just disgusting, terrible food for the price, the owners were there and just ignored the poorserviceand food going out. the main meal was reheated! like rubber. i'll never be going there again and if you value hygiene i would suggest you give it a miss too. the bathrooms were filthy and the wait staff, particularly the owners, were vacant upstairs.

good brunch with a group friends,servicewas excellent & staff made the place kid friendly bringing out colouring & kids menu.
coffee was good.
food was really tasty, teddy best & burritos were really good especially the fried potatoes under the burrito yum.
cool atmosphere with lots to look at.

went there on anzac day just been - 1st time to this joe's garage but i have to say it was the best experience!  theservicewas amazing and so friendly and really made the brunch worth it's while.  my husband ordered the biggest coke they could legally give him without ice and a straw and they brought it out in a huge milkshake jug!  it was great!  and my lemon, lime and bitters was superb.  i ordered gorgeous george - and man was it gorgeous!  perfect crispy potatoes with crispy bacon and eggs!  so good and will definitely go there again.  thanks joe's garage!!!

i have been into this joe's garage a couple of times and have had no problems with thisserviceat all. the food is delicious and filling. the staff members are lovely and friendly. i also love the chips as it looks homemade. the chips remind me a lot of the chips from a food truck in auckland called double dutch fries (i think that's the name).

when i bought my vegetarian salad i felt the cashew nuts spoilt the dish. otherwise i thought it was delicious with those roast veges.

ordered coffee and sausage roll. coffee came out nice and quick. was anime flavour but was not very hot. sausage roll did not come asked waiter he went to kitchen to see cook. finished coffee still no sausage roll. this is like over 10 minutes. got sick of waiting asked to have food as takeaway.servicepoor😔 won't be back.

recently visited with a friend and my partner for lunch during the week. as we walked in the waiter found us a table and promptly brought us the menu's and took our drinks order.serviceon arrival good. coffee was great! smooth and not too hot but not too luke warm. 

food was brought out relatively fast and at the same time and was very tasty. i ordered the schnitzel, chips and gravy which was tasty and filling! partner had a chicken burger which she enjoyed also. friend order pancakes which he said were great and upon my judgement weren't small either! 

setting is rustic and open allowing people to move about with freedom. 

would recommend for a relaxed lunch with friends or family or even business meeting

the food was tasty, but nothing fantastic. very poor value for money as the portions were very small. we went as a group (14 total). some of the meals took a while longer to come out than others. the only child's meal (pikelets) came out last and were not fully cooked as they were still runny in the middle. on the drinks menu, the beers were higher percentage than on the beers themselves. the decor was nice but theservicewas average. we asked for a high chair. didnt get it. we had to find one ourselves. and they asked about our meals when we had practically finished them. i definitely will not be going back. i can get more delicious, cheaper meals at many other places.

25/04/2012 my husband and i eat out on average 3 times per week at restaurants, so friends always come to us for recommendations. we visited joes garage in upper riccarton for the first and might i say last time. theserviceto us and other patrons was beyond slow, but the worst thing was watching the "manager?" rolling ice cream balls and pushing off the scoop without washing her hands, then licking the scoop. the main chef flattening meat patties with his bare hands without washing them first and both he and his assistant both eating as they were cooking. i find this disgusting and unhygienic. i ordered and paid for wine which they then informed me they had run out of, and was offered no refund so had to choose another. never will i be recommending this place, instead i will be saying "stay away".
