shrimp po-boy was very good.. i had theshrimppoboy, with fries and an order of boudin. the poboy better than i expected, the bread was fresh, it was very similar to gambino's bread in new orleans, and theshrimphad a nice seafood taste to them without the breading ruining the flavor. the boudin was pretty good but were just a little bit too bland for my liking. i prefer my boudin to explode with flavor. others in my party really enjoyed the fried oysters, and alligator poboy while another didn't really care for the way the fried fish was prepared. it is not big on appearance but the food outweighed the ambience. overall, id give it 4 out of 5 stars on this visit.

good roast beef poboy, but muddy gumbo. had the roast beef poboy. came with gravy on, and fully dressed. only possible down side was that it was just on french bread, not leidenheimer or gambino's (which my wife assures me is important). overall it was excellent.

the gumbo, on the other hand, tasted like brown gravy withshrimpdrowned in it. my wife simply said it was very muddy and not edible.

overall, i'd give it a thumbs up.

just ok. the crawfish, catfish, aligator, andshrimpwere all fried in the same "over the counter" fish batter. nothing special. in fact, it took away from the taste of the fish/shrimp/etc. the gumbo was lacking in more than one area....kind of like brown gravy withshrimpin it. although my post sounds negative, the food was okay overall just not what i expected out of louisiana seafood.

you might drive right by kim's seafood and miss it, which would be a shake your head shame. the smell of crab boil greets diners with it's mouthwatering aroma. straight up, kim's has some of the best friedshrimpnorth of the coast. it's perfectly fried in a light mixture of flour with most emphasis on cornmeal. that's what gives it a one of a kind crunch followed by a sweetness that onlyshrimpfrom the gulf of mexico can impart. just try one by itself, no sauce or ketchup and you'll experience that flavor that is unmistakable. i never truly appreciated it till i moved away from the coast, but it is simply unique.

one thing to note is that the family that owns and staffs kim's are natives of new orleans and opened up in bossier after hurricane katrina wiped them out. so they know how to cook seafood properly. the folks who own kim's are saints fans, which is fine with me, i was born a saints fan. the memorabilia is scattered throughout the dining area and a big stuffed blue marlin holds a prominent position on the west wall. it's a very casual atmosphere, all diners will find comfortable.

kim's has an order counter where patrons choose their dishes from overhead menu screens. you pay there, get your drink cup, fill it from the fountain and take a seat. one of the staff will serve your meal at the table. i ordered theshrimppo-boy because honestly, it's one of my favorite meals anywhere. i took my niece and nephews there and we ate around 4pm after a movie matinee. so we had the place to ourselves. the perfect accompaniment to ashrimppo-boy is a barq's root beer, the two are a pair of destiny.

each table offers guests a roll of paper towels for those ordering boiled crawfish and shrimp, and needing extra. if the aroma is an indication, that selection would be a parked home run too. diners also have a choice of sauces in squeeze bottles tableside.

i ordered my po-boy dressed and added ketchup, not too much as to cover the flavor of the shrimp. it's a rather filling lunch owing to the french bread, so if you have to make a choice, eat the good stuff first.

the kids ordered theshrimppo-boys too and there were no leftovers, but there were happy faces and we all enjoyed the experience. stop by kim's for great po-boys and enjoy, we sure did.

great fried fish, which tasted like it had a batter of flour and mustard.  french fries were nothing special, just the regular frozen kind they dump from a plastic bag into the grease.  salad was iceberg lettuce with a slice of tomato.  drinks are from the fountain at the front.  food is served on styrofoam plates and also the drink cups are styrofoam.  my fried fish were so hot when they were plated they made two holes in my plate.  may have been the grease from the fish, but i did count two holes in my plate under my fish.  the bread for theshrimppo-boy was delicious, as were the tasty well seasoned generous amount of shrimp.  i could have used more mayonnaise.  there is a charge for extra mayonnaise and all the other sauces, except for hot sauce and ketchup.  egg fried rice side was very good.  i plan to go back for more.

mixed reviews about this place. ok. i am visiting this area shreveport on business. and decided to look on urbanspoons for a resturant that ratings (%) is high, so the ratings is 90%, and i decided to take a little distrance drive to bossier, la to try this place out. i worked some long hours and was ready for an awesome late lunch. resturant was not the cleaniness place even though the tables were wiped down (side of the tables were not clean, dirt). my order consist of fish/fry shrimp/egg fried rice/french fries. my fish was fresh and hot to order, but i was not feeling the same cornmeal used on the fish for the shrimp, which made theshrimptaste like the fish. egg fried rice, was not my favorite but again it was a small side portion, and of course the french fries was like any other fries. so, will i return back to this place. the answer is no, and not because the food was really bad, but because i do think their prices are over-rated and pricey for the atmosphere and settings. the prices on the menu make it seem like your eating from a 3-4 star resturants. but i would of rate the resturant location, food, atmosphere a 2-star. i know its other quality in bossier or shreveport. so to the ratings on urbanspoon is totally different for what i thought it was going to be like.

very dissapointed. i am very surprised that this place has received such good reviews. when ordering ashrimppo boy the cashier acted like she had no idea what we were ordering. theshrimppo boy was dry and had no flavor and just made with mayo, not the traditional po boy sauce.

me and my girlfriend vary visiting from kentucky and i wanted ashrimppo boy and some boiled crawfish. this place was well rated, close, and fairly inexpensive for seafood. totally worth it. theshrimppo boy was massive and honesty one of the best sandwiches i've ever had. the crawfish were amazing if you like spice. might be a little over some people's spice tolerance though. all in all, amazing.

off the chainshrimppoboys with a redone u.s. flag with saints' colors and fleur de lis symbols for stars hanging on the wall. fried rice as a side tops the experience off.
