johnny longboats

the sunrise. this place was a wonderful place to start our day. we had just watched the sunrise on the beach. we walked over to johnny longboats and had a wonderful surprise. the atmosphere is fun. it is right on the beach, which i loved! the windows are open to the beach. so it was like eating in our own beach house.
the food was great. i had the french toast. it was sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar. yum! my hubby had steak and eggs. he devoured it! coffee was hot and the server left us a personal carafe.
our server was great. she even gave us a couple of plastic cups to take. she was indulging my adventure of the day which was to see a sunrise and sunset in the same day from coast to coast! the cups were a keepsake.
this is our new spot for breakfast on the east coast.

we had breakfast and dinner here. so far our favorite restaurant in palm beach. great service, great, affordable food and open to alter the menu. my wife wanted a crab meat sandwich that was not on the menu. the kitchen accommodated her and made her a great crab meat sandwich which had more meat than bread.

nice beach bar atmosphere. many locals. decent food, more sandwiches and such. good prices

service is terrible everytime i've gone... bartenders eating while talking to u and food is just ur average reheated crap... would be ok for location but the service turned me off to it

beer is warm. food tastes like something that was purchased frozen and heated up in the kitchen.

disappointed at the food selection, atmosphere was great. great place for a couple of cocktails!! kids were not impressed!

great place. i have visited about 10 times. (just moved to the area) food has always been good! service is a real hit or miss. either your get ok service or very poor service. the only thing missing for this place to be great is the server's training. focus on this and it will be great....don't and i will not continue to return.

best service ever!. being a south florida native, i found myself strolling singer island beach when noticing the establishment johnny longboats. exceptional food and service to go along with a true south florida beach atmosphere or vibe. along side these extravagances, the service was phenomenal. karen was my waitress, she was extremely helpful when it came to explaining the specials, which included everything from beer to wine to food. overall nothing negative to say, if you do end up at this fine establishment, i would highly recommend the waitress karen if your seeking outstanding service and a wonderful smile.

not good for a local. i moved to singer island and thought i had found a watering hole. they do have a couple of good bartenders. but there was only one who ruined it for me. i won't be back. i go to the tiki bar now.

michele. had dinner last night at johnny's. food was served cold. i ordered crab cake and fresh vege's. veges were nearly raw and the crab cakes were cold. my husband ordered fish in a bag. his veges were also nearly raw and cold. he did not order sweet potato fries but there they were. they were warm but not hot. the server took it back to the kitchen.
i asked to see the manager.
when the server came to ask if we needed anything, i commented "where is my food, my friends are finished but i have nothing". this was about a 15 minute wait. still no manager. when he finally came to the table he mumbled something about desert on him.
while returning to the table after a visit to the ladies room i heard a server say "i can return it to the kitchen". that should have been my 1st clue about the service at this place.
slow service and cold food is no way to attract repeat customers.

loved it!. after reading other reviews, i was very hesitant to go here, but this was the closest restaurant to our hotel, and after an 8 hour drive we didn't feel like going to far our first night. it was great! all the other "renowned" restaurants in the area had such pricey food, and their quality was not any better than here, trust me we tried a few! sure the decor and view may be better, but paying double and almost triple the price for fried shrimp just for that is ridiculous. we ate here several times during our week stay, and not once did we get a bad dish or bad service. we stayed in palm beach during the coldest week they have had in years, so we didn't get to enjoy the beach; but we did get to enjoy some great food here. some excellent dishes to try are fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp, crab bisque, and their crab melt. if you want a great meal in a laid back beachy atmosphere than this is the spot!

totally terrific alcapulco omelet this morning. karen gave us super service. came back for happy hour!
