jacaranda coffee lane

came here on a sunday morning with a friend a few weeks ago to re-fuel after a 10k run! i couldn’t decide between the ‘crab omelette’ and ‘big brekkie’ (which was not on the main menu but was advertised in a separate little flyer - come in vegetarian and non-vegetarian options). i ended up getting the vegetarian big brekkie along with a large iced mocha and i have absolutely no complaints! food was hot and fresh, was beautifully presented and came out quickly! portion sizes were huge (not complaining about that though) and everything tasted delicious. our coffees even came with a little cookie on the side, which was a nice touch 👍🏽

overheard a lady at the table beside me order the crab omelette and i had a sneaky peek at her plate when it arrived! definitely want to try that next time - it looked divine 😍

jacaranda coffee lane is the perfect place to come with a group of friends or alone to chill, do some work on your laptop, read a book or just people watch! the cafe is moderately sized, well lit and airy, with vintage decor and indoor + outdoor seating. given the location, it might get a little busy on weekends.

i agree with other reviewers that the menu is a little on the pricey side but considering the unique items on their menu + the large portion sizes + excellent service, i don’t mind paying a few extra bucks. i had a lovely time and really enjoyed my food! i must have walked past this cafe so many times but i never noticed it until my friend recommended we go there that morning! the cafe may not look like much from the outside, but never judge a book by its cover. coffee and food was delicious, the man who served us was super friendly, and the interior was simple but pretty and comfy!

looking forward to my next meal here!

jacaranda coffee lane appeared on a list of interesting breakfasts, which is a sure way to pique our interest. located along the busy section of west end’s boundary street, it has an understated entrance, and we have probably walked past it in the past without even noticing. there is a menu on a stand near the entrance, but in simple black and white small print, it too doesn’t grab attention.

popped in with friends around 12 on a scorcher of a sunday. sooo grateful it has air con! it was surprisingly quiet. the staff couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. i ordered the iced latte (which they frothed and then added to coffee ice). friends tried the iced mocha and iced matcha latte, which was made in a similar way.

the presentation of the food was great. i really like the finishing touches (like the latticed tuile or the wasabi peas on the scrambled eggs). i enjoyed the eggs benedict on the croissant (the poached eggs were ever so slightly underdone). also sampled the salmon tartare, which was fresh and tasty. i really like their use of dill and lime.

the sweet was by far the best. the maple french toast with coffee ricotta and creme anglaise was delicious. my friends and were elbowing each other to get the best bits.

all in all a thoroughly enjoyable experience (it was very sweet of the staff to bring us a complimentary plate of tiny cookies with our drinks and then a small fruit salad with popping candy and cream).

nicest brunch we’ve had in west end, plus extremely considerate and friendly service. good food variety and delicious, plus good portions and nice, hot coffee. i was wary about how long our order would take but it was less than 20 minutes with afew other tables seated. highly recommend french toast and bacon and egg burgers, and definitely coming back again.

visited this cafe for breakfast/brunch.
it's a little nice cafe on boundary street.
staff are very nice and friendly. the service was slow. food was nice and tasty. i'm giving 3.5 for two reasons: slow service and a bit over-priced. but definitely was worth trying!

the venue has a lovely little vibe going on, very bright, clean and  good volume of music.
the male server was very polite and happy, it was a pleasure to be served by him.
i ordered an iced coffee and the salmon tartare on rye with poached eggs,
the ice coffee comes out as a double shot of espresso in one cup and the milk and ice cream in the other, this gave me a chance to taste the fresh espresso, it was a very nice espresso.

the salmon tartare came out with a wonderful presentation, and for the price it was a huge meal.
the tartare itself was excellent and the poached eggs were done to perfection. there was a wedge of fresh lime that when drizzled on the tartare turned it from excellent to divine when pared with the avocado and cucumber and dill.

to finish off the meal  i was given a complimentary assortment of fruits from the melon and grape family covered in a little whipped cream with popping rocks in it. i've never tried this before but let me tell you it was a delight!

the service was speedy and so was the delivery of the meals.
all in all very happy with the experience, thanks guys!

here for a monday brunch. only two staffs there and three table to serve. honestly not impressed with the speed of the service. been waiting for half an hour for the meal. i do get a little upset for the waiting because i am so hungry and need to get to work at 12pm. doesn't expected to have a long wait on a weekday.

one of the staff lady is not looks so happy, probably its the monday depression but the guy that serves us is very friendly.

anyway, after all these complaining of the wait, their food is quite good. i do like the flavor and the portion of the food. and this is not usually what u get in other places. the salmon tartar. the rye bread taste more like a sourdough bread to me(and looks like one). they also offers us a brownie at the end, probably because of the long wait? but we are in a hurry and thanks for their gesture.

would recommend if you don't mind waiting. the presentation and the flavor is definitely there. is just don't go when u are super hungry. or pick an other time?

lovely little cafe situated in the heart of west end. i went here on a mother daughter date today and absolutely loved it. the staff were attentive and honestly very lovely and polite. we got the haloumi, scrambelled eggs with rye instead of sourdough which was delicioys. also gave us a complimentary fruit salad which was wonderful! definitely recommend!

excellent asian fusion food (but they do the standard breakfast staples too), great coffee, sizeable portions, attentive service and good value for money. had the mapo tofu with fried eggs, pork floss, dumplings and noodles - scrumptious. will be back.

(also - no surcharge on the easter weekend!)

a pleasant atmosphere filled with the most charm-ful of staff i must say, if that's not what drags you into this cozy area of west end then their breakfast and brunch menu will! i have ordered their english bendedict twice in a row and let me say, they do not disappoint as their eggs are poached to perfection. will def be a regular there!
- forgot to write my review on zomato, decided to use my google review
the coffee is fantastic
