if you come in expecting the stuffiness of thedublinernext door, you wont like the irish times.
its building is 100 years old & the best experience is it's lunch crowd; office workers ,old american white haired irishmen quietly sip they're whiskys & beers and talk amongst themselves.
at night; college aged drinkers, locals, everybody, and a skelton crew of wait staff with not much tolerances for people who expect thedublinerstyle of ambiance.
lunch time; however you'll meet "kevin" (when he's there) a wonderfully friendly bartender, who's old world (american) irishness and charm are a blessing to a weary working stiff like myself at times, the owners have had the place since the 70s, the bar is that; a bar(pub) it shows sports and its lunch regulars love to talk sports, lite local poltics,& the redskins, caps, and the nats.
if your a traveler thats wants a nice well drawn guinness & to catch up on your team or watch some golf, while your wife & kids shop @ union station, this the place to wet your whistle.
formal atmosphere & or taking out the boss or your parents next door @ thedublinerfor sure!
