kona jack's fish market & sushi bar

top favorite place to eat especially seafood!!!. i have been eating a kona jack's for a few years now and absolutely love it!! the atmosphere is very relaxing with all the fish tanks that surround you. the staff is very friendly and seems to love their jobs. they are very knowledgeable when it comes to the menu and suggesting their most desired dishes.
some of the dishes that i have enjoyed would be the chilean sea bass, crunchy grouper, fish & chips, and love the blackened fish taco (it's more like a burrito)!!! i love the mexican roll and shrimp tempura roll from the sushi menu! calamari has to be the best in the indianapolis area!!
i would totally suggest trying this restaurant out as well as daddy jack's and if you're in the mood for some live music after dinner head to après jacks!!!

awesome!!. checked out this restaurant on a whim, and was pleasantly surprised, fish was extremely fresh and service was very helpful and friendly. the atmosphere reminded me of a vacation on a beach and the fish tasted like the boats just brought it in on some nearby dock. my wife and i had fantastic calamari to start with, and then we ordered the crunchy style grouper and a filet and lobster tail meal that we were informed they run every monday night as a special. extremely delicious!! for the quality you cannot beat the price any where in town, we will be back i am sure repeatedly.

try this place!!!. this place is great! love the assorted fish preparations, with different kinds of sauces. takes it beyond just the freshest fish around! fried calamari appetizer is outstanding! sushi menu also offers a wide variety of flavors beyond your average sushi choices. service is friendly and knowledgeable, drinks from the bar generous. will definitely go back and try some of the items that we didn't try this time. highly recommend kona jack's (no connection to kona grill) to anyone!!! remember, friends don't let friends eat at chain restaurants!!!

this restaurant has a lively atmosphere, great hostesses, and amazing servers. the food is always fresh and tastes amazing. i would recommend this restaurant to any one! such a great place to eat.

delicious!!. went in for my first time about 7 months ago and i can't stop going in to try new things. everything there is fresh and delicious. from the wonderful chowder to the tasty sushi items that i was very new to and the wonderful fresh warm bread served with a macadamia nut butter!!! our server laurie was very helpful on suggesting things that would be good for first timers. my favorite so far is the sea bass. i will without a doubt be going in again and again to enjoy the great food, wonderful service and, fun atmosphere. :)

delicious fresh fish. i have been a chef for many years and this is by far my favorite restaurant for fresh fish. the service here is wonderful. joey is by far the best server i've encountered. the chowder and fresh bread are delicious. my favorite is the chinese pesto marinated sea bass. the sushi there is unique and tasty, i've never really been one for sushi until i tried kona's sushi.

a great independently owned restaurant and bar with outstanding food and top notch service!! a great alternative in this corporate chain restaurant laden city! my wife and i just recently moved to indianapolis, and we are thankful we have found this gem! we've become pretty regular customers over the last few months. seems like we're already on a first name basis with most of the servers and bartenders. it's nice that the staff always remembers us and treats us like part of the family. judging by all the other familiar faces of customers we see in there again and again, the folks at kona jack's have been treating people like family for a long time. kona jack's has some of the freshest seafood and best sushi i've had in the midwest! their calamari is absolutely the best i've ever had, bar none!! some of the other menu highlights for me are the walleye pike, sea bass, and their sushi bar's seared ahi roll!! they even have a fresh fish market in the restaurant! great for stopping on the way home from work to grab some of that fresh seafood to make dinner at home. their fishmongers are really knowledgeable and helpful. always offering preparation ideas and suggestions. they even offer up some of the their special breadings and sauces used in the restaurant!

a must visit!!!. i visit kona jack's quite often and love their sushi. there is a wide variety to choose from and the fish is always fresh. when i don't have time to sit down and eat, i buy from their fresh fish selection at the market. their staff is very knowledgeable about properly preparing what i buy. my favorite is the halibut prepared with the sesame lime marinade!!! i recommend going there to all my fish loving friends. and for my friends that prefer steaks/burgers/chicken daddy jack's has a wonderful menu... especially the louisiana ribeye.

fantastic seafood. i went to kona jacks last night and everything we had was phenomenol, had crabcakes and calamari to start with, the calamari was amazing most tender ive had in quite awhile. i had the walleyye for dinner and my wife had the chinese pesto sea bass, we were both extremely satisifed with our dinners. after dinner we went over to apres jacks whick is connected to kona jacks to listen to live music and enjoy a couple cocktails, wonderful atmosphere, great music, great food, what more can you ask for. will definitely return again.

it's amazing!. i have been a fan of this place for about a long as it's been open (seventeen years i think). one of the wonderful qualities about it is, that it's a one of a kind and doesn't have that fakeness and generic menu like chain restaurants. and yet after all these years, everytime i eat there, the food is consistently prepared with the same delicious perfection as always. i don't eat meat except for fish so i find it very exciting to have so many great choices in fish as well as in their preperations. i like to eat grouper, sea bass, tuna (both from the regular menu and from the sushi bar) as well as the mexican roll from the sushi bar, which is like a party in your mouth! i recommend kona's to everyone. i also must say it's also a comforting and friendly place in the aspect that there is so many employees that have worked there for years and years, which first implies that it's a good place to work, but also it's so nice to be welcomed when you walk in the door with everyone recognizing you and greeting you by name and so willing to give you great service. love it, love it, love it!!!

delish!!. dinner was great! we had the cajun scallop app and it was a good mix of spicy and creamy and it went perfectly with the scallops and rice. the fish we had for dinner was cooked perfectly and tasted very fresh. can't wait to go back.

great experience!!. my wife and i decided we wanted some seafood for dinner and had heard of this place from a friend of ours. the fish was advertised as" flown in fresh daily" it didn't disappoint. my wife had the seabass as recommended by our server and i tried the crunchy grouper. both of these entrees were right on the money, big portions and bursting with wonderful flavors. kenny who was our server recommended that when we were finished we make our way back to apres jacks where they have live music every night of the week. the band was awesome!! we have found a great place not only to eat but to also watch live music. we will be coming here often.

my dining out. kona jack's has the best fresh fish in town. a few of my favorites are the sea bass, calamari, and the seared ahi from the sushi bar. jeff, in the fish market, is always ready to help you in selecting the perfect fish for your meal to fix at home. the service is always outstanding and i always look forward to going back.

great atmosphere. kona jack's is a great restaurant on the north side of indianapolis. i really enjoyed all of the fish tanks around the restaurant. i ordered the crunchy grouper. it was wonderful. their key lime pie is out of this world. i thought the service was exceptional as well! i would recommend this place to anyone!
