two words: wine and cheese.
they officially made it happen for wine lovers like me to be able to sit and unwind after a day’s work, have a glass or two and pick thecheeseto go with your wine. best part is that they offer pizza and pasta too!

great ambience, a wide selection of wines. butcheeseselections have been dwindling since last year. i was told that they would restock probably mid year but currently, they only have around 4 - 6 choices of cheese, which is disappointing compared to 2 or 3 years ago where they always had at least 10 kinds of cheese(especially soignon, oh how i loved it). their stocks on deli meats are also low since i have only seen 2 kinds when i went there. breads are also becoming scarce since everytime i go there, i can only find a few of their high quality ones. i really do hope that they revert back to the time when the shop was mindful of the quality that they bring to their customers.

la vie: wines upon a time in cebu city. a french style go-see place which offers french baked breads, cakes, chocolates, pizza, beer and famous wines.

ambience: classy and cosy. instagram-worthy place from inside and outside. this has a winery library, an elegant dining place inside and vibrant stylish place outside.
drink: for the red wine i tried sauvignon wine. it was really good, a little strong and has a bold taste. partnered this with chocolate andcheesewhich made me drink more. i also loved their buddha beer, lighter taste than corona beer.
food: i did not try their food except for theircheeseand chocolates which were really good.
price: food and drinks are actually pricey, but we got to find cheap wine for 400 pesos. look for sauvignon wine.
service: la vie barmen and servers were not accommodating, they just take your order and do not offer something to make your experience worth visiting. they were not smiling. what happened to us was more on self-service.

the first time i ever visited this place was 4 years ago with my co-workers who were based in cebu. then i went back recently with a friend of mine from hs. the place looked different, fancier even. i love how they revamped the place to look like a more posh wine bar.

of course, the first thing we ordered was wine - barrel rose blend (php 540) for those who enjoy rosé you might like this one too! then we ordered somecheesewhich they offer per slices that can range from php 30-60 depending on thecheeseyou’ll be getting. then i saw their chocolate truffle in different flavors and it’s just php 15 each. wala akong hindi nagustuhan! 😂

i would love to go back there again when i’m in cebu their wine are cheaper and they have great selection too.

being the most picturesque wine & deli restaurant in cebu, la vie parisienne, which simply means parisian life, is a go-to place for both locals and tourists for their extensive array of wines, delightful bread and patisserie, andcheesevariants. just a month ago, they’ve introduced something new to the public. brought directly from italy by gelato master, chef manuel minelli, they have launched their la vie french artisan gelato.

la vie was a last minute choice for our group of 10. the place was a former tesidence with a large vernada and built in the old spanish house style of the senoritas of cebu. it has morphed into a french-inspired bakery-deli and wine library. la vie has a nice selection of sparkling fruit wine (which for me is an oxymoron) since the french take their wine seriously and often drank more than water. it also has some selection of french wine but not a lot from the recognised wine areas. it also has a nice selection of french liquer, pastis, orangerie, etc. they also have some cider and fruit beer. their food is definitely french. we got some escargot 16pcs and 4cheese pizza. the order was tasteful and i would say very good. i could smell their coffee from the other table and it was also wonderful. i saw their pastries and baked desserts. while they look authentic they seem to be tired and dated not fresh. maybe because we arrived around 9pm. they also a selection ofcheesebut not as extensive than santi's. i think the best part of this place is the ambience. the inside of the restaurant is a nice cozy and well designed chill place. in fact, its the most popular spot in the whole establishment that you have to line up to get a spot. note the seating arrangrment in the inside room is good for 6 only. the garden or al fresco part of the restaurant is pleasant. they have garden set-up with a wicker-based dome tent and a very funky colored chair set-up. in terms of ambience i would say la vie is the best place to chill to have a romantic date or just hang with the barkada. the only fly in the ointment of this very elegant establishment is the service. the service charge they add to your bill does not merit the money you pay for. first of all, you order by the counter/cashier and pay as you order. regardless if you order the wine or the food you do it cafeyeria style you line up and pay for your stuff. thennyou bring your own order to your table including the drinking glasses. when you seat down on your table, particularly, in the garden part you have to find your own spot and even arrange your tables. the service crew just looks at you and will not even offer you tables or chairs. you basically have to fend for yourself. you will even hsve to ask the service staff to bting in plates and cutlery to use for your fooed order. water is not even offered at all!!! for thevprice they charge for their food and drinks and the add-on service charge for a service that does not exist, la vie could be called 'highway robbery'. the only readon la vie pariesienne will be worth a visit is the food and ambience. bit expect to serve yourself to enjoy the visit.

1. atmosphere/ ambiance: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
5 star wigh no doubt. one of the most photogenic restaurants in cebu
2. cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
restrooms are not clean... everytime!
3. service: ⭐️
long lines. before your wine gets delivered to your table and thecheeseordered are already sliced. now, you have to bring your own wine plus the glasses with you. aside from that, the last time, we were told to slice thecheesewe got
4. food: ⭐️⭐️⭐️
nothing extraordinary. croissants are the same with the other croissants that you get from other pstry shops but they have more options to choose from
5. accessibility of the resto: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
