very good. first time i have eaten here. lunch was very good and so was the service. would definitely eat here again

dinner with mom. i first went to jams with my mom chickie holt . it was fabulous .i would love to go back someday.

food is fantastic - staff is downright rude. went to jams last night for an early supper - around 5:15 or so on a tuesday night. i have been to jams numerous times and adore their food, but i will say their staff always seems to be snooty - especially if you don't have one of their "beloved" reservations. i'm not sure why you need a reservation when there is no one there but whatever....i get it's a big deal to them but do get tired of the lecture if you don't have one. i took a friend from st. louis who had never been there but travels to omaha frequently - she was excited to find someplace new that was not a chain. we get it, get our reservation lecture and sit down. our waiter was immediately annoyed because we only ordered soft drinks. when we got our drinks, they were diet instead of regular and when we pointed this out to him, he argued with us rather than just fixing it. my friend wanted to try several different items on the menu since she'd never been so we ordered 2 appetizers and 2 entrees, all of which we wanted at the same time so we could sample and share without filling up on any one thing. the waiter told us this was "not how they normally do things" but finally went ahead and agreed. our food came out and was fantastic as usual. we sampled our way through all of it and then asked for the rest to be boxed, but while that was being done, we also ordered a dessert to share. from the look on the waiters face, it was obvious he felt we didn't need dessert but he did box our things and get our dessert. now, here comes the extremely rude part....while we finished our dessert and conversation, our waiter stood right next to my chair the entire time, periodically looking at his watch. the restaurant was not busy, there was no one waiting to be seated so there was absolutely no call for this behavior! i jokingly told my friend that maybe he thought were going to dine and dash but that's exactly what he made us feel like. eventually we got tired of his behavior, paid our bill (and tipped well by the way) and left. i felt really bad recommending this place to a friend and i'm sure she won't ever be back. i love their food and i'd be hard-pressed to find a reason to go back. it was hands-down the rudest waitstaff behavior i've ever experienced. jams needs to realize that it's not just about food but also customer service...

what happened to the seasonal menu?. i adore jams!! it's one of my favorites and i look forward to the time their menu changes each season. last week, i didn't see seasonal menu. the pumpkin pasta a few years ago left me looking for it, each fall. disappointed that those items were not there. we'll be back but not with the expectation of a new menu with fresh seasonal ingredients.

good. 6:00 reservations on a sat night. service was friendly. two of us had salmon on bed of potatoes and lentils in buttery gravy. salmon topped w/ sour cream chive stuff. salmon was cooked to perfection. too much sauce masked the beauty of the fillet. third person had pork loin on rice and beans and it was the most tender pork he'd eaten. rice and beans delicious - no mush. we were there very early so it was neither crowded nor super loud, but things were picking up as we were leaving.

one last thing. previous reviewer noted the mural. it's a little weird because all the women in the mural look like men in drag. it was a conversation piece at dinner.

fantastic lunch!!!!!. had to make a trip into omaha, heard that jams was good. boy that was an understatement. give it 5 stars even though we had wait 15 minutes at straight up noon when we arrived on a friday. the special desert, a caramel pumpkin bread pudding was to die for!.

another strip mall jewel offering a contemporary twist on classic flavors, jams has been pleasing omaha foodies for more than 20 years. serving up an eclectic menu ranging from ‘the salad formerly known as dave’s’ to short rib tacos with poblano mac and cheese in a charmingly vibrant setting, it’s easy to understand why so many are drawn to this friendly, bustling place. what truly sets them apart from other area hot spots, however, is simple: consistently excellent food with consistently excellent service. your food – whether during the busy lunch hour, served up at the bar after work with a cocktail, or during dinner service – will always arrive expertly prepared, beautifully plated, and promptly delivered by a gracious, attentive server who’s been there for years.

first time at an old classic. jam's has been here for a long time but this was my first visit. i will be back. you know the moment you enter that you've made a good choice - it's bustling, vibrant, and lively - but the food is the real attraction. presentation and menu selection reminiscent of fine dining establishments created with a fun and tasty style. a perfect blend between gourmet and burgers - something for every palette. i chose the new york strip with garlic mashed and a maytag butter. the steak was aged well yielding a tender, perfectly seasoned experience and it was also quite a generous cut. my wife had the special - a miso based japanese style circle of scallops surrounding a colorful bed of carrot, daikon radish, and edamame. she loved it! with our guest couple we enjoyed our dinners and two bottles of cabernet sauvignon.

absolutely loved it. he had the fish tacos and i had the rib tip tacos. it was worth the price and the service was quick despite the restaurant being packed. we'll definitely come back.

consistently pefect? yes.... the only downside to this place is you ahve to be there by 11:20 to get a table at lunch!

the food is always fantastic. i can't even begin to choose a favorite thing on the menu. i always enjoy whatever i order. my one complaint, and i admit it is nitpicky, is that they serve the red wines too hot. however that doesn't stop me from craving jams.

consistently impressive. it had been a few years since i had been to jam's and a return trip was long overdue. the menu offers a nice mix of lighter plates and more substantial fare, with the dishes i've tried ranging from good to excellent. most recently i had the steak frites--a marinated flat iron steak that was cooked perfectly (for me, a nice sear and pink throughout) and sliced thin. i didn't particularly like the aioli it came with, but this was still a nicely seasoned, delicious plate of food. my wife was even more pleased with her chicken and vegetable risotto. the chicken was juicy, the risotto creamy, and the parmesan really stood out.
a full bar occupies one side of jam's long, thin space, with a mural running the length of the opposite wall. every time i've eaten here the place has been full (reservations recommended, though the wait hasn't been too terrible without them), serving both casual and more dressed up diners. there is a nice energy here, a good social vibe, and a relaxed feel.
service has always been fine (occasionally a bit slow given the crowds) and prices are fair.

my favorite omaha restaurant. i've been enjoying jams for over 20 years. it is the best, bar none.

we have every family birthday here, every year. so my son's been coming here since he was like 2. his favorite? the chicken fried steak. well on his birthday last year they unveiled their new menu - and a new gravy for the beloved chicken fried steak. no!!!!!!!!!!! bring back the cream gravy! i've been trying to copy it at home for years to no avail!

love this place - even the 80s mural.
