very happy tummy. i've never liked the term "gastropub," but the concept is fantastic: a semi-casualplacewith an excellent selection of beer and a small but tight menu that resists cliche. that's what thisplaceis like, and you can tell from the clientele on a recent early saturday night--older people, families, a few hipster-y types . . . a nice mix. i bravely chose the sea bass (restaurants always seem to overcook fish) and it was perfectly cooked. the fries are hands-down the best in town. my only complaint is that the bread use for a couple of the sandwiches was a bit overly buttered or greasy--a brioche might work better. but that's a small complaint. service was prompt and friendly and for what you get, it's very reasonably priced. i'll be back.
