutes. i like it.

on drinks-the ube beer and the wheat beer are good. the moscato white wine is also good.

alot of people even on a weeknight. im just curious though why this french-inspired restaurant is more famous for itspizzaand pasta.

wines are good.pizzaare the best, it has a distinct taste of freshness when it's not burned. french breads are something you need to think twice before trying, looks delicious but a bit hard.

food: 3/5 – nothing special, except for the pizza.

service: 2/5 – slow turn-around, customer service needs to improve like 10 folds to meet expectation on this kind of place.

drinks selection: 3/5 – if you are not into wines, i suggest you find other place.

ambiance: 1/5 – too crowded on the counter area and narrow passage from entrance to wine library.

design: 4/5 – the interior (wine cellar) is quite cozy and the exterior is a bit fair for an artificial garden theme restaurant.

value (for money): 3/5 – instagram worthy, romantic atmosphere yet service is disappointing.

the first thing one notices about this place is its terrific ambience. we orderedpizza(thin crust) & red wine.pizzawas delicious & huge servings. loads of wine selections. cost us about 700php which i feel was value for money.😀

the bolognese and pesto pasta we ordered were good. ambiance is great. service, however, was terrible.

we had to follow up for our la viepizzamore than 6 times. around 30 minutes after our pasta were served, they told us to wait 7 more minutes for the pizza. more than 7 minutes passed and we were told to wait 10 more minutes. still waiting as of writing. come on, man.

ig-worthy. best ambience. savoury food. rich selection of good wine.
pictures and description says it all. best go to place after a long day at work and get some chill with friends or alone.
they have huge servings. theirpizzais not your ordinary brick oven pie. pasta are satisfyingly flavourful. they also offer creamy gelato for anyone with sweet tooth.
my colleagues and i didn't drink wine due to early call time for work, we just bought bottles of wine for take out.
will always come back here.

perfect for a chill night out. order theirpizza(one of the best in cebu) and pair it with wine- personal favorite is their shanpellino wine. the place is huge and can accommodate lots of people. very picturesque as well

worst restaurant

this is actually the worst experience we had here in cebu.
this restaurant really have to improve their food and their service.
the pasta (carbonara) tasted really bland, the barbecued pork and chicken were still raw and food was not served hot.

reasons why this restaurant has the worst service.

1. the woman in the cashier is very rude and arrogant. i dont understand why she’s giving us an annoyed face while taking our order. i also asked her regarding the size of thepizzaand she just stared and repeated my order, as if she didnt hear me and just wanted to walk out.
2. most servers are inattentive to the needs of the customers. we always have to follow up all our requests.
ex. plates, wine glasses, utensils etc.
3. ourpizzawas never served. we’ve been following up 4x already but none of the servers came back. we also asked for an explanation why they haven’t served ourpizzabut no one really bothered to check.
btw we waited for almost 2 hours.
4. we directly talked to the manager regarding our concern, but he just called one of his servers and asked her to talk to me regarding my complain. no explanation or apology from the manager.

i do not recommend this restaurant.
yes, the place is instagram-able, but if you want a good food and service, do not go to this restaurant.

we had pizza, wine, and some cheese. indoor setting was really gorgeous but we weren’t able to find available seats there, it was already full on a weekend. outside setting was way cooler, though. they had lights and a really cozy ambience. it looks perfect from sunset til night. prices were reasonable. and, i just realized they had ice cream for sale, too. however, thepizzawas a bit difficult to chew so i’m giving 4 stars. ✨

still, i’d love to be back in this place again.

two words: wine and cheese.
they officially made it happen for wine lovers like me to be able to sit and unwind after a day’s work, have a glass or two and pick the cheese to go with your wine. best part is that they offerpizzaand pasta too!

the spot in cebu with the most perfect ambience. you can have the best of both worlds for an outdoor and indoor experience. better visit the place twice: one during the day and another at night. a place for wine,pizzaand pastries. this place keeps me coming back because they always put new addition to their setting.

this place is defintely one of the more popular places in the city. the ambience is great and the variety of food here is also good. tonights order was duck breast with some potato siding. medium done. this was definitely something i'll be ordering again even the meal had a lot of meat in it. anyway we will return for testing thepizzanext time around. not giving up that easily. as a notification to the management; they need to upload their new menues here in zomato and also have pictures available upon request of their food in the restaurant to show to people when they order food.
