best dine-in mexican restaurant in pooler. myfavoriteis the molcajete. i took my sister (visiting from out of town) and she ordered it to and agrees it is phenominal. it is a stew served in a hot stone bowl and has shrimp, steak and chicken. it comes with tortillas to make tacos and i recommend getting the rice/beans/guacamole that can be provided on the side. it is large and could be shared with two. i always take leftovers home. i would not have ordered this based on the menu picture but i was sold when i tried it when my friend ordered it. it is the only dish i eat when at jalapenos now! my wife ordered the texas fajita nachos for her main course which was also good. they are topped with steak and nacho cheese. i also always go for a margarona which is a margarita with an upside corona beer added. very delicious. there are two jalapenos locations in pooler and this one (near lowes) is the larger one and is a bit quieter. it's the better one in our opinion.

recently.... i have been frequenting jalapeños since it opened here in pooler. i have seen the restaurant have it's up and downs over the last several years. i am so disappointed to see the restaurant taking a downward turn again, as it has been amazing in the recent past. the recent change in management was immediately noticed, as was some of the best staff leaving the restaurant. i have witnessed the current manager be rude not only to staff, but to customers as well. i can only hope that the staff that is still left (many of which have been with the restaurant for a while) don't get fed up and leave like the others. the atmosphere is so different there now, it is no where near as enjoyable as it was even just 2-3 months ago. please fix this! i really dread finding a newfavoriterestaurant....

myfavoriterestaurant. i'm a regular customer here. i come with friends and we have never had a bad experience. the food is always great, servers friendly. i love the art decor. the place has lots of flowers. their margaritas are the best.

for a long time, this was myfavoritemexican restaurant. i went there at least once a week and knew my food would always be fast and good. unfortunately, the last few times i've been the service is horrible and the food isn't great either. i wouldn't recommend it now- it seems like everyone working there just started and they just don't know how to cook everything correctly.

can't beat it.... it's cheap mexican and i mean that as a complement. i've never had a bad meal and i think i've had almost everything on the menu. myfavoriteis the guadalara cheesesteak. it's always crowded, but the wait is never too bad. yes - it is loud, but personally i like that. we're there at least once a week. extremely kid friendly.
