st. louis' new italian gem. katies new location did not disappoint on saturday evening. truly unique italian fare in a hip new location. we shared the bucatinipasta(infused with arugula) and served with pancetta, english peas, parmigiano reggiano, and a farm egg cooked in to the olive oil drizzle. this was truly amazing, not your typical creamy carbonara. this was a light approach with perfectly blended flavors. it doesn't hurt that katie herself was front and center in herpastacreating "lair"!
we also had the fig, butternut squash, and pancetta pizza, this with a nice reduced balsamic vinegar glaze over the top. the beer selection was great, including some local favorites and a well selected chalk board selection of seasonal brews. we didn't order wine but the prices and selection looked reasonable with some nice house selections all the way up to a reserve barolo.
