i didn’t hear of this place until my boyfriend and i were craving sushi one night (nevermind...i crave it all the time), and he lives in the area and mentioned it, so i tried it the first time about 6 months ago. since then, every time we’ve either ordered out or dined in, it’s always the same - consistent and delicious! i typically always go for the salmon sashimi (fresh, abundant pieces) and arollor two...which tends to leave leftovers... but my eyes are always bigger than my belly..lol. the bakudan is my favorite. however, if i could lose my sushi obsession, i’d want to try the other dishes they serve, it’s not just sushi, there are entrees and korean dishes as well. service is great, if we ever get anything packed up, they always include extra soy sauce and chopsticks. it doesn’t seem like much but you really don’t get that everywhere and it’s the little things that go a long way. the only thing i would say is you pay for the quality. it’s not outrageously priced, but if you are looking for cheap, it might not be the place for you. they do, however, have some really good lunch specials. if you’re in the area, you should try this place out!

small portions for what you pay for.. been there twice. first time was with my boyfriend, and it was decent. i don't remember much about my first visit since it was 6 months ago, but i remember that i wasn't too sure about coming back ever again. second time was with 2 of my close friends because we all wanted to try some place new, which was probably last week. ordered the sunomuno salad, tuna goma ae(?), the three somerolland the kim chi pancake with pork for us 3 friends to share. sunomuno and tuna goma ae came out first. the dressing for the sunomuno was very tangy as it had lots of vinegar, which may or may not be a problem to some people. my friends did not like it, while i enjoyed the overly vinegar taste. the only thing i can say bad about it was the portion size (it was served in a small brandy glass) and you could tell the noodles were previously cooked and cooled then reheated again, which gave it an odd texture. the tuna gomae salad tasted and looked good as it was served in a (plastic?) martini glass. upon eating the salad and mixing it around, we could not find pieces of tuna or avocado anywhere! there were maybe 3 (small) pcs of tuna and 3 (small) pcs of avocado but that was it. left us questioning their next dishes that we ordered, but we remained optimistic and hoped for the better. then the threesomerollcame out, 6 pieces each the size of maybe no bigger than a toonie. didnt taste memorable nor great either. then lastly, kim chi pancake was alright in terms of taste. i've never had a kim chi pancake till that day so i can't really say if it was authentic tasting but my friends, who know their korean foods, have mentioned that it's slightly too thin compared to a usual pancake. bill came up to nearly $40 total (we didn't order drinks) and we left still hungry. ended up going to our usual sushi establishment because we just weren't satisfied.

overall, good service and gorgeous atmosphere but this place is too overpriced for mediocre, small portioned food. don't waste your money here, you're better off spending elsewhere.

experience started right... ended with a bad taste in my mouth. friend and i went here on a week night and the place was not busy so service was fast. she ordered bibimbap and she thought it was good. i had the seafood pancake omelette, a spiderrolland a few other rolls that were not not memorable. the food was ok, i've had better sushi + korean food at other places. the end of our dinner was not what i expected. we were seated at a table near the back of the restaurant, across from the restroom, although there was a wall division. a staff member exited the rest room and left a foul smell that permeated the entire back of the restaurant. i was so turned off that i plan on not returning to kimchi sushi in the future. please heed my warning for those who do want to try eating here: do not sit at the back of the restaurant.

wish you well!. we enjoyed dinner here yesterday and were very pleased with the quality and flavor of the food. the sashimi and oysters were fresh and the xoxo specialrollwas inspired. my first time trying bibimpap and i was pleasantly surprised, especially the home made sauce. (that i was unable to get the recipe for!)
service was good and the owner was approachable and engaging.
i would like to suggest that there should be an effort made to reduce the msg however. we all suffered an msg hangover from the meal that lasted all night. this in itself would be a deterrent to return to an otherwise gem of a sushi find.

try their specials!. my first time here was in april and their service was horrible. i had their specialtyroll- i believe it was the xoxorolland it was soooo good! my friends loved their dishes too.

the second time, i was a bit iffy about coming again because of my experience with the service but it improved a lot from the first time. my 2 friends and i actually got our orders at the same time haha. i tried the bento special.. the gangnam stylerollx californiarollx 2 salad sides x gyoza. the californiarollwas whatever.. i didn't enjoy it. the 2 salads were very tasty and refreshing. the gyoza was nothing special. my favourite would be the gangnamroll:) awesome.

i really love how they deliver too. i tried their volcanorolli believe.. so good. lol basically i recommend any thing that is specialty or their rice dishes!

ok, but would rather go elsewhere. heard great things about this restaurant. setting was nice. looking at their menu it seems they are trying to emulate similar rolls from kenko niwa. although they were similar, i still think kenko makes way better sushi. their tntrollwas not even half as good as kenko. eel sauce was super salty androllwas lacking flavour. spicy prawn salad was pretty good and so was the xoxoxo roll. otherwise service was horrible. waitress got my order wrong and it took 1hr+ for us to receive our order. that's way too long for a few rolls and an appetizer. we had to ask 3 times about our order. and they had the nerve to add a tip onto our bill for a group of 6. i personally didn't feel she deserved the tip, but didn't want to create a scene. personally for the prices you pay for these items, i would much rather go somewhere else where the quality and service is better like kenko or wasabi.
