not worth the time or money. i went there for the buffet and maybe i just didn't get there early enough. everything was like it had sat for a long time. it was bland and nasty. thechickenmahkni (sp?) was the only thing edible. but for the price, i would think it would be good. to top it off, the owner or manager lurking around was kinda weird. i see why the place was empty.

not worth the money. have tried the food multiple times over two years before writing this review. either most of the positive reviews here are fake or the people were lucky. the lunch buffet is acceptable. it feels like someone is training to cook, every batch tastes different. the dishes at the lunch buffet are all fairly easy to prepare but still have the spice ratios and flavors off. about the dinner menu. the spices were out of proportion every single time. i have absolutely no clue where they learnt to makechickenkebab. almost everychickendish they make has the samechickenin it and it seems that every single piece ofchickenhas been sitting there being boiled in a pressure cooker or something all day. i may be wrong but you don't use wet pre boiledchickenforchickenkebabs. kebabs are supposed to be marinated, preferably overnight. these kebabs were wet oddly shapes pieces ofchickencovered in some shoddy spices. a real kebab has uniform flavor soaked into the meat of thechickenand is made over hot coal for a smoky flavor, never wet. the slices of cucumber served with the kebabs had been sitting out all day and were shriveled and dry. the naan was not naan. it was pita bread, we had specifically asked for naan. when you cook indian dishes you should leave the ginger garlic paste, onions, tomatos and all to cook well before adding the main part of the dish like thechickenor the veggies. doing so takes out the raw smell of those ingredients and gives birth to the beautiful smell of the curry with the spices. this basic technique is rarely ever paid attention to in this restaurant's kitchen. all that combined with handfuls of aromatic whole spices like cloves or cardamom just destroy the flavor. if you use cloves in a dish 2 or 3 is a good number usually.
the prices are exorbitant for the quality of the dishes. i'd still be hesitant to pay $5 for a dish because it's a chore to stomach these unsavory dishes. maybe i missed ordering all the entrees they're actually good at making. i've eaten here about 8 times in two years at regular intervals. i have seen absolutely no improvement in their cooking. even someone who's never had indian food would do a better job of makingchickencurry by following a recipe online.

when first opened, the buffet was delicious and varied. their desserts were hot and yummy. their tables settings are clean and beautiful. now the last time we went which was few months ago, the buffet was gross and similar; curry this and thatchickenpieces were broken and the meat itself weren't plump and juicy. the naans were small and burnt and old. the desserts were purée enought to feed elders who can't eat solids. i would not eat there if it was free.

no thanks. just got back with lunch from here. had the samosas andchickentikka masala. thechickenwas rather tough and mostly tendons and ligaments rather than actual meat. the samosas were ok, but i could make better at home without trying. quite frankly, the quality was not what i was expecting and at nearly $20 for my meal i will not be going back.

going down hill fast. as with most food establishments, when it first opened kababs was very good. i'm always watchful when a place operates as a buffet, so not very surprised to see the quality of the food go south. reheating food left over from the day before does not work on a buffet, especiallychickenwhich gets very dry and very hard after several days of being reheated. servers don't know anything and the cook does not seem to care if food is good or not. simple things like having nan ready on the buffet line is a no brainier but often "not a priority" as we heard the cook tell the wait staff when we asked them to ask when it would be available.it's to bad because we like that type of food, however we won't be back and we will not recommend kababs to anybody.

yummers. i go to kababs whenever i crave indian food. my personal favorite is thechickenmakni and i add garlic naan to it. my friend likes thechickentikka masala and the lassi. i don't go anywhere else for indian food, because this place is close to my house and i have heard is better than the indian restaurants on the east side. hint: if you want to get food to go, order it 20 minutes a head of time, going in and order in person takes quite a bit of time. other than that, its a gem, especially since the west side does not have a lot, but kababs would be great on any side of town. bonus: if you eat in the restaurant, you can listen to bollywood music while you eat!

what is this?. i have never had indian food before, and i think today will be my last adventure at trying it. we had the lunch buffet, and used our $10 living social deal for $20 worth of food. i suppose it is fairly priced, the buffet was $8.99 for all you can eat and they had about 12 different lunch items, rice, salad, and dessert options. i had the mint lemonade, which was good, but not very minty, however it was $2.99- i say stick with water here. the naan bread taste like, well- nothing. the jasmine rice was good. thechickendishes were all made withchickenthighs (cheap, and very fatty). i suppose if i knew what the ingrediants were in the food, i may have been able to eat more, but the only thing i found familar and that i could even swallow was the veggies in tomato sauce. our bill came out to $24.91 for 2 lunch buffets and 2 drinks.

great! but..... i am generally unimpressed with the indian restaurants in wichita, but this is a good one with a few caveats.

their food is good, by and large. some of it is excellent. the kormas andchickentikka masala are good. if something has cream as an ingredient, expect it to be in american proportions (speaking of which, from my limited experience with indian food, i doubt that this stuff is very traditional, mostly due to cream content).

my most recent trip, i tried the biryani (spicy rice). excellent! think fried rice made with yoghurt sauce (i think) and indian-style spicing. very spicy when i had it, though i'll bet they'd tone it down if asked.

my one disappointing meal here was saag paneer, which is something i usually like. i don't know whether they used ghee or cream, but there wasn't nearly enough (for a change). there was no spiciness, either the hot kind or otherwise. bland. barely any paneer, either.

the following are my main complaints:
service is spotty. the last trip, 3/4 meals had an error (messing up spice levels on two and wrong meat in one). the server was new, though, and she claimed that one error was the kitchen's fault. it seems like we have a new server every time we go.

the buffet is... well... bad. i'm surprised to see the positive votes for it here. i don't know what goes wrong when they are cooking in large masses, but something is just off. it isn't disgusting, but nothing i would pay money for.
