overpriced and not well executed. have tried this place 3 times now based on the pretty good reviews. we come to orlando about once per month and are always looking for good places to eat. here are a few of my thoughts on this place:
frog legs sounded good, but on all 3 trips we couldn't tell the buffalo ones from the scampi ones. they were tender and decent, but bland. we kept trying figuring they had given us 2 platters of the same ones by accident on the other visits. also, we had different people with us each time who wanted to try them.
most dishes come completely a la carte, so $30 plus for a piece of fish becomes $40 plus if you add a starch and a vegetable side. fish portions are pretty small, too - not worth it imo and i don't mind paying for a good meal.
last trip was the worst one, so we won't be back. waitress was pretty rude on several occasions.
i ordered grouper topped with jumbo lump crab meat and mushrooms. when i got it, i saw some strands of what looked like crab, but not one lump (and certainly no jumbo lumps). when the waitress asked if everything was ok, i said, "wasn't this supposed to have jumbo lump crab meat?" she put her finger within an eighth of an inch of my fish pointing and said, "it's right there". i said it wasn't jumbo lump crab, but whatever and just wanted her to go away after she almost touched my food. she said it must have cooked down and left.
15 minutes later, she stopped back with a shot glass sized container and said she told the manager i was disappointed and he sent this over. it as a piece of crab meat in a sauce. i had finished my meal already and just said thank you.
there were 5 of us and no one loved their meal. my wife's salmon was way overcooked and the others all had some issues. decent overall at best, but nothing to come back for and certainly not at those prices.
if you go, i hope you fare better. the sister restaurant, moonfish is much better imo.
