a perfectplaceif you want to wait for an hour, be abused by the manager and go home hungry

i was really looking forward to a great burger. i went to jo'burger near st steven green. it was around 7:30 pm. as it was pretty full inside (it is a small place), i chose to sit outside. i ordered straight away - just a burger, no sides, no extras, no drinks and then waited patiently for the food to arrive. after 1/2 hr, i asked the waiter who was serving next table how long was the order still going to take. he said i"t is coming now, let me check." he never came back.

after 15 or so more minutes i went inside and said to one of the servers, admittingly with some irritation in my voice - "this is bordering on ridiculous. how long does it take to flip a burger?". the guy said that he was sorry, that they were very busy and the food was coming now. so i went back to the table. after maybe 5 minutes some guy (i have no idea who he was), charged out of the restaurant and screamed at me in front of everyone "if you are ever going to abuse my staff again, i am going to throw you out. " and he run back to the restaurant, without letting me say a word.

i was dumbfounded. who was he? i presume he was in charge. i followed him inside and tried to get an explanation what prompted his abusive behaviour. he was not prepared to say it, to explain, to call the "abused staff" so we could sort it out. he was cocky and arrogant. i said i don't swear in public, so i really would like to know what was it all about. he still would not tell me. i said i will post about this on social media - he just laughed and said that i could post whatever i wanted. then, like nothing happened, he said that my burger was coming now. i was lost for words. i wanted to tell him where to stick it, but i just said that i didn't want it, then turned and left.

i can't believe that a person like this is allowed to deal with the public. he didn't want to know my side of the story, he didn't ask - what seems to be the problem? he just attacked and abused me. if the restaurant was really busy (which it wasn't), the waiter could have told me that there will be close to an hour wait for the food and ask me if it was ok and i wanted to wait for it. those guys just don't give a damn. i will never go there again. you can at your own peril. the food looked good, but so are many other places in st stephen green. not worth the hassle and aggravation. go elsewhere.

great choice of burgers, friendly staff, seating isn't that comfy inside as you might have to disturb some fellow diners to get to your seat and vice versa. service is quick and you get some good beers and wines to accompany the burgers. thisplaceis run by same guys who run crackbird and skinflint in the city.

loved the burgers here and the fact you can basically compose your burger! coolplacealso, with the murales and the dj. the service is very basic (not rude but don't expect the treatment of a french restaurant) but that's the style of theplaceand i like it.

jo'burguer, i have to admit, was perhaps the biggest disappointment in dublin.
when i went there i was looking for something quick so i ordered the hummus, caramelized red onion toast. first the toast took arround 20m to be made and once i tasted it the bread was completely cold. as for the taste, sadly, the only thing with flavour was actually the caramelized red onion, and i was so looking forward for the hummus...
i also had a lemonade and that was well done.
looking at the menu the prices seemed pretty reasonable.
theplaceitself has good decoration but it was a bit chilly and the music on the background didn't fit the space.
a couple arrived 2m minutes after us and it was only we were leaving that they finally received their meal.
maybe it was just a bad day but i didn't feel like coming again.

jo'burger is my go toplacefor a good burger in dublin. my favourite is the satay burger (think it's the molestane) it's peanutty without being too overpowering. the bun it comes in is fab - i've also had it in a wrap before but do prefer the bun. both the chips and the sweet potato fries are unbelievable - especially those crispy ones at the bottom of the tin! thisplaceis heaven for sauce lovers like me - the curry mayo and the satay creme are especially good! not a huge fan of the homemade lemonades but they do a good apple cider!

visited jo' burger last night and i will go as far as to say after one visit, this is my favourite burgerplacein dublin. i absolutely love a good burger and thisplacejust took the number 1 spot on my list. i built up the hunger all day in work and it was worth it. i went with lamb burger in the zondi style. (thai green curry mayo, coriander and chilli), sweet potatoes, and we got the 3 dips of hot curry, pesto mayo and garlic. i genuinely must have eaten this is record time as all mine was gone before becky flynn had half of hers gone. the best part about this meal for me, was everything was exactly as i had hoped it would be before i received it. the lamb was so tasty on the burger and the zondi style went perfect with it. the sweet potatoes portion was extremely generous and made perfectly too. the staff where good, was never left waiting long and never bothered you while you where eating. i genuinely couldn't fault my visit to jo' on this occasion. it won't be often that i will give a 5 on a review but based solely on this experience, i couldn't not give it. well done jo', i will definitely be seeing you again.

chose to go here after doing the viking splash tour and only reason we went here was because we wanted a burger and i had heard they done sweet potato fries.

service ok. we had a nice window seat so could look out over a v busy castle market on a sunny day.

my chicken burger was good but the sweet potato fries were a let down. they're cubes firstly but also they were v greasy.

i usually judge aplaceon whether or not i would go back.. i wouldn't return here.

it's just ok

i've been here a few times and it never disappoints. went for the dobson beef burger with added avocado and a side of sweet potato fries. i loved it! quite filling i would've gone for the half nude if i realised what it was! its a half a bun instead of a full one. i'm also a big fan of their lemonade, mint and lime is my favourite, so refreshing its like a non alcoholic mojito! the drink menus are different and the restaurant layout's quite casual and cool. a greatplaceto go with friends or even with family for a quick meal. my dad loves theplaceactually! staff are always really friendly and helpful too.

this blog is beginning to make it painfully obvious that i spend the majority of my time eating. however, i am on a mission to bring you the best grub in dublin and so, duty calls. and yes, it is a real excuse!!

so this weekend, my fabulous friends and i ventured happily to jo’burger which is situated in castle market, just off south william st. jo’burger is the sibling eatery of skinflint, bear and crackbird – all of which have a great reputation for using wholesome irish ingredients to produce high quality meals. i have yet to visit these restaurants but after this weekend, i cannot wait to sample and review.

so, back to theplacein question. we arrived at jo’burger at around 2pm, narrowly missing the lunchtime rush and were seated outside to admire some surprising irish sunshine. choosing to order from the lunch menu, i selected the ’10 euro jo burger’ with fries, while my friends both opted for the ‘chili chicken, coriander, pickle, mayo sandwich’. the lunchtime menu is excellent value for money.

my friends assure me that their sandwiches were great saying that combination of ingredients were filling and flavoursome. they were also big fans of the ‘hot curry mayo’ which was ordered as a side. but, in my opinion, it is all about the burgers. love the burger, be the burger.

hands down, one of the best burgers i’ve sampled in dublin to date. it was positively huge and yet, i ate every bite! cooked to perfection, the meat was juicy and tender while the bun was soft and fresh. and, that wasn’t even the highlight! jo’burger produce their own relish which is absolutely perfect – i was tempted to ask to take a bottle home. actually guys, if you’re reading this – can you start sending it to supermarkets?

one last shout out for the homemade ‘soda mint lime’, which i may or may not have added a measure of rum to, creating a pretty awesome mojito. jo, you have my heart and more importantly, you have my belly!

so quirky. really niceplaceto go if you love a burger but want a new twist on the old reliables. it's always buzzing with atmosphere, often has a dj jamming in the corner. some people may find the music a bit loud if they're not into it. oh and definitely try the lemonade!

went here with a couple of friends 2 weeks ago. probably the nicest burger i've ever had in dublin was so good. i got the dobson beef burger with an egg on top too. we also got chips to share and you get plenty of them. we sat outside and was quite warm because of the heaters so we didn't mind. theplaceplays really good music and staff were very friendly and efficient. food and drink is very reasonably priced will definitely be back. everyone was happy with their food and my friend got an open burger type thing in the photo below!

i had a very nice experience here. went here for lunch for a nice bite to eat. i had heard good things about the restaurant and was eager to try it out.

the restaurant is lovely, really good atmosphere. the waiters are quite hipster so not everyone will like them i think but i found them to be nice.

i ordered a lamb burger (which was so tasty, real moist succulent meat) with avocado, caramelized banana, goats cheese, relish, lettuce, onion and tomato with the crispiest freshest bun ever! and a giant mint homemade lemonade and a side of really fresh cut sweet potato fries.

never had a single issue with the food or the lemonade i ordered. everything tasted fresh and packed with flavor.

there was also a good choice for vegetarians which still to this day can be quite difficult to find.

overall theplacewas pretty amazing. i will definitely be back to test out the other great choices of burgers. i'ts a real laid back funky place, great for groups i imagine.

jo’burger on castle market is a nice cozyplacewhere you’ll find some of the best burger in dublin. it doesn’t seem like much from the outside - very similar to most of the restaurants in that part of town, but the food does the talking here! there’s something about places that have exposed brick walls on the inside that adds a unique charm to the place, and it’s no different here.

so it’s all about the burger here (and beer, but let’s not get distracted now). they have a lunch menu combo where you get a burger with a lemonade or with fries for 10 quid, or 11.95 for the fires *and* the lemonade. and of course, their regular menu is filled with burgers and a bunch of sides that pair up nicely with them. i had the morako - strips of bacon and brie piled high on a lamb patty with relish on top. it was a mighty impressive ‘stack'. the burgers was quite superb, and everything about the burger was quite awesome along with the relish. i do like my burger with a touch extra seasoning, which was lacking here, so be sure to let them know to be a little liberal with the salt & pepper while making the burger. the side of onion rings we ordered were quite delightful as well - crunchy and without a lot of oil having soaked into the batter, these made for a perfect accompaniment along with the burger.
