indy's greatest seafood. this is my favorite seafood restaurant in indianapolis. the seared tuna appetizer is worth your time! every dish i've had at kona jacks has delivered! soft shell crabs, sushi, grouper, mahi mahi. great drinks, casual atmosphere. good prices. my only complaint would be the rice paper wrapping on the sushi rolls...yuk! fortunately you can ask for the traditional seaweed wraps.

great sushi & a super friendly staff!. we are twice-a-week diners at kona's wonderful sushi bar. the sushi chefs (hugo, lalo, riggo, and fernando) are always working on new creations that never cease to impress. i strongly encourage you to sit at the sushi counter and watch them work their magic. i am a particular fan of the tuna tartare, the aspen roll, the blackened scallops, and the mexican roll. delicious food (for a non-sushi option, try their incredible crunchy grouper) and super friendly servers. a great experience every time!

overall, the meal was disappointing because of the fact that it took so long and so clearly had been sitting a little too long before it got served to us. if it had been delivered quickly, it probably would have been a really good meal (especially for me—i really liked the flavors of what i ordered). the restaurant was really busy, but when i asked if that was unusual we were told, no, not really. and when i have been in at lunch time, it always seems to have a decent crowd so i think they are fairly used to being busy. we did stop at the fish market on our way out a pick up some nice trout that we had for dinner the following night, which turned out quite well if i do say so myself. we will certainly return at some point, but not sure i will get hubby back there for awhile anyway.

i had sushi here for the first time after eating here about 5 times previously. i'll be going back to fish entrees. i'm spoiled by eating at naked tchopstix twice a week. the sushi here wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great. can't go wrong with any fish entree or sandwich here, i highly recommend it for that.

first visit. i wasn't blown away but i wasn't disappointed. it was good food but not great. the pricing was appropriate for the food we received. our server was very friendly and attentive. it looks like a place that would've been popular in the 90s. the interior reminds me of the golden girls set. i did enjoy all the well maintained aquariums.
it is worth a visit if you enjoy seafood. i'm not opposed to dining there again but it wouldn't be my first choice, especially for sushi.

so disappointing..... as a date night we decided to try kona jack's tonight. we looked at the reviews and thought we'd give it a whirl. we got seated at a tiny table next to two other couples-which was a bit uncomfortable. while i serve was nice-she was was the slowest server i've ever had. i go the rum runner to start...and i couldn't drink it..it was that bad. we finally after probably 20 minutes got to order. i got the stuffed shrimp....not very good at all......and my husband got the fish taco-which was good! however, overall-it was the worst date night experience we've had in awhile.

would not recomend. waited ten minutes to be seated on a saturday evening so that was great! that's hardly a wait at all. as i waited, i watched the food sitting on the counter ready to be picked up by the servers. hmm... 8 minutes is a long time for food to be sitting out. the restaurant is segregated. the main dining area is for those over 65, the sushi bar area is for couples and the back dining area is for children and whoever else they can stick in there. that's where my wife and i were seated. we had 11 children from four seperate families within 20 feet from us. it was totally weird. i told my wife "it's like chick- fil-a with seafood" all they were lacking was a kids slide.

after realizing the atmosphere was, well, not what we were expecting, i lost my desire to order anything pricey because i just wasn't going to enjoy this experience. i ordered the blackened grouper sandwich which was fine. the bun was soggy and the size of the grouper was quite small. i ordered potato salad with it and they gave me rice instead. not sure why, maybe they were out of potato salad. my wife ordered shrimp linguini and a waitress who wasn't ours came up to us and asked if that was what we ordered. yep, that's what we ordered. she seemed confused. maybe because she was still trying to decide if the salads we ordered went to the right people after she brought them to us once, said "wait, did you order these? let's see you are table number?..." she took them away to another table and then brought them back.

i lived in florida for many years. this restaurant belongs there. half filled with old people and half parents from the suburbs with screaming kids, numbing themselves with wine. then a few dazed and confused (that was me and my wife)

i highly recomend this place if you have more than three kids, enjoy fish aquariums and are looking for some sub par overpriced seafood in a weird disney cafeteria atmosphere.

if you really want to have a good time, let your kids dress in thier pajamas and watch the turtle poop in the aquarium! it's hysterical!

avoid the oysters on the half shell. i started out waiting for five minutes for the server jut to bring me my water. i ordered it with lemon but she forgot it. i knew i would get a lemon with my oysters so i let it slide. the oysters had several bits of shell in them. they were not loosened from the shell. there was no liquid in the shells. they tasted good but not up to the standards of this restaurant.

for the entree, i ordered the fried scallops. they were very good but a little watery. i ordered the potato salad instead of the steak fries. you could tell the potato salad was homemade. the only problem was the server charged me an up-charge for the potato salad. after i pointed it out, she fixed the bill.

i wanted to use my credit card to pay for the meal but the server never came by to take it. she waited on other people around me, read off the specials, and brought drinks but she never came near my table to pick up my credit card. luckily, i had some cash and was able to leave that on the table.

i really like this restaurant. i have eaten here in the past and will eat here again, just with a different server.

great place to eat. i like eat at konas jacks .i like how they approach when you been seat it. the serves are nice and polite ..they have a fabulous manu. l love seafood alot so konas and sushi bar has what i like.every time we have lunch or dinner at konas is like having a big family reunion.. is so relax... parm breaded grouper. is my best yet... is cook with perfection, not under not over cook just righ.and having sushi insted the mexican roll is the best on their sushi menu..it practically melts in your mouth and there are many person who savor delicade raw fish as their favorite instead of a formerly favored beef steak.. the combination with vinegared seasoned rice to form sushi is fabulous... i love it thank konas jack for the great service..
