great burgers. the burgers are great. unfortunately, they have very limited hours, it takes a long time to receive your order and the staff is sometimes mean. if you can endure all of those things, the food is definitely worth it.

best burger you'll ever eat. oh my god, you can't miss this place. the jackson burger is a masterpiece. i've been here a dozen times and can't bring myself to order anything else, friends have told me to try the hoagies, cheesesteaks, etc. i can't not order a burger. parking is tough and getting a table can be challenging, but its worth the trouble. go there right now.

i came here a few times for a quick bite and was always happy with the prompt service and the delicious food. the customer service was great and they were able to address all my needs and have my order my way.

jackson house is a ‘hole in the wall’ lunch only amazing diamond in the rough, hidden not far from the center of harrisburg. this is not a linen table cloth monogrammed napkin fine dining establishment.

we make it a point to each order something different every time we go, and invariably to rave reviews. sirloin burgers and real deal philly cheese steaks are the features. being close to the state offices, there is a steady stream of cubical folks picking up takeout orders.

this place gets busy…and parking can be a challenge, so we always go early. we always order and eat in so that we can people watch and listen in.

delectable burgers are one of their featured specialties; thick, flavorful juicy and delicious. they are huge, prepared with a huge variety of options, and expert doneness. this is not mcd’s where you have to hunt for “where’s the beef!”

subs and philly cheese steaks are served on incredibly scrumptious crusty buns. again there are not only an amazing array of meat and cheese, but side and condiment choices as well.

if you are a first timer …..look at the menu before you go, talk to others, and listen (put your phone down) while you are in line. there will be people behind you waiting, this is a business, so listen and apply what you observe to your efficient non-time wasting order.

new components are sourced on a daily basis, so be prepared if you go late on a busy high volume day, as choices will diminish and they do run out.

bring a hearty appetite and be prepared to be happily amazed!

burgers that harrisburgers hate to love.. by oden's beard these burgers are amazing! jackson burger is 1/2 lb of meat and at least 500 tons of awesome sauce wrapped in the thickest cuts of bacon this side of the stock yards. as a harrisburg native (harrisburger?) this is the place you hate to love. be prepared to nurse a food baby full term because this will weigh you down in the most satisfying way possible.

these burgers are great!! i don't even know how to describe the service. let's just say i thought i was in a movie...burger nazi for real (not really). didn't stop me from ordering though.

harrisburg's best kept secret. jackson burger hit the spot. it's the kind of burger you know you shouldn't eat (greasy, cheesy, bacony) but when you finish you have to battle your mind and gut to walk away and not order a second one.

notes: cash only, closes at 1:45pm, call ahead early for large orders, they do not take walk-in large orders, be prepared to wait 10 or more mins for a burger.

a bit of philly in the burg!. first you have to understand that i have lived in the harrisburg area for over 25 years and on tuesday december 31st 2013 i finally had a chance to eat here.
i was not let down on the decor, early chow house..(like the old time coal towns). if you are in any way claustrophobic (stay away) it is tight to order your food and limited seating inside.
i ordered a philly steak sandwich wit whiz and no onions, the sandwich arrived in a classic philadelphia steak roll and reached both ends of my paper plate (come on would you want to do dishes??)
it was hot and juicy, the sauce (meat sauce/gravy) was dripping out of the bun.
i enjoyed every bite!
i do not know why i waited so long to eat here, oh yea, they are only open mon-fri from 10:30am until 2pm and the grill shuts down at 1:40pm.
i will be making the jackson house one of my weekly lunch locations here in harrisburg.

fantastic fresh food. highly recommend this place for a great lunch. the roasted red peppers and sweet peppers go well on the subs.

bravo sir.......bravo. literally just finished eating at jackson house for my first time and can hardly put words to how amazing this food was. i had the triple decker turkey sandwich and it was phenomenal! first off there had to been at least 2 inches thick of turkey (deli sliced) with ltmo, i have to say this was the best sandwich i have had in years maybe even ever. it is the kind of sandwich you might make for yourself on a lazy friday after you just called out of work for no reason. this place is a game changer, food: 10/10, atmosphere: 10/10, space: 7/10, and price: 8/10.

just to be devil's advocate...this place does not take credit or debit cards so be warned...bring cash, they also don't have a lot of space inside to sit but they do a very good job arranging the tables so everyone who can sit, sits comfortably. lastly, the parking was a bit hard to deal with, but with a little luck we found a spot on a adjacent street.

this goes without saying i will be a return customer for life and i will recommend this place to all my friends and coworkers....again wow
