25/04/2012 my husband and i eat out on average 3 times per week at restaurants, so friends always come to us for recommendations. we visited joes garage in upper riccarton for the first and might i say last time. theserviceto us and other patrons was beyond slow, but the worst thing was watching the "manager?" rolling ice cream balls and pushing off the scoop without washing her hands, then licking the scoop. the main chef flattening meat patties with his bare hands without washing them first and both he and his assistant both eating as they were cooking. i find this disgusting and unhygienic. i ordered and paid for wine which they then informed me they had run out of, and was offered no refund so had to choose another. never will i be recommending this place, instead i will be saying "stay away".
