rude employee. my first time in the store, i ordered lunch to go, and while waiting i tried some of the bread samples, and i was approached by an employee and was asked- are you waiting for a friend, what is going on here? very rude, rude, very upsetting!! food is great, but employee needs some training on how to treat customers!!

not worth my money. panera's on high priced steroids. proves that if you come up with a trendy name, the people of the rtp area will throw money at you. will never return.

great baked goods. my wife and i tried a couple scones, some sweets, and some bread. everything we had was good. my wife loved the chipotle pimento cheese they had as a sample and we instantly bought some to take home with us.

good bread. uneven service. need to keep up with the crumbs! omelet - have had better - especially for the price.

it’s served on toasted la farm bread–their signature light sourdough made in a three-day process–with ham, imported gruyère, homemade mornay sauce, and fresh chopped chives. in case that’s not decadent enough, the sandwich is topped with a mozzarella-provolone blend as well as two fried eggs. naturally, this is a knife-and-fork affair, as the egg yolks ooze out beautifully into the chewy, buttery bread. the flavors are well-balanced, with the meat mingling well with the melted cheese. if you’re looking to green up the croque madam, you can add sautéed spinach for under a dollar. at lunch, there’s a “petite salade” with housemade champagne vinaigrette to counter the intensity of the sandwich, while at breakfast the croque madame comes with fruit. for more information, check out the serious eats story, here .

watching him work the ovens on the morning batch one begins to understand ‘the dance’.  flowing yet calculated moves, shifting racks, opening doors to peer into hot ovens, pulling out loaves, touching, tapping, to either return to heat for a few more minutes or to pull unto a filled rack and allowed to breathe cool.  long baguettes are placed individually by hand, scored or cut for final shaping and handled with intent, all the while discussing a desired length from a wholesale client with another baker.  it’s 5:00am, i’ve just arrived…they have been dancing for hours. it’s not news that lionel vatinet and la farm bakery are well known in the area.  since opening in the late 1990′s, la farm has been considered one of the go-to spots for spot-on breads and that recognition has carried him beyond our little corner of th

this cary gem is a local-favorite, and mine, too.  the pain au chocolat has belgium dark chocolate wrapped in a flaky croissant.  it is delicious. i haven't had lunch here  for awhile, and i'm due for a visit, but you can't go wrong with the classic le parisian baguette.  also, the children's menu is one of the more reasonably priced in the area with a grilled cheese for $2.25.  the kid's cookie is a delight for my little one.  lafarm bakery is my fabulous friday pick for the week.  you may see me pop in on a tuesday before my daughter's dance class in the area.   see you there! want to go: lafarm bakery preston corners 4248 cary parkway cary, n.c.  if you are new to the hines-sight blog, you can follow my

i'm dying to go back and try their cafe menu, especially their proscuitto asparagus tartine, which was featured in food and wine magazine but i did buy a french macaron, belgian brownie and chocolate layer cake.

if you have ever tasted a decent french macaron, the one here will disappoint you. i don't think they have it down quite yet. i would save your money for something else.

the belgian brownie is very rich and has a heavy fudge like consistency. if you like cakey brownies, this may not be for you.

the chocolate layer cake was my absolute favorite! it is a rich and decadent slice of chocolatey goodness with nutella! if you ever had a chocolate attack, this will satisfy you.

overall, very cute bakery/ cafe that seems to have a tasty cafe menu (lots of diners), fresh baked breads and pastries and friendly service. visit here and at least try all the samples they have out.

it was worth every single calorie by the way...with just the right ratio of rich buttery croissant to sweet almond paste filling, and the prerequisite toasted almond slices garnishing the top. my taste buds were immediately transported back to paris, no

dynamite breads. good lunch fare trending toward lighter menu items. potentially crushed with business at lunch during the week.

had lunch here july 4. the sandwiches were very good - fresh and tasty. the gazpacho was terrific too. we used to buy baked goods here before they opened the restaurant. now we have added la farm as an eating spot too! very good!

yum!. mouthwatering. this place is great, just make you you prepare because they're always packed.

not a bad deal. every time i go here i make an effort to try something else. this is mostly because the every time i go i absolutely love what i ordered last. i haven't had one thing that i wouldn't highly recommend. the price is some what high but you soon realize you are getting quality. the portions are not typical american portions so be warned on that. i wouldn't say it's a bad thing since typically more food = less quality.

everything here is to die for. unfortunately, everyone else agrees, so it is bedlam no matter when you go. we have given up ever trying to eat in and just pop in for bakery items to go. wish it weren't so crowded and insane. but everything at la farm is fabulous... except the crowds.

wish it was closer and easier for me to get to- id be there 3x a week
