ordered lunch on line thru skip the dish and phoned to confirm order. was told to pick up at 1230-1245pm. got to restaurant and order was not ready had to wait an additional 1/2 hour before i could get my order. won't be going back which is too bad as they used to be good. they obviously need more kitchen staff!!!

open amazing hours with the best sushi in winnipeg. seriously. go to this location .. even though it may be far .. the pembina location doesn't do it justice.

nothing to write home about. overpriced, small portions... i ordered their lunch combo bento box and it was okay. a name like kimchi sushi should denote some sort of korean cuisine ... but their korean menu is really small, sticking to basics like bulgogi, super disappointing.

small portions for what you pay for.. been there twice. first time was with my boyfriend, and it was decent. i don't remember much about my first visit since it was 6 months ago, but i remember that i wasn't too sure about coming back ever again. second time was with 2 of my close friends because we all wanted to try some place new, which was probably last week. ordered the sunomuno salad, tuna goma ae(?), the three some roll and the kim chi pancake with pork for us 3 friends to share. sunomuno and tuna goma ae came out first. the dressing for the sunomuno was very tangy as it had lots of vinegar, which may or may not be a problem to some people. my friends did not like it, while i enjoyed the overly vinegar taste. the only thing i can say bad about it was the portion size (it was served in a small brandy glass) and you could tell the noodles were previously cooked and cooled then reheated again, which gave it an odd texture. the tuna gomae salad tasted and looked good as it was served in a (plastic?) martini glass. upon eating the salad and mixing it around, we could not find pieces of tuna or avocado anywhere! there were maybe 3 (small) pcs of tuna and 3 (small) pcs of avocado but that was it. left us questioning their next dishes that we ordered, but we remained optimistic and hoped for the better. then the threesome roll came out, 6 pieces each the size of maybe no bigger than a toonie. didnt taste memorable nor great either. then lastly, kim chi pancake was alright in terms of taste. i've never had a kim chi pancake till that day so i can't really say if it was authentic tasting but my friends, who know their korean foods, have mentioned that it's slightly too thin compared to a usual pancake. bill came up to nearly $40 total (we didn't order drinks) and we left still hungry. ended up going to our usual sushi establishment because we just weren't satisfied.

overall, good service and gorgeous atmosphere but this place is too overpriced for mediocre, small portioned food. don't waste your money here, you're better off spending elsewhere.

small korean selection, but big on taste. i'd passed on trying kimchi sushi before today because i'd heard the selection of korean dishes was small (am on a korean food kick lately). but we'd acquired a gift certificate and decided to try it out for lunch. and we're so happy we did!

the green tea we'd ordered turned out to be genmaicha (toasted rice tea) and was smooth and delicious (not bitter as i've experienced in other restaurants). the haemul pajeon (seafood omlet pancake) was the best i've ever had (and i've tried several). and the hot stone bibimbap with gohot sauce was simply perfect. we'd also ordered some citron soy sauce (which had a surprisingly smoky taste to it) to try on the bibimbap, but the gohot sauce was too good to not use up all of it. we ended up trying out the citron soy as a dip for our shiitaki maki rolls and that was good too.

the prices might be slightly higher than i would prefer to pay normally for these dishes, but considering how good the food was, we're going to come back again for sure.

experience started right... ended with a bad taste in my mouth. friend and i went here on a week night and the place was not busy so service was fast. she ordered bibimbap and she thought it was good. i had the seafood pancake omelette, a spider roll and a few other rolls that were not not memorable. the food was ok, i've had better sushi + korean food at other places. the end of our dinner was not what i expected. we were seated at a table near the back of the restaurant, across from the restroom, although there was a wall division. a staff member exited the rest room and left a foul smell that permeated the entire back of the restaurant. i was so turned off that i plan on not returning to kimchi sushi in the future. please heed my warning for those who do want to try eating here: do not sit at the back of the restaurant.

so so overpriced never going again. honestly the food is good but i will never go again simply because of the prices. they're ridiculous. thirty bucks for two rolls is just absurd. for like 16-20 little pieces of sushi. no thanks. i'd rather spend my money elsewhere.

it's okay.... little pricey for the food that i had ordered. bibimbap that i ordered was a smaller portion than i'm used to from other korean restaurants, was also surprised that there was a charge for the egg that is accustomed to the bibimbap dish. my son had kalbi which was supposed to be served on a sizzling plate that had no sizzle. never the less the meat was seasoned well but on the chewy side. we also ordered sushi rolls which wasn't bad. overall if i crave korean food i'll go someplace.
