kervan kebab house

what a great find!. i had heard of aturkishplace near work but until this week haven't been able to get over here. fortunately i was having lunch with a different co-worker than i normally do and we ended up trying this gem out.

i ordered the iskender plate which is beef doner served on top of a chopped pita bread smothered with tomato sauce and a side of white rice. my co-worker had the chicken shish kebab plate which is 2 kebabs, white rice and a garden salad. the wait was about 10 minutes for our food to be prepared and we checked out the imported food items they had in their store.

once the food arrived it looked and smelled as delicious as it tasted. portions were perfect and the price was $10 each after including the drink. all in all a great meal and i'm looking forward to stopping in again soon and trying out some more of the menu.

our favorite mediterranean restaurant. everything is fantastic!. everything i've had is fantastic and very authentic. the prices are great too and for the money you get more than you pay for. theirturkishtea is free. their baklava is the best i've ever had. it drips honey sauce, is stuffed with almonds and the filo is buttery light and wonderful. it's cooked to perfection and it's $1.00 a piece. seriously one buck. we're working our way through their menu and my only complaint is that i wish they would add more to the menu so i'd have new wonders for my palate.

the food is excellent as well as the friendly service. the baklava is so good you"ll smack your momma. i also enjoyed theturkishcoffee. i will be going back.

nice little treat. another one of those delightful small hidden restaurants. their menu is small as is their sitting space. the food is wonderful in flavor and is prepared/served promptly. they also provide a small salad bar and someturkishgrocery items.

the bestturkishfood. my fiance and i really enjoyed this place. they had the best kebabs that i ever tried.

hidden gem!. this is one of my favorite local spots. after traveling and living abroad and falling in love withturkishfood i was ecstatic to find kervan kebab house just down the road from my home. my husband and i love trying different items on the menu. the family that runs it is super nice and does an amazing job. the baklava is some of the best i've had!

great small sit down atmoshphere. although situated on a strip, it is quite a nice change of pace from a hustled eating experience. it is family owned and operated by an over the top polite mother and daughter team. the food was excellent (homemade btw) and the desserts were great including the prices. complementary freeturkishtea as well!!

hidden ethic treasure of tidewater. wife and i have been to turkey, and loved the food. since coming back to tidewater, have been dying for some good mediterranean/middle east food. while pasha is great for a fusion ofturkishand western food, kervan is the best mediterranean food i have had in the us. it is quaint and tiny, but the meals are the freshest, most delicious meals i have had in a while! the iskender dish was like it just came off the plane from turkey! and for the price, they are definitely one of the best deals in town!

great for something different!. we were at a hotel within walking distance and it was worth the walk! we've hadturkishkebabs before in europe and thought these were nearly as good! had the beef doner sandwich with the yogurt sauce.. very tasty and filling. nice people running the place. great atmosphere for a quick lunch or supper.

salad bar had kale which i love, olives and feta were my toppings! feel good food.turkishtea is great and free, baklava yummy! menu is small! i'll be back, to haveturkishcoffee.
