the construction on preston street is over as of spring 2010. this is an excellent restaurant. i eat there once a week for lunch with my bni group (business networking international). it is agreat group to join is your business is referral based. while we have a set menu it is always very tasty. my favourite is the alfredo. the upstairs private room is excellent for meetings or other functionsand maria and her family are excellent hosts.

my fave place!. i go to la roma every chance i get and suggest it to all my friends and family. from the moment you walk in to the moment you leave you are so well taken care of. the food is always great, (zucchini and lasagna are a must). the last time i was there, it took a little longer than usual, but every restaurant has one off night right? and the food was still so worth the wait!

mediocre at best. the drinks were tiny and watered down like crazy. the chicken with asparagus was just ok but was extremely disappointing considering that it cost over $20. the seafood pasta included 3 shrimp and tiny pieces of crab. our waiter couldn't answer the simplest questions about how the drinks and prepared or even how the food is prepared. we had to ask for our bread and the waiter did not pick up the empty glasses throughout the whole meal. the best past of the whole visit was their olives. definitely wouldn't go back there again.

i was shocked by the so called 2 ounce martinis, i've never seen such small a martini

the waiter who was serving us had a couldn't care less attitude and very cool

i hope they are successful and can afford this sort of product and service because i'll sure not be back. there are so many other restaurants in the area

not good at all. we rarely go out and the reviews on urban spoon were good but boy were they wrong. service was spotty to be kind. we had to ask for bread which was stale; practially no butter; a tablespoon at a time. bruschetta was serve on cold wet bread like some one had forgot how to make it. the lasagna was a cheese lasagna with a meat sauce no salad or greens and thankfully i and another memeber of our party only ordered half portions. the veal canelloni was ok but nothing to exact the 16.00 dollar price it cost. two small canellonis in the same meat sauce that came with the lasagna. the chicken was tasty but tough. the desert menu we had to ask for twice .the waitress just forgot us again.one item was no longer available the alaska ice cream covered by a crepe in chocolat sauce was good and so was the ameretto ice cream; we had to ask for coffe three times re only served us half cups each time and the cups are small,no sweetener was at the table and the cream came in a very small cute litte mug not enough for two people let alone more ;no relfill were offered we had to ask. at one time we were told that they were making more coffee, twenty minutes later we asked again as we wanted to maibe pay up and leave.as for one of the waitressspilling parmesan on me she seemed anoyed and very tired or the fact we were never offered pepper or actually made to feal welcomed or even cared about.no italian should be proud of this place. i would not recommend this restaurant

buisness presentation. our company had a presentation at this restaurant last night and we all left thoroughly impressed. a very professional atmosphere, complete with modern private rooms with in-ceiling projection screen and integrated wireless microphone system.

the service was prompt and courteous. food presentation and taste screamed with attention to detail. i cannot say enough about how smoothly this evening went. i highly recommend you see for yourself.

definitely the shining jewel of preston street.

we will be back many more times.

five stars. warm and inviteing. dine in unparalleled elegance at laroma. a must for anyone seeking the perfect evening with friends, family, or that special someone. make it a night to remember with laroma and you wont be disappointed.

just right!. la roma is one of our favorite places.

we have been there numerous times, and the experience has always been great. the restaurant gives off a nice sophisticated atmosphere, and manages to do so without feeling pretentious or condescending.

the prices are fair, and the food has always been spot on. the servings are not too big, nor too small. you will leave feeling satisfied (not hungry or full beyond belief). when ordering drinks, you will get all the alcohol you paid for. a meal for two, with 2 drinks, and dessert came out under $100 (generous tip included).

the waiters are great. they do a great job of being attentive to your needs whilst preserving your privacy. we have never had an issue with any meals, however, saying the issues would be dealt with professionally and respectfully seems like a safe presumption.

all in all, la roma is a great restaurant when looking for a place that will allow you to dress up and feel good without leaving you feeling like royalty or trash.

great restaurant! will visit again, and encourage anyone looking for a nice place to have dinner [at a reasonable price] to do so as well.

good food, but way too much.. this place is a typical italian restaurant, it reminds me of some kind of bad movie mob front restaurant. the menu is large and has variety. the wine menu is also large and great variety.

the food is good, however nothing original or anything you haven't seen a million times before. the service is great, but the prices are way too high.

amazing authentic and fresh italian food. service is excellent and the owner is a gem. she thought we waited too long for our food so offered a round of dessert alcohol. but we didn't think the wait was long at all. everything about this experience is top notch. price matches the excellent quality and you can't order anything bad on this menu.

we dined at la roma saturday evening and sat upstairs. italian fine dining at its best. first off we had a wonderful evening from start to finish. the greeting at the door was warm and our servers skills were honed. the food was fantastic. nice spin on the classic cesar salad, then zucchini. i had the stuffed veal and all around it was amazing, a spot on balance of flavour and a perfect portion size.  drinks were great and ambience was very comfortable. we'll be back for sure, would definitely recommend

i always have the ripasso or the zenato as they're both smooth, full-bodied red wines that accompany my meals well
service: 5/5 my servers are always friendly and happy, with full knowledge of the menu. they're always willing to suggest their favourites as well as a wine that'll pair best. 

overall, i always have a great experience, and feel that the staff do their very best to accommodate any requests, will continue to go back!

i adore the leek and potato soup! the gnocchi are so yummy!!!!!!! they are perfect... just perfect!!! the lasagna is okay, but i would not order it again...unless it is for my lunch the next day! word to the wise; the portions are large and very filling; so be careful how much you order.
the bread is wonderful, too. the creme brûlée was okay, but again i would not order it again.
but, the nicest part was afterward when i went to my car but the battery shut down... so on a cold night we went back to the restaurant and told them. one of the chefs offered to jump start it... just so kind! i am definitely going back!

service was very slow, portions were tiny for the price of it. i had stuffed pasta and my bf had cannelloni. it was good but not great.

jamais plus- beaucoup trop cher pour la qualité et la variété offerte. la fraicheur laisse à désirée et camouflée par l'ail sur-utilisée... l'atmosphère est médiocre et en fait il y a beaucoup de resto italien à proximité offrant une bien meilleure expérience gastronomique. à éviter malheureusement- leur restaurant la trattoria est de loin supérieur.
