this single piece of prawn costs 375. been here before a year. it used to be nominal price with ample quantity of food. terrible menu, where you have no other choice other than to go with the combos.

we were there for lunch and reached the restaurant by 1.30 pm and we have pre-booked. we have been asked to wait for 30 mins but it got extended to hour...finally we got the table and we’re waiting to place the order for 30 mins...it was not over...and then were waiting for the food for more than 30 mins..horrible...finally what we got was not at all worth for such a long waiting and for the money they charge. nothing special and it is created hype...

i have had one of the worst experience when went on a weekend. it was my second time visit there. for the money we are paying, there is no proper service staff allocated per table. everytime we need to stand in back of a server to get the additional quantity of main course. and though they knew we are waiting the staffs are avoiding just to attract more new diners who come newly . it was like waiting for 15 to 20 minutes for one idly. very unprofessional. for the charges we pay, one person should be allocated to the table to take care of the diners. i would not recommend this restaurant for a weekend. disappointed overall. big thumbs down to their service.

i was very sceptical about going to kck after reading the reviews, but i decided to give a try. i must say i was pleasantly surprised and absolutely loved my experience. each dish has a unique flavour profile and is absolutely delicious! haven’t seen so much variety before in other kerala cuisine restaurants. also, their set menus are a good deal - while the portions may seem limited - it’s definitely fit for one person. only the starters and desserts are limited - main course is unlimited. if you’re going with a group - would suggest ordering different set combos so you’d get a chance to multiple dishes!

really enjoyed -
duck curry and thattuappam
fish curry and kappa
chicken kizhi
cloud pudding

the taste of the food was great but the logic behind the menu was sick. al la carte is not available instead combo kind of package was given. this makes one very difficult to choose between foods and we are limited to certain foods which come under the combo. when it comes to food while we complete the starter itself it will be full and we cannot eat the main course.
even in the combo the mixture of different meat items was pathetic. it was kind of mixture of all types of non veg.
and pricing of combo was high

restaurant was a disappointment since we were forced to order four meals. the menu was like a puzzle or a maze, and we felt constricted. the complementary drink was a wasted one ( it was free) the only think we enjoyed was the cloud pudding. it is not enough for us to make a second visit or recommend this place to our friends. it’s kathi ( knife) keeri ( torn) keesa khali ( pocket empty) restaurant.
we need more than the ambiance and the hype. nothing can be satisfactory if authentic kerala food is served in ample portions to have a sumptuous feeling.

pre booking is recommended. the restaurant called back to even confirm.
they have options in set menu, a combo that includes beverage, starters, main course and dessert. the best part is main course is unlimited.
the combos range from 500 to 850, with each and every dish is authentic kerala flavors. the service is quick and staff is courteous to explain the menu, as all dishes are named in malyalam.

the food is flavorful and each dish is unique. their desserts are also delicious.
it is a must visit place for both veg and non veg eaters.

we had been here on a wednesday afternoon, no reservations done but were allowed. the place is kinda small but as soon as you enter you smell coconut oil. the ambience was good and has a see through kitchen. the service is a bit slow. the food options are quite few and confusing for lunch. we ordered a set meal from the the ammachi specials and appam & mutton stew . the starters quantity was too less and most items were unknown. the appam and mutton stew were amazing with loads if mutton pieces. the dessert we chose was the tender coconut pudding which was also great. overall we paid ₹1495 which was too expensive compared to the quantity provided.

kck foods - visited this place for lunch today. i was looking for a place which serves authentic karimeen pollichathu. and since this place was in my list, decided to hit this restaurant finally. visited this place with more expectation. we just walked in directly to restaurant and it was almost full. anyhow we were provided the menu which had only set menus and no ala carte. also they had seperate list for fish starters alone.

if you go as a two person, you will be forced to order two main set menus as one can't be shared by other person. so we have to order two set menus for 2 person. accompanied with dessert and drinks of our choice. we were two members, and was little disappointed.

->ordered pot meals - ✔️mutton stew with appam and ✔️chicken chattichoru. one ✔️karimeen pollichathu seperately costed 350/- size of the fish was very small and tasted decent.
portions were very less as they say it serves only single person. but very less quantity and more pricey i felt.
*karimeen pollichathu - not the best. but decent. i have had better ones.
*chicken chattichoru - matta rice mixed with chicken masala kinda rice and served with little portion of chicken gravy with one piece of chicken. taste was good.

*appam with mutton stew- white mutton stew(two mutton pieces ) went perfectly with appam . loved it mild and little sweet. again overpriced.

last- we opted for passion fruit and guava temptation drinks. desserts - cloud pudding and paccha payyar paayasam !! desserts tasted yummm !! 😋

overall costed us 1549/- would have been satisfied if the portion was good.

overall i recommend if you are looking for authentic kerala food. i might re-visit this place again once they start serving ala carte 😌
bon appetit!

this place is known for its authentic flavours from the gods own country: kerala. i have visited this place quite a few times and at the time it's was a la carte concept. now when i visited it last, they have changed the concept and made it into a buffet kind of option. however the price for each plate of buffet starts minimum of 499 plus tax. and the items included in each portion of buffet, it's not necessary that a person may like each and all. so last sunday when i went there, it was not just me but all, that were confused withh the menu. they did not know what to order or what to eat. because as per the south indian concept, the menu given for the lunch time consisted mostly the items that we would either have during breakfast or dinner. so i was a lil bit disappointed of this chang d concept. my husband had order beef curry and pazhampuri plate of buffet, and i had ordered kappa and meen curry , along with a veg buffet plate.. the server was quite nice to provide rice to me because i wanted to have rice with all the kerala curries we had got as the part of the buffet plates.. portion wise it was apt . it may look less at first but by the time u relish the food, u start filling up and u do not require another serving of anything.. at last we ordered for coconut pudding, it was thhe star of the buffet. u will have a variety of desserts to choose from but i chose the above and finished my meal with that..
a feedback to the owners of kappa chakka kandhari is that this buffet concept i didn't like it personally and i can say v confidently by looking at the faces of the people there bec everybody needed an explanation from the menu so u can infer how much confusing it was. if they can chang it back to the good old times it would be lovely 💞💞

we chanced upon this place on visiting nungambakkam. the food was exemplary with a region based fixed menu that gives and awesome experience of kerala cuisine. the starters like calamari roast , fried chicken and prawn kizhi were delicious while mains like pidi kizhi curry were some novel items we had never tasted before...the idea of a fixed menu choice was brilliant in its execution. the tender coconut pudding was fresh and velvety. all in all a complete gastronomical delight. my only regret is we were too hungry to wait and take pics of the courses as they were served 😃😋
