great local gem. went on a busy saturday night, the 4 of us had to wait about 20-25 minutes for a table. we were seated upstairs, which was really nice and art deco.
the place is byo at $4.5 a bottle, so bring a bottle (or more) of wine to complement your meal.

we ordered the calamari as entre, 3 pizzas (tartufa, the egglant and the ham and anchovies), a mussel spaghetti and 4 desserts.

the calamari was nice. the pizzas were great! loved the tartufa, amazing. although these pizzas look big, they are actually really thin and you could probably eat a whole one yourself if you were hungry. the other 2 pizzas were okay, but a tad too salty. pasta was also good
for desserts we had the creme brulee, semi freddo and blood orange gelato. the raspberry creme brulee sadly was not set properly, so that was a bit of a dissapointment. the semi fredo was really nice and i loved the blood orange gelato. a good palate cleanser.

all in all, really enjoyed this place and would recommend. i will definitely be back

super delicious pizzas. tartufa (mushrooms and prosciutto with truffle oil) is thoroughly recommended. waiters happy to recommend a wine - their recommendation can be trusted. and to finish pannacotta, with rhubarb if they have it, is sublime. atmosphere is fun. prices on the high side. service is good though it does get very busy

wow.. quite simply the best meal out i have had in years. the food was considered and delicious. the service was attentive but not intrusive. you couldn't ask for more. it has put haberfield on my map and i shall return.

my happy place. coming from someone that has tried and tested many of the neapolitan style pizzas in sydney, la disfida is quite simply one of the best. thin bases, quality ingredients, delicious pastas and a fabulous range of daily specials. do yourself a favour and get there.

great atmosphere good food brilliant service.. but... but... but they forgot my meal 😊. yup got all the order bit my meal.... no apology just a 'are you sure you don't want it' after i pointed it out at desert time. quality of food and desert made up for the faux pas.

pretty good, but not super-cheap. it's the sort of pizza i like - few toppings with a thin, crispy base. pasta wasn't too memorable so stick with the pizza. it was slightly pricier than i thought it would be, but i suppose it's because la disfida is so well-known for its pizza it has been able to get away with it. service-wise, a couple of online reviews have complained about it but i thought it was fine - though interesting/strange that all the waiters and waitresses working on the top floor spoke french to each other.

take away pizza mother's day. ordered take away pizza tonight. given it was mother's day the order time was an impressive 10mins, however the quality of the pizza base was disappointing. the barletta pizza was topped with fresh prosciutto, but was a let down with the under cooked dough and lack of mozzarella.

the best ! traditional vibes, delicious food and good wines what more could you want? the best in haberfield and beyond, definitely check it out. it is quite busy so be prepared to wait a bit

not "napoletana" style like via napoli, probably closer to "italiano" style pizza (still thin but crispier base). still tasty though.

gnocchi was good but order bolognese sauce if you're not a big fan of blue cheese.

desserts decent.

my family and i came here recently for mothers day and had a wonderful time. the service was first class and the food was amazing.
we had
calamari e zucchine fritti - the best calamari i have ever eaten so light and tasty.
eggplant involtini - a special, get it if its on the menu when you are there it is possibly my favourite dish from this place.
garlic pizza - again really tasty but you will stink the next day haha.
gnocchi with pomodoro e basilico - hand rolled gnocchi in an amazing red sauce.
we all had a lovely night and highly recommend la disfida

we made a booking on a friday night and it was quite busy. we tried the homemade gnocchi con gorgonzola which was really fresh, soft and had that melt in your mouth feeling to it. the tartufa pizza was excellent. made fresh and together with the chilli oil provided, it was amazing! the pear, prosciutto and rocket salad was good as well. will definitely come back again to try other menu items.

hands down best pizzeria in sydney. i could not rave about this restaurant more. maybe i was just super hungry waiting in the long line outside (and yes everyone was waiting to get into this tiny join).

the gorgonzola gnocchi was the best gnocchi i've had in sydney, no competition compares. it was the smoothest, cheesiest gnocchi of my dreams.

polenta chips were thick and crispy and the dipping sauce was 👌.

margherita was amazing and so was the bianca tartufa (prosciutto with mushroom and truffle).

i don't even like creme brulee and tiramisu, but somehow i loved it here!

could not recommend this more!

la disfida has to be hands down one of my favourite italian restaurants that i’ve tried so far! ordered the zucchini flowers which were generously filled with goats cheese and deep fried with a thin crispy batter. the gorgonzola gnocchi melted in the mouth and was very creamy and cheese (i recommend sharing this dish as it can get quite heavy and repetitive the more bites you have). the tartufa pizza is a must!!! very strong truffle flavour so you have to be a truffle lover and because there are very few ingredients you can really taste each ingredient! bookings not available for parties of less than 5 which sucks and it can get quite busy on the weekends so sometimes service isn’t the best as well.

when i have had garlic pizzas at other pizza restaurants, they have a white base so i was surprised that this one had a tomato base and i really enjoyed it.

i don't know if other people agree with me, but after eating the pizza called la motta i thought i would be thirsty, but the strange thing is that i didn't

best pizza i have ever had in my entire life! perfect thin wood fired base and not overloaded toppings, the house wine is also great. highly recommend!!
