indy's greatest seafood. this is my favorite seafood restaurant in indianapolis. the seared tuna appetizer is worth your time! every dish i've had at kona jacks has delivered! soft shell crabs, sushi, grouper, mahi mahi.greatdrinks, casual atmosphere. good prices. my only complaint would be the rice paper wrapping on the sushi rolls...yuk! fortunately you can ask for the traditional seaweed wraps.

great sushi & a super friendly staff!. we are twice-a-week diners at kona's wonderful sushi bar. the sushi chefs (hugo, lalo, riggo, and fernando) are always working on new creations that never cease to impress. i strongly encourage you to sit at the sushi counter and watch them work their magic. i am a particular fan of the tuna tartare, the aspen roll, the blackened scallops, and the mexican roll. delicious food (for a non-sushi option, try their incredible crunchy grouper) and super friendly servers. agreatexperience every time!

great place to eat. i like eat at konas jacks .i like how they approach when you been seat it. the serves are nice and polite ..they have a fabulous manu. l love seafood alot so konas and sushi bar has what i like.every time we have lunch or dinner at konas is like having a big family reunion.. is so relax... parm breaded grouper. is my best yet... is cook with perfection, not under not over cook just righ.and having sushi insted the mexican roll is the best on their sushi menu..it practically melts in your mouth and there are many person who savor delicade raw fish as their favorite instead of a formerly favored beef steak.. the combination with vinegared seasoned rice to form sushi is fabulous... i love it thank konas jack for thegreatservice..

agreatindependently owned restaurant and bar with outstanding food and top notch service!! agreatalternative in this corporate chain restaurant laden city! my wife and i just recently moved to indianapolis, and we are thankful we have found this gem! we've become pretty regular customers over the last few months. seems like we're already on a first name basis with most of the servers and bartenders. it's nice that the staff always remembers us and treats us like part of the family. judging by all the other familiar faces of customers we see in there again and again, the folks at kona jack's have been treating people like family for a long time. kona jack's has some of the freshest seafood and best sushi i've had in the midwest! their calamari is absolutely the best i've ever had, bar none!! some of the other menu highlights for me are the walleye pike, sea bass, and their sushi bar's seared ahi roll!! they even have a fresh fish market in the restaurant!greatfor stopping on the way home from work to grab some of that fresh seafood to make dinner at home. their fishmongers are really knowledgeable and helpful. always offering preparation ideas and suggestions. they even offer up some of the their special breadings and sauces used in the restaurant!

fantastic seafood. i went to kona jacks last night and everything we had was phenomenol, had crabcakes and calamari to start with, the calamari was amazing most tender ive had in quite awhile. i had the walleyye for dinner and my wife had the chinese pesto sea bass, we were both extremely satisifed with our dinners. after dinner we went over to apres jacks whick is connected to kona jacks to listen to live music and enjoy a couple cocktails, wonderful atmosphere, greatmusic, greatfood, what more can you ask for. will definitely return again.

it's amazing!. i have been a fan of this place for about a long as it's been open (seventeen years i think). one of the wonderful qualities about it is, that it's a one of a kind and doesn't have that fakeness and generic menu like chain restaurants. and yet after all these years, everytime i eat there, the food is consistently prepared with the same delicious perfection as always. i don't eat meat except for fish so i find it very exciting to have so manygreatchoices in fish as well as in their preperations. i like to eat grouper, sea bass, tuna (both from the regular menu and from the sushi bar) as well as the mexican roll from the sushi bar, which is like a party in your mouth! i recommend kona's to everyone. i also must say it's also a comforting and friendly place in the aspect that there is so many employees that have worked there for years and years, which first implies that it's a good place to work, but also it's so nice to be welcomed when you walk in the door with everyone recognizing you and greeting you by name and so willing to give yougreatservice. love it, love it, love it!!!

great experience!!. my wife and i decided we wanted some seafood for dinner and had heard of this place from a friend of ours. the fish was advertised as" flown in fresh daily" it didn't disappoint. my wife had the seabass as recommended by our server and i tried the crunchy grouper. both of these entrees were right on the money, big portions and bursting with wonderful flavors. kenny who was our server recommended that when we were finished we make our way back to apres jacks where they have live music every night of the week. the band was awesome!! we have found agreatplace not only to eat but to also watch live music. we will be coming here often.

great fish. the clam chowder is the best. sometimes the hardest decision is between the chowder or the seafood gumbo. go for the char grilled option on the fish they do agreatjob grilling fish. love the fish tanks and laid back attitude. if you like fish you have to try here

the sushi is fresh, and tasty. sushi is pricey and i don't mind the price but hate when it tastes like the fish is old or it is watery from laying around. no problem here. was perfect. clam chowder was delicious and the salad is huge.greatplace for dinner. nice atmosphere.

enjoy seafood, avoid sushi.. kona jack's - ah, it's like walking into a jimmy buffet song. fishing nets and fish line the walls and ceilings, fish tanks galore and a unique mix of young diners and 50+ singles and couples who you can tell frequent the place (like my parents, who know names of the bartenders and waitstaff).

i only go here with my parents. it's a bit out of my price range and out of the way, but, when they declare seafood, i'm always game.

the seafood is fresh, and the staff is honest about what's in season, what's worth trying, and what isn't. we usually sit at the bar, where a nice bunch of guys take care of us and provide a welcoming environment. they also offer outdoor dining during warmer months, lining the strip mall sidewalk with tables.

the nice thing about the seafood is that you can order your food one of many ways - from diablo (spicy spicy spicy) to herb crusted, fried or pan seared (10 or so options). so if you're feeling healthy, great, and if you're feeling greasy, go for it. portions are just right, and fresh veggies always come with, and a salad. they also have a nice seafood, steak and shellfish menu.

yes, they have sushi. it's sushi made by non-asian chefs, which always makes me question what the hell is going on. sorry guys, but, it's like how an elvis impersonator isn't as good as the real elvis.

but, it's just "ok." i would advise one of the million other places for sushi, but, if you need a quick fix or an appetizer, you can live. i've had smoked salmon nigiri which was fresh and quite tasty, shrimp tempura which had two gross sauces and i've also tried their tempura with tempura sauce which tasted like alcohol, it wasn't too good. i haven't eaten other sushi menu items, but, i've seen them come out and the sizes weren't mind blowing. if you're a snob, you probably won't be impressed.

booze wise their wine list is slowly getting updated. they've had a lot of the same choices for years, and it seems the owner doesn't really want to venture out much. they do serve half bottles, and people seem to really enjoy the martinis here (i see a lot get made at the bar!). they have a few mediocre beers on tap as well.

but yes, stick to the seafood menu, enjoy thegreatsteaks at daddy jack's, and enjoy the tacky sea-faring decor and you'll enjoy yourself.
