jolly grubber has been a favourite for years, such fond memories of trips to durban as a child and walks to the jolly grubber in central durban (when it was safe enough to stroll through the streets).
very impressed with the pop-up store in north beach that i took the opportunity to eat at almost every day of my vacation. so conveniently situated as well.
the service was good, and the food just as i remember. had to stop by for 'padkos' on my way out back to jhb.
we ordered the platters mostly (with seekhs and kebabs and chicken and chips) because there was always a big group of us. the chicken is awesome. i also had the saucy strips withchipsand pita- delicious.
the mac and cheese with tomato was nostalgic and the steak rolls too.
there's nothing quite like jolly grubber when you're in durban.
