we came here for lunch with some friends. i ordered the salad with steak. ranch and the aioli on the side. the aioli isn’t very good. at least not to put on a salad. my steak wasgoodeven though they cooked it incorrectly.
my spouse ordered the mahi mahi “blackened” tacos. first off, the mahi mahi was in bite sized chucks. the bite sized fish were not blackened. i don’t think the cook understands what blackened is. cutting the fish in chucks overcooked the fish.
the sauce that was put on the tacos was too much. made the whole taco mush. my spouse took 2 bites and left the rest on his plate. needless to say 58.00 for a lunch, wasn’t worth it. we haven’t been to this place for over 12 years. now we know why.

once again, jams did an excellent job of making me have to make a tough decision as to what i was going to order. but with each visit, the food that i did order was top notch, very interesting, and extremely delicious. i've taken a number of people over the years to jams and each time they came away with a very positive feeling about their meal. i've eaten at jams over a dozen times over the years and each visit has been a great meal. the food has always been consistentlygoodand there's always three or four things on the menu that catch my eye that makes it difficult as to what to choose. and even under new ownership, that continues to be the case.

i suppose if you're willing to pay $13 for a sub-par hamburger, then this review isn't going to mean much to you. on a sunday afternoon, i went into jams for the first time. i have heard so much hype about it that i wanted to try it for myself. i found it surprisingly dead at that time of day, which is unusual because the parking lot is always filled for this place. i sat at the bar and ordered a soda. what kind of restaurant doesn't have soda on phone? so you get a can of diet coke. later, when i got the bill, i about fell out of my chair when i was charged $2.95 for a can of diet coke. then, i ordered the jams hamburger with balsamic onions and bacon. it was agoodsize hamburger, and the bun was good. i asked for pickles and lettuce and tomato on my hamburger. again, what kind of please that tell it's their hamburgers doesn't have sliced hamburger pickles? as a matter of fact, for $13, they should hand make their own pickles. but i got some sort of food service deli spears. i have to say that the veggie slaw was very good. the hamburger, on the other hand, was very bland. expected agoodamount of the balsamic onions, and i got what probably equated to a tablespoon. the bacon also was subpar. then, just to top it off, the bartender who was serving me was completely distracted by her friends at the end of the bar and never once returned to see what i needed. there were three managers at the other end of the bar complaining about this and that, which just kind of brought everything into focus for me. this is a trendy restaurant, with exhorbitant prices, for people who have nothing better to do than to spend too much money for mediocre food and drinks.

jams isgoodamerican food. congratulations on the reopened, rejuninated jams.
what a treat it was to eat in the new space tonight.
the interior is warm and inviting and offers something for everyone whether it be a stop by the bar, a group gathering at the tall family style tables, or the intimate two tops along the new wall that features a comfy, elegant bench. the impressive chandilieres take center stage and the photographed mural from younger years is a tasteful photographic memory setting the tone on the wall that further down reflects with elegant mirrors back on what is happening in the bar today. we tried new dishes and old favorites and everything was delicious, thanks to chef newman.
can't wait to go back.

first time at an old classic. jam's has been here for a long time but this was my first visit. i will be back. you know the moment you enter that you've made agoodchoice - it's bustling, vibrant, and lively - but the food is the real attraction. presentation and menu selection reminiscent of fine dining establishments created with a fun and tasty style. a perfect blend between gourmet and burgers - something for every palette. i chose the new york strip with garlic mashed and a maytag butter. the steak was aged well yielding a tender, perfectly seasoned experience and it was also quite a generous cut. my wife had the special - a miso based japanese style circle of scallops surrounding a colorful bed of carrot, daikon radish, and edamame. she loved it! with our guest couple we enjoyed our dinners and two bottles of cabernet sauvignon.

consistently impressive. it had been a few years since i had been to jam's and a return trip was long overdue. the menu offers a nice mix of lighter plates and more substantial fare, with the dishes i've tried ranging fromgoodto excellent. most recently i had the steak frites--a marinated flat iron steak that was cooked perfectly (for me, a nice sear and pink throughout) and sliced thin. i didn't particularly like the aioli it came with, but this was still a nicely seasoned, delicious plate of food. my wife was even more pleased with her chicken and vegetable risotto. the chicken was juicy, the risotto creamy, and the parmesan really stood out.
a full bar occupies one side of jam's long, thin space, with a mural running the length of the opposite wall. every time i've eaten here the place has been full (reservations recommended, though the wait hasn't been too terrible without them), serving both casual and more dressed up diners. there is a nice energy here, agoodsocial vibe, and a relaxed feel.
service has always been fine (occasionally a bit slow given the crowds) and prices are fair.

wonderful!. had not gone there for a while because i thought it too expensive but had marvelous fish tacos made with mahi mahi and a cumin carrot sauce that lives on in my memory for $13 and change. our server had that rare mix ofgoodmenu knowledge and charm without hovering! wine verygoodand not overpriced, atmosphere is always fun. will go back soon!
