joe's garage

we had dinner here with a group. there wasn't much parking, which was fine. the place was clean and tidy. some of the staff were quite standoffish and quiet, but they were mostly nice. the food was lacking quite a bit. this was my first experience at a joe's garage, but i'd heard mixed reviews from a broad range of people. my vege burger was not very nice, and you expect a bit more when you're paying almost $20 for a burger. the patty was mush and just fell apart like mashed potatoes, and the only other things in the burger were some dry looking red onions, a rib part of some iceberg lettuce (which was very bitter, as are all the thick rib parts in lettuce), and a couple slices of unripe tomatoes. the green tomato chutney wasgoodthough. my chips were severely over seasoned and salty. my husband will eat anything, and even he said they were too salty. such a pity, as i wanted to like the food.
we likely won't be returning again.

good brunch with a group friends, service was excellent & staff made the place kid friendly bringing out colouring & kids menu.
coffee was good.
food was really tasty, teddy best & burritos were reallygoodespecially the fried potatoes under the burrito yum.

went there on anzac day just been - 1st time to this joe's garage but i have to say it was the best experience!  the service was amazing and so friendly and really made the brunch worth it's while.  my husband ordered the biggest coke they could legally give him without ice and a straw and they brought it out in a huge milkshake jug!  it was great!  and my lemon, lime and bitters was superb.  i ordered gorgeous george - and man was it gorgeous!  perfect crispy potatoes with crispy bacon and eggs!  sogoodand will definitely go there again.  thanks joe's garage!!!

recently visited with a friend and my partner for lunch during the week. as we walked in the waiter found us a table and promptly brought us the menu's and took our drinks order. service on arrival good. coffee was great! smooth and not too hot but not too luke warm. 

food was brought out relatively fast and at the same time and was very tasty. i ordered the schnitzel, chips and gravy which was tasty and filling! partner had a chicken burger which she enjoyed also. friend order pancakes which he said were great and upon my judgement weren't small either! 

setting is rustic and open allowing people to move about with freedom. 

would recommend for a relaxed lunch with friends or family or even business meeting

great restaurant - could be a bit more themed. despite the christmas decorations being up - didnt impress me it was christmas.
greeted at the door - friendly warm welcome -impressive.
restaurant was busy despite it being midafternoon.
offered drinks immediately we sat down and reviewed the menu.
good selection of dishes. dinner menu looked impressive.
roast vege salad -goodlooking salad with enough baked vegetables. plenty of feta cheese scattered throughout the dish. great.
i was a bit overwhelmed with the menu. i ordered the autobahn - but didnt realise it didnt come with veges or salad - maybe the wait staff could suggest sides with this dish or suggest it doesnt come with veges/salad. however it came as how the menu said it would. and it was very tasty. schnitzel was soft and tender. chips were perfect. gravy for me was a bit thin but it was agoodmeal. i think overpriced at $18.50 for what it was, basically a scoop of fries with a schnitzel on top.
loved that the food was prepared front of house so you could watch it cook.
well done to the wait staff. best attention i have had. asking about more drinks, was the meal fine, even at the till afterwards - well done to them.

would i return? yes - indeed - lots ofgoodfood to try.
