shrimp po-boy was very good.. i had the shrimp poboy, with fries and an order of boudin. the poboy better than i expected, the bread was fresh, it was very similar to gambino's bread in new orleans, and the shrimp had a niceseafoodtaste to them without the breading ruining the flavor. the boudin was pretty good but were just a little bit too bland for my liking. i prefer my boudin to explode with flavor. others in my party really enjoyed the fried oysters, and alligator poboy while another didn't really care for the way the fried fish was prepared. it is not big on appearance but the food outweighed the ambience. overall, id give it 4 out of 5 stars on this visit.

fantastic boiled crawfish. it has been a year since i have enjoyed the mudbugs and kin's does it right. there were inexpensive and just the right amount of spice. when i come back to shreveport, i will visit this classicseafoodrestaurant again. service was quick and efficient.

kim'sseafoodis a restaurant who lied to the public after "hurricane katrina" to get grants to money from eastbank new orleans, la. to bossier city , la. they overcooked the crawfish last 4 time i've bought from them. unable to peel. when i complained after the 4th time . i was made fun of (for supposedly) not being able to peel them. refused to give $ for purchase back. they are an embarrassment to our city & the state. if they won trophys it's because they don't serve overcooked crawfish @ those contests. i will never set foot in kim'sseafoodever again . nor will i recommend them again. they are as fake as fake can get.

you might drive right by kim'sseafoodand miss it, which would be a shake your head shame. the smell of crab boil greets diners with it's mouthwatering aroma. straight up, kim's has some of the best fried shrimp north of the coast. it's perfectly fried in a light mixture of flour with most emphasis on cornmeal. that's what gives it a one of a kind crunch followed by a sweetness that only shrimp from the gulf of mexico can impart. just try one by itself, no sauce or ketchup and you'll experience that flavor that is unmistakable. i never truly appreciated it till i moved away from the coast, but it is simply unique.

one thing to note is that the family that owns and staffs kim's are natives of new orleans and opened up in bossier after hurricane katrina wiped them out. so they know how to cookseafoodproperly. the folks who own kim's are saints fans, which is fine with me, i was born a saints fan. the memorabilia is scattered throughout the dining area and a big stuffed blue marlin holds a prominent position on the west wall. it's a very casual atmosphere, all diners will find comfortable.

kim's has an order counter where patrons choose their dishes from overhead menu screens. you pay there, get your drink cup, fill it from the fountain and take a seat. one of the staff will serve your meal at the table. i ordered the shrimp po-boy because honestly, it's one of my favorite meals anywhere. i took my niece and nephews there and we ate around 4pm after a movie matinee. so we had the place to ourselves. the perfect accompaniment to a shrimp po-boy is a barq's root beer, the two are a pair of destiny.

each table offers guests a roll of paper towels for those ordering boiled crawfish and shrimp, and needing extra. if the aroma is an indication, that selection would be a parked home run too. diners also have a choice of sauces in squeeze bottles tableside.

i ordered my po-boy dressed and added ketchup, not too much as to cover the flavor of the shrimp. it's a rather filling lunch owing to the french bread, so if you have to make a choice, eat the good stuff first.

the kids ordered the shrimp po-boys too and there were no leftovers, but there were happy faces and we all enjoyed the experience. stop by kim's for great po-boys and enjoy, we sure did.

strip shopping center restaurant with great crawfish. yes, it's a restaurant in a strip shopping center. yes, it's "order at the counter". yes, the furnishings and surroundings are "not upscale" (trying to be nice). but the crawfish are superb, the gumbo is delicious (although my friend complained about not liking the sage in it?), and their po-boys are excellent. a bit expensive (allseafoodis it seems), but go there for the food, not the ambience.
