jack astor's

my go-to restaurant. i go to jack astor's often, and i'm never let down. most of the dishes i've had were quite good (my favorite is the chicken club pizza),and the rest were not bad. the service is usually really good and the prices are typical for this type of restaurant. i'm sure i'll be back many more times.

my family and i dined at this restaurant this friday night for my birthday. i made the mistake of ordering the 11 oz. new york steak. i have eaten at a great many restaurants in both canada and the u.s and must say that this 
steak was without a doubt the worst value for the money i have ever been subjected to. this steak was supposedly from aaa meat, however it turned out to be the toughest piece of meat i have ever eaten. we have eaten there on numerous other occasions over the years and found that the bulk of their meals are quite tasty and well prepared. may i strongly suggest that if this restaurant cannot really offer triple a beef then get out of the steak business.

time to give an update on this place. not sure what's going on but the food quality is definitely going downhill. my wife and i go there quite often until a few weeks ago. ordered nachos, dish arrived with liquid cheese sauce, disgusting taste. sent it back and asked for real cheese, dish came back with just a sprinkling of real cheddar. 

my daughter was there 2 nights ago with friends. three of them ordered the cheeseburger meals and got what looked like burgers from a fast food joint. processed cheese, some kind of bacon. my daughter sent her's back and asked for a caesar salad instead. the other two guys ate there burgers out of hunger but also found the food terrible. manager removed the burger off the bill but did not apologize for the quality of food.

food wasn't too bad. brought the family out for dinner and a couple of our steaks came out very rare despite ordering medium-rare. service was slow even though it wasn't busy. waitress forgot our utensils and messed up the bill. pricing was ok but on the expensive side for what we got...

great food great service had a perfect steak cooked to order. my son had same off of children menu. wife had great chicken salad. my sever was a pro great timing.

service was good and food was delicious. i feel the food is a little overpriced but it is priced to compare with crazyhorse right next door. the sauced chicken fingers are amazing

service was slow to start and during visit. too many small tv's with no hd, how about a few big ones? won't return, staff didn't really care if you were there are not kinda feeling.

went here before a concert. it was packed. we were seated and served in a timely fashion. the buddha salad was only okay. the pizza was not bad. gotta remember that this is a chain.

we asked for a booth, were told it would be a bit of a wait. aster 10 min and 2 people seated before before us we asked what was wrong with the 2 man booths to the right. and were informed they were reserved for tonight. when asked about the ones out back ohh they need to be cleaned. we in 10 min and 4 staff standing at the front gossiping about the cute hockey guys coming in and other crap. you could not clean them. when how much longer we got told ohh a while we are waiting on the ones to be cleaned and they take forever. when asked for a supervisor got told there was non on staff. this event took place saturday at 2pm on jan 2nd. this place was a decent place to get snacks and a meal. but this was strike three with the hostess. the last 3 times i have come they hostesses were unprofessional and cared more about socializing and on the phone than the client. you have lost my business and we will no longer recommend you as a great gf place to eat. with staff that is not professional does not mater how good the gf is it is not worth the hassle.

great place to eat with friends. it was a great first experience the food was great and the waitresses were even better ill definitely go back

menu is getting boring. i've been here countless times and the food has generally been good. the past few times they've changed their menu up and taken some of the more interesting dishes off leaving it to be a boring chain like kelseys or milestones. the beer selection is vast but not varied. you might as well have 20 coors light taps. the beer selection is bad and the food is mediocre. won't be back for years if at all.

best food and value in kanata. food is always fresh and well presented. have tried most of the new restaurants that have popped up in kanata hoping to find somewhere to rave about but alas..... it wasn't to be....jack astor's beats them all hands down!

food is good but up sell on drinks is not appreciated. we have been to this restaurant a few times and each time our server has offered to up sell us on our beers. when we agreed, our larger glasses were brought to us but were not full....yet we were charged the extra. the food is good and servers are friendly though.

oh so good. first time here and it was oh so good, even tho i sat at the bar, service was amazing. food is terrific and service is top notch.

there are the 'boston pizza' and 'montana' 'kelsey's' and 'east side mario's' in this world. and i'll be blunt, these aren't my cup of tea. you can feel the marketing reps at work from the moment you walk in; jack astor's offers that same overly-perky hostess and waitress, and the decor and theme are well calculated but the service is good and the food is average and above. i had chicken wings and california grilled chicken salad and starbucks coffee! yes! 7/10. if u r in the area worth a stop.
