jarrahdale general store cafe

went here on sunday afternoon with the family for coffee and here's how it went:

food: we only ordered cake and coffee and the cake (pecan slice) was beautiful. the only complaint was that it was too small..... lol. the coffees were hot and tasty. kids shared a milkshake and it was served in an old school metal cup and was a blast from the past.

service: terrible. the lady that took our order was very grumpy and rude, she didn't want to be there. it probably took 15 - 20 mins for 2 x coffees, 1 x shake and a piece of cake to arrive. we had to complain as others that ordered after us got their coffee ect before us. not good.

price: shocking. 2 coffees, 1 x cake, 1 x milkshake, 1 cookie equals $30. pathetic!!

ambiance: very nice.

overall: thisplacehas terrible service, is overpriced but has good food. would i return - don't know. 6/10

afternoon tea with some beautifully made and presented cakes. a lovelyplaceto come for a run out and refreshments. staff were lovely too.

we often drop into thisplaceas a midway spot when riding our cycles.
this morning stopped for a quick hot choc and a mocha.
the boss reckons it's the best hot choc she's had for few months (there's some shockers around perth. ) and they mocha with the extra shot was the best.
didn't have the the time or the capacity for a jarrah burger (not far enough distance either :-) ) but they are worth trying if you are up there.

ryan. we regularly travel to thisplacejust for the atmosphere, not to mention the fantastic burgers and coffee.......never had anything but a delicious meal, the staff have always been polite and welcoming! a real gem of jarrahdale!

sometimes the wait can be about 20 mins when they are really busy but that is no different to anywhere else.........sit down, relax, and take in the tranquil surroundings! the wait is worth it!!

jarrahdale treasure. have been to the jarrahdale general store on numerous occasions and never had a bad meal, serving are large and lovely and freah. the staff are always friendly and even made my little staffy welcome by offering a drink of water. i have takien many of my friends and they all love the place. the jarrah burger is huge and the chicken salad bowl plus avocado is one of the best i have had. keep up the great work ladies. every sunday theplaceis packed with bike riders, motor bikes and it's lovely to see people enjoying the relaxing atmosphere. they must be doing something right. :)

nice lookingplacebut i would never stop there again. these guys did so many things wrong but the worst was the my per hate. when a customer places an order the person at point of sale, if they have half a brain, should let the customer know if there is going to be a long wait. this enables the customer to make a decision of whether to go ahead or find and alternativeplaceto eat that would suit there time frame. in general people are happy to wait for food if they know up front of the estimated time frame. 40 minutes for our coffees and 50 minutes for food is un acceptable. theplacewas not even that busy. when our coffees $4.50each came out they were burnt. tasted like instant coffee with milk throth on top. we ordered two cheese burgers with chips for my wife, 3year old and i to share. when they did finally come out they had put mayonnaise in them. my wife, being pregnant, can't eat mayo so went up to the senior looking person behind the counter and asked if she could get another burger because she was pregnant and the menu never said anything about mayonnaise. the hag behind the counter went into defensive mode and said "that's not our problem. we are not going to just make you another burger. you will have to wait in line for the other orders in front of you". so we demanded a refund and my pregnant wife had to go without. wile i ate my burger i could hear the staff behind me saying" why did you give her money back, it was her fault". i have never in my life had such bad service. thisplaceshould be shut down. over priced poor quality meat patty burger.

always fantastic. the quality of product used in there food is absolutely fantastic, the staff are aso friendly and setting is tranquil. thisplaceis real gem and coffee is great.

have tried most things on the menu and nothing disappoints.

b for brilliant. thisplacehas become one of our little favourites,
pretty simple fare, burgers etc, but it's not hard to get that wrong.
much nicer fare than the cafe on the dam for example.
it's not licensed, but a soft drink or an ice cream is okay, the coffee is always good. it's always consistently good, never had a bad meal here and we've been a few times now, have the same thing, the jarrah burger!

great find. my mum and i came across thisplaceone day when we were driving for my hours for my license. the food is amazing, wether it's a burger or scones with jam and cream. the staff are friendly and it's a greatplaceto sit and unwind. this became a regular for us on the weekend and since she passed away from cancer 3 months ago i will start coming back as it was one of her favourite places to be.
