another pleasant dining experience.

one of mumbai’s top restaurant recently opened in dubai and of course we decided to visit.

the restaurant is very spacious. they have a bar area, a terrace, and a private room.

first they bring you papadum( crispy bread) with mint chutney and pickles.

we ordered khyber raan(225aed) for two, as it states on the menu, safe to say it will feed 4 people. chunks of lamb marinated for 24hrs and slow cooked in spices. so good.

chana masala(60aed):
chickpeas in spicy punjabi masala.

tandoor ka phool(40aed):
spiced broccoli and cauliflower. i don’t know how they cooked it and what spices were added but it is just delicious. i would never imagine that simple vegetables can be that good and full of flavors. i am still craving for it 😀

and i almost forgot to mention the bread: so tasty 🤤

i really love that they keep the ambience very authentic: interior, crockeries, staff uniform. the cherry on the top of this restaurant is the employees: hospitable, professional, with the excellent menu knowledge. it is always nice to dine in a place like that.

restaurant is located in dukes hotel on the palm, definitely worth a visit.

recommend.

i have lived for nearly four years in mumbai and i couldn’t visit khyber, one of the most renowned restaurants in mumbai. i clicked my heels in delight when i got to know that they’ve opened their first overseas outlet here in dubai. i immediately made a dinner plan to visit the multi-award winning restaurant that serves rich north indian cuisine. khyber in mumbai has hosted international celebrities like sir paul mccartney, richard gere and demi moore.

khyber
have you been to the absolutely phenomenal indian restaurant, khyber yet? do go if you haven’t already as you are going to love everything about this place. boasting a bar area, a terrace, many seating booths and a huge private dining room, the restaurant is spread over the 15th floor of the very fancy dukes dubai hotel which allows you to enjoy breath taking views of the dubai eye and marina skyline while indulging in the flavorsome rich north indian palette.

already famous in mumbai for serving mouthwatering cuisine since 60 years, this is the brand’s first international venture. it is operated by the same people who run it in india and the recipes used are the original ones that date back to 1958. basically, it specializes in food from the northwest of the subcontinent, near the khyber pass. styled in warm colors and ornate tapestries, you are going to sail away to the majestic mughal era while dining at khyber. in fact, it provides an aura of dining at some posh restaurant in the heart of mumbai itself!

the menu was so irresistible, we had to try everything! scroll down to let your eyes feast on the very delicious delicacies flaunting old-school taste.
starters
reshmi prawn – delicious well- marinated prawns cooked on the tandoor with fragrant spices
khyber chicken tikka – juicy pieces of chicken coated in khyber’s spicy red masala
tandoori lamb chop – tender chops prepared in the tandoor after being marinated with cardamom and coriander spiced yogurt
reshmi broccoli – a creamy delicacy done with yogurt and aromatic spices
main course
khyber raan – a scrumptious tender lamb leg, sufficient for a two person feast
butter chicken – a khyber specialty, this creamy boneless chicken dish was truly amazing, slow cooked in mild tomato sauce.
prawn mughlai – certainly a royal dish! done with tomato, coriander, cashws, khoya and red masala. came along with boiled eggs.
aloo palak – a light, yet tasty potato and spinach curry
dal makhani – black lentils and rajma prepared with tomato puree, cream and butter for a rich flavor
khyber chicken biryani – a traditional rice dish done with aromatic basmati rice and chicken curry, and garnished with nuts
assorted bread
dessert
ras malai – tempting soft cottage cheese patties on a bed of reduced milk and a dash of saffron

overall, this was one of our best experiences of dining at an indian restaurant! everything was just so finger-licking good, we could hardly find any flaw in the taste or quality of the food. the ambiance, friendliness of the staff and prompt service was highly impressive as well. i’ve finally a favorite for indian food!
the restaurant is open for lunch on fridays only, rest is all dinner nights. book yourself a table by dialing +971 4 455 1101.

dukes the palm
dukes dubai is the latest hotel to open on dubai’s exclusive palm jumeirah, a five-star property with a distinctive british identity that you wouldn’t necessarily expect given the modern facade. as the sister hotel to the award-winning dukes london, the elegant lobby promotes a quintessentially british charm with its leather high-backed armchairs, sausage dog ornaments and a victorian-style fireplace that evokes a distinct britishness without straying into stereotypes.

the location is a bit tricky, including the elevator you need to take to reach the restaurant. upon entering your warmly greeted. the menu is not too extensive which is a good thing. dont expect any fancy presentation, the food is good, rich and very satisfying. the decor and ambiance are really good!

would recommend it.

went there with family. the food was good. i don't think i have used the word 'good' for indian food at uae restaurants for a very long time. but here the food was really worth the money. the service was slow but the staff was very courteous and professional. the restaurant made a goof up but were nice enough to make up for it by giving us discount.

if not for the goof up and slow service i would have given a 5 rating. will definitely recommend this place to my friends

this is a new gem at the heart of dubai. we were there to celebrate my wife's birthday and our experience was awesome. the sitting arrangement gives you a feel of private dining that makes you feel much relaxed and comfortable. food was really exceptional all the way from starter to dessert. chef faizan personally visited our table and expressed his gratitude. recommend to all foodies looking for delicious food with exceptional service.

was hosting a family diner here, interiors classy, service poor, food below average therefore over priced. being a fine dine restaurant in palm jumiera one would expect good service but seems like khyber hired inexperienced staff who were struggling to manage few tables that were occupied. now let's get to the food: presentation was poor, food quantity decent portion but they don't have a variety on their menu and nothing new that you wouldn't find in a normal muglai restaurant. seems like the bartender was an ammature 😐 we ordered for the rose mojito and what we got was rose syrup with mint and really large cubes of ice. for that kinda service and food its overpriced.

visited the restaurent during the eid holidays . had very high expectations considering their very successful reputation in mumbai .

first the good part ... nice mughal ambience , very polite and accommodating front manager , good service , great views &location

food on the other hand was highly average for a fine dinning restaurent . plating was poor , veg options limited .. we tried the dal makhani .... very watery , veg kadai... was so red did not look pleasing either to eat or see .

in desserts the rabdi was good but the malai kulfi was horrible .. felt like it was sitting in the refrigeration for days .. too icy

overall very average experience .. nothing mind blowing ... would not recommend for the price ..plenty of better options to choose from in dubai

went to celebrate my wife's birthday. had quite a few fond memories of the place in mumbai. decor of the place is rustic with reminder of the old world charm of the mughal and rajputana era. the menu has a decent variety and the service is excellent. food is good just don't go with the mumbai expectation it is really good as compared to most dubai restaurants serving so called authentic indian cuisine

just went last week on thursday. the ambiance and interiors were superb, everything seemed so traditional and authentic. also excellent service and suggestions by the staff serving us, dont remember his name but did give good feedback about him in their feedback form.

finally the food, one great thing about the food was that you could actually taste the flavours and it wasn't over spiced liked other indian restaurants, the combinations were perfect. really great experience overall and will keep coming back for more and more. keep it up khyber dubai :)

to those who want to treat your guests to a five star indian restaurant then the newly launched khyber restaurant is a good option to know. an award wining restaurant in mumbai, is a favourite to many of well known celebrities such as amir khan to english celebrities richard gere, demi moore and is also a favourite to many royal families. it is obvious the bill is not going to look light but with fascinating interiors and mesmerizing views of the the palm islands and the sea, this ethnic north indian restaurant has a story to tell.
