purpose of visit - while searching on google maps for places to eat in hoboken, i and my friend stumble upon this place. being an indian abroad, there's no joy better than eating the indian food.

location- located on washington street, just bit ahead of the 5th street intersection.

restaurant details - restaurant is packed and the staff is prompt in service. the ambience is good too.

order details - i along with my friend had opted for a $10 buffet lunch. it had
1)chickenpoppers - big in size and tasty and was well prepared.

2) fish fry- maybe tilapia but was amazing in taste.

3)chickenmalabar curry - the curry made with added grated coconuts, the taste was awesome.

4)chickentandoori - the portion size was big enough and was tasty too with the charcoal grill taste coming.

5)chicken wings - my friend had this one and was saying it was tasty.

6) paneer saag- this is basically a palak paneer vegetable, it was tasty enough.

7) batata vada- the famous street food of mumbai made from mashed potatoes, the taste wasn't same as mumbai but they ensured their best.

8) jeera rice- the rice was fresh and had a good aroma of jeera.

9) kheer - they made this in milkmaid.. and was tasty enough.

conclusion - overall it's a good restaurant, the staff is good and helpful and also the service being prompt ensures that you feel like visiting the restaurant again and again.

went to this place for a team lunch. we had the buffet here.the spread was quite balanced and good. they had salads, raita, kheer, batata vada, fish fry, chickentandoori, dal, palak paneer, chickentikka and egg plant.
the food was tasty with just the right spices. loved the batata vada, chickentandoori and palak paneer. only complaint was that thechickeninchickentikka was a bit undercooked.
the place was crowded which tells you that the food there is popular. but it does get cramped for space during peak hours.

cheers to indian food at karma kafe....
i tried the bhuna mutton, non veg platter, veg platter, chickentikka naan and paneer naan.

the non veg platter has mouth watering and juicychickentikka, seekh kebab and fish tikka which i had withchickentikka naan.
the platter is amazingly prepared with the right amount of spices and served with love. on the otherhand, the naan was a bit dry and is better paired with a curry dish than a dry one, like mine. can be avoided if you don’t wanna make your meal too heavy.

bhuna mutton is very good, served with dal and rice, is sufficient for one person and is one whe meal in itself.

veg platter has samosa, tikki and veg pakora and is a good appetiser to start the meal.
try it with beer.

do try karma kafe if you are in hoboken next time and wish for some authentic indian food.

this place is perfect for relishing some amazing indian flavors. it serves one of the finestchickendum biryani i have tasted in the city. also, they have a lunch buffet everyday which serves wide range of authentic indian cuisine. the ambience is awesome, service is quick and the menu is worth every single penny.

excellent buffet. found this restaurant using urban spoon and it delivered...succulent well-seasoned dishes...particularly thechickentikki masala and the chick peas and potatoes. all the flavor you ever wanted from indian food with seasoning that is spot on. i'd come back here even if the place were a dump, which it isn't....far from it. located on washington st around 12th street in hoboken, this beautifully decorated yet simple restaurant is worth the detour to whatever other restaurant (indian or otherwise) you'd previously been considering.

love it!!!. my absolute fave restaurant in jersey. fantastic food, great portions, very well priced esp for this economy. very cute lively ambience. awesome helpful waiters. try to grab the window seat. also love the outdoor cafe in the summer. a must try is the veggie samosas (huge and perfectly crispy and flavorful) the naan and thechickentikka masala. the stuff is addictive.
