the strip
floating island – soft meringue, rice custard, crispy rice, jasmine pearls, chocolate shell, warm caramel. in a city blessed by one of the most underregarded chinatowns in america locals are, perhaps appropriately, rare to consider lasvegasboulevard asian eateries for a special occasion meal, but previously having only visited jasmine for the now-discontinued fountains brunch a recent look spurred by the year of the monkey celebration proved that the oft-overlooked destination for foreign tourists remains worthy of its reputation while elevated prices are largely justified by an unmatched view, exotic ingredients and the sort of service befitting clientele with net-worth not infrequently in the millions.

great service!. with all of the cut-backs lasvegascasino's have gone through, it seems the service gets worse and worse each time we come down. the only exception we have found is cafe bellagio. the food is good, but the service is great.

pretty background for okay food. alright, so we didn't eat here until the day we left fromvegasso maybe after having a few bad days at the tables and maybe after eating some other really good food and maybe after almost being broke i was a little jaded at this point. but i do not believe my culinary critique is so skewed that i am not accurately conveying in the contrary to what was advertised as one of the best brunches in town. the background is beautiful, and even a hung over, broke, out of towner appreciated the decorations at such a wee hour of the morning. we went at 0800, unheard of for most people on the strip but still early enough for the late gamblers to eat before bed and the sun risers to eat before the day. the restaurant overlooks the pool, great view and i'm sure would have been better had we waited later in the day for some of the people staying there to actually go out to the pool. ordered the garden omlete and the berry french toast (can't remember the name on the menu, but that's what it was), coffee, and water....split the entrees with a friend but the grand total was $40. i wouldn't have minded the price had the food been anywhere near the expectations i had for it. the omlete was bland at best, i know it's a veggie but there was really 0 flavor to any of the peppers or greens or anything that seemed to be randomly tucked inside. the french toast was decent at best, but i've had better at denny's or ihop or ***insert your favorite breakfast chain here***. and the "berries" encompassed a total of 3 cheeries, 3 raspberries, and a blueberry (i think, it was muy pequeno). so like i said, maybe i'm jaded but i expected a pretty good omlete for the location and the price and was let down.

greatvegascharm. grab a table by the trrace and you will not want to leave! nothing spectacular about the food, but it is fairly priced and good across the board!

i really get that oldvegasfeeling in there. while you wait for your order, feel free to play a game of keno.

fun scene. really lively yet tranquil "sunday brunch" type place with an elegant country outdoor garden feel though you're indoors. you will forget you're invegasthough oddly you can play keno which seems so out of place yet quaint with the paper runners doing the legwork if you can get their attention. good food/coffee though very busy and long entry wait. go if you're in for the leisure not a quick meal.
